Prying/ fail

Zhao Qing could only get information from her through this way, she could only pretend to have discovered she was the Noble Princess.

The food was soon served, Zhao Xing removed her veiled hat, exposing her face. Her identity was already exposed, it was useless hiding it anyway.

Zhao Qing saw Zhao Xing's face and felt it looked familiar. She had been locked up in the fourth Prince manor, she shouldn't have seen Zhao Xing before. She put this thought aside. There were other matters she had to take care of.

"I heard Noble Princess was brave and went ahead and saved the Crown Prince." Zhao Qing asked, hoping to get something out of Zhao Xing.

Zhao Xing laughed, "Actually, I was not brave…" 'I was stupid.'

If not for the fact that her freedom was attached to the Crown Prince safety, she wouldn't care even if that man were to die in the wilderness. But she had to carry on with the lie she had told to the public.

"How can that be? Noble Princess stood out and took an arrow for the Crown Prince, saving him from the assassins, everyone knows about this and really admires Noble Princess."

Zhao Xing took a sip of tea as she listened to Zhao Qing's words. She had almost forgotten that if her becoming Noble Princess had earned her a number of haters, she also got some people that admired her, or saw her as a hero.

But she mostly considered a peasant that suddenly rose to the top. She wouldn't say her life wasn't valuable, she had after all saved the Crown Prince at the expense of her own life. But she didn't expect that some people would appreciate her for this.

"Hai, I'm only considered someone the Crown Prince had randomly picked up from the mountains, how can I suddenly have a number of admirers?"

"Noble Princess doesn't know this?" She had spent some time on the streets before she had been kidnapped, there were a lot of people that like this Noble Princess and saw her as a little hero, especially among the commoners, they saw Zhao Xing as someone that brought them bride. She was able to save the Crown Prince of the nation, it wasn't a small matter.

"Actually there are a lot of people that regard the Noble Princess."

But Zhao Xing did not know this, after all she was always cut off from the outside world. Even Lan'er's gossip wasn't enough to keep her updated.

Zhao Xing shrugged and said nothing. In a few days she would have to attend the banquet at Hongmen (trap), many of her haters would be waiting for her over there. Many of them would be hoping to see her make a fool out of herself. She hopes she would be able to come out alive and well.

Zhao Qing continued to ask more questions, "Noble Princess was able to stay at the Crown Prince manor for a while, actually this is the dream of many young ladies…"

"Hah, there was nothing apart from the beautiful structures and the gardens, and expensive treasures. You don't get to see the Crown Prince every day since he would be busy the whole time. I just needed to learn etiquette under people arranged by the Crown Prince, other than that, there wasn't much fun." Zhao Xing had been looking for the day she would get to bad mouth the Crown Prince with someone other than her servants. Her maids feared the Crown Prince, he was their master, so it was normal they wouldn't have their own opinion when it came to criticizing him.

Zhao Qing heard this and was stupefied. She would be happy as long as she got to sleep in a room at the Crown Prince mansion, because that would mean she would get to live with the man she loved, but why was it that when she heard Zhao Xing speak it seemed as if Zhao Xing was complaining, even saying the Crown Prince's manor was boring?

"Noble Princess means…the Crown Prince manor is boring?"

Zhao Xing tapped the table as if to insist as she said, "Exactly, very boring, actually there were times I'd really like to go about and have fun…" Zhao Xing shook her head in self-pity, "I wasn't allowed. The day I was able to move to the Noble Princess manor, I was more than happy. Miss Zhao, in the future, I know your parents are strict and don't want to let you have some freedom, but don't worry, next time don't run around the streets, it's dangerous, instead come to the Noble Princess' manor, I'll be sure to welcome you whenever you come."

Zhao Qing almost choked when she heard this. Strict Parents? Her parents weren't even with her! But she couldn't say this, so she only kept quiet.
