Potential

Since the beginning, Blush had been suspicious of the two of them because she was more sensitive to the use of spells and magic power than others.

The shapeshifting spell that covered their bodies went unnoticed by others and could be maintained for a long time even during their sleep but Blush had been able to dispel it.

She knew the spell structure and could disrupt it to allow their true appearance to be revealed.

One demon was less skilled in demonic magic and released several strong sword strikes at her which showed that his physical power had been trained besides practicing basic disguising spells of the demon race so he fit well with the role of a knight.

The other demon was the assistant who was slightly weaker but he was more skilled with the use of his miasma and spell casting which had allowed him to incite others with the use of his words and magic.

Manipulation types spells were sinister because they played on peoples emotions and caused them to act out of reason or their character.

Some people had doubted if Blush was really a traitor or witch but with a little manipulation, their anger and resentment turned towards Blush.

They may have believed the assistant and acted against her if the assistant had continued to give his reasons for how he believed she was the traitor but he did not need to do so once his inciting had giving them the push they needed.

Blush did not make a move during the whole time because she was analysing the spell structure and did not wish to miss the opportunity to learn a spell from the demon race.

Although she did not have evil energy or miasma, the spells could still be understood by her and tested to see if they worked with her magic power.

If it did not work then she could always experiment and alter what she had learned to try out new ways to make a spell with a similar effect.

Blush placed her hand on her body and her magic power spread through her body and the demons as it investigated the structure and genetics down to the last detail. "Hmm.. interesting."

There were many places that she had similar genetics to humans which she had examined so she had been able to identify certain genetic markers but she was missing the genetics from the demon race.

She had gained two to compare herself with which had lead to her finding many more genetic markers which were similar and different from her own.

The information entered her mind and was categorised like placing a document or book on a shelf in the library so that it could be reviewed later.

Through the use of her strong mental abilities, developing a mental image of how she kept her memories and knowledge stored was a simple task so she went with the mental image of a library.

Finding and accessing the information just required a little searching through the right subject area then she could develop that knowledge into something greater.

In her many books on the study of ordinary human bodies and genetics, there were comparisons to her own body, human bodies, witches, different animal and plant species and two new additions which were the demons.

All she needed to do was bring them side by side then compare them with each other to identify certain key genetic markers in her own body.

The information had fully compiled after the spell had fully finished analysing the bodies and her own along with the evil energy within their bodies. "With this… I will be able to see where I am the same as the demon race and how I am different. What makes the body more suited to evil energy? What makes the body more suited to magic? How about ki talent? What about those with no magic potential? Will this help find those who possess latent potential in magic? What about my own mental abilities? Is there something more I have missed? I cannot wait to find out."

Not everyone that had magic potential would have the chance to discover their latent abilities and there would be many among them that would never awaken that hidden potential throughout their whole lives.

To understand the potential of the humans, the witches and the demons was the key to understanding herself and finding a path for herself that could help her grow stronger and her future direction.

Certain spells would have their limitations no matter how much magic power she has and there were many people out in the universe that had a highly durable body to be able to shake off her magic.

On earth, it was much less but there were still some strong people who existed or would be born which could break past her barrier or catch her off guard.

There were other races that could seal off or use magic along with their ki so they still had a natural advantage over her, among them were the demon race who were greater in strength or magic.

The two which she had run into were stronger than most humans and possessed evil magic but Blush had come up with a way to overcome them without having to exert most of her power.

A skilled mage would not use force and brutish methods to win battles but instead would prepare ahead of time to counter their opponents.

The herbs used were extra strong in the effects once burned so they had been able to weaken and put the demons to sleep without exerting too much power.

If it was a head on battle with both of them then she was not certain how long her barrier and magic could hold out before it broke from their attacks while she would have had to choose her spells carefully to cause them harm or capture them.

Through the use of her studies in the city and with Dr Gero on herbs and other areas, the danger to her own life had been reduced greatly.

If Blush had to judge her magic power level, purity and power then it would be considered to be at the level of a person with a power level of one hundred which was already good progress.

If she learned how to better draw out and stimulate her potential with magic besides using her current methods then her training speed would be much greater then the idea of stepping off earth may not be such a scary thing to do one day.

The universe was vast and full of many kinds of races and creatures that had their own special abilities and methods of fighting so Blush wished to study and understand them.

After finishing her task, Blush looked over the dispersing smoke in the area and the bodies laying down then pointed towards a bag.

The bag opened and some roped came out then wrapped around the bodies while many weapons and sharp tools were floating from each of their clothes.

They were bound by the ropes and then dragged towards the trees as each of them were tied up.

Several small glass vials appeared in the hand of Blush as she waved them around. "I think it is time to test these things. So many strong bodies so they should survive better than others."

The strange smoke exited the body of a man suddenly with her influence then dispersed which made him wake up with a little help of her hitting him. "Wa..what? Yoou! Cough! Traitor! Witch!"

Blush yawned lazily then pinched the man's nose and pulled back his head while the liquid inside one of the vials floated out and into the mouth of him before travelling down his throat. "Test one."

The man started twitching and heating up suddenly then screamed. "Ah.. argh..ahahhaaaah!"

He started scratching at his skin and his body started to deform slightly while his bones cracked.

His skin colour was changing along with his body shape. "Aah..aaah..aaaaaaah!"

His body started to mutate and shrunk in size a little before he stopped struggling and died of shock.

The body had mutated and no longer looked human after it had died, Blush took back her spell that investigated the ongoing changes within the body. "Hmm.. the potion did not work as planned. Too much pain in the host during their change can lead to death from shock and will halt the transformation. Hmm.. if I add this ingredient then the pain should be lessened greatly but I will have to add something else to keep it from interfering with the process. Ah! That herb should be helpful in helping to stabilise the mixture and prevent other problems."

She looked at the dead body with pity in her eyes but it was not pity for their death but was instead for the failure in the experiment.

Upon seeing the results so closely, she quickly came up with some possible solutions and then started making changes to the liquids in the vials before moving onto her next test subject.
