Premiere

The eventual date has been reached but it was not about the start of games and animation, it was the premiere of Creed Films' second theatrically released movie- Run Lola Run.

February 3 of 1989 was a prime release schedule of Friday. The awkward Wednesday release of Home Alone has been avoided.

Unfortunately, the MPAA rating has been on the abysmal R. It was within the distribution company's expectation but the vocal reminder that it may have been an NC-17 movie served as a warning.

The 700 theater release of the film might also be due to the competition's suppression.

Creed Films and Distributions was still a newcomer and its sway on the theater companies is not as strong as the major studios that had previously mastered them during the Golden Age.

Outside the chosen cinema for the film's premiere, the lowkey and cheapskate mentality of the Creeds wasn't reflected at all.

The budget for the entire event was only a few hundred dollars but a few unknown machinations paid for the upgrades.

Hundreds of normal attending moviegoers, the presence of notable critics, a grand red carpet, and hounding media personalities was a true level up from a hundred dollars premiere.

Trouble was brewing and the rumored attendance of a notable film company helmsman had spread.

The Creed duo and the production crew got into positions and knew that the CEO attendance was just a tactic. However, the overgrandness of the entire screening was shrouded with a sense of oppression.

Alexander decided not to think much about those conspiracies and competitive tactics. Instead, he turned his attention to the film.

The Creed Film's logo finally debuted!

A metallic arrowhead centered grandly on a dark background.

With an ascension of the Stranger Things Theme Music, the bold font 'CREED FILMS' metallically overlapped on the arrowhead.

Alexander was picky with the ILM-made intro but he knew that it was worth it. Mixing Stranger Things, Arrow, and Assassin's Creed produced an impactful feel to those who see it.

The awe was clear to see in the audience who saw it for the first time.

The film Run Lola Run mainly tells the story of Lola and Manni.

Criminal Manni delivers some smuggled loot for his boss, Ronnie, but accidentally leaves the 100,000 dollar payment in a subway car.

Given only 20 minutes to come up with the money, he calls his girlfriend, Lola, who sprints through the streets of the city to try to beg the money out of her bank manager father and get to Manni before he does something desperate or be killed by his own boss.

The next plot is actually very simple. Which is about Lola traveling through time and space! In this visually and conceptually impressive film, the lady protagonist travels through time and space three times, run three times!

On the first run: Lola tried to find her father to borrow money, she failed! She returned to meet with Manni and they resorted to robbing a store instead. In all the busyness and being surrounded by the police, Manni's panic and the startled police end up with Lola being shot dead.

After returning to her supposed save point in time, she enters the second run: Lola would rob the bank instead. She succeeds and meets up with Manni, only for him to die due to a speeding ambulance affected by her chaotic decisions.

The third run is finally a happy ending. She didn't make the mistakes that she made in the first two runs but she still missed out on the bank side of the matter.

Lola aimlessly wandered into the casino after all of her pointless efforts. She luckily wins enough money from playing roulette.

Meanwhile, Manni finds the bag of money that he lost and takes it back. He gives it to his boss in the nick of time with the loaded and sweaty Lola seeing the handover.

Not only did the two solve the problem, but they also made a fortune.

There are also other important details like the ambulance, her father's argument with her and his mistress, running limp, a man with a dog, and all the other butterfly effect craziness.

The message that the whole movie conveys is quite literal; we see Lola running, and so we accept her reality, even though the streets she runs through and the people she meets are altered in each story. The message is that the smallest events can have enormous consequences.

It is also considered a special love story which is why the Creeds decided to show it in the month of love- February!

The other charm of 'Run Lola Run' is far from that. It is about feminism! It is one of the few female-oriented films of the 90s.

In Run Lola Run, it is the woman who tries to overcome the conflicts of the story.

In the same 20 minutes, the woman (Lola) was running and actively solving the problem. The man (Manni) is passively waiting for the verdict of fate. Like all feminist films, Lola is actively changing everything, even changing time and space. The dislocation of men and women in the face of fate highlights the current world, and the roles and positions of men and women have undergone tremendous changes.

Alexander wasn't an overt supporter of feminism, he just wanted to tell a story that perfectly fits the need of the family company.

It only has a 750,000 dollar budget, was shot within three weeks, and had great box office potential.

The 1989 view of society on the film's implicit feminism would either make or break the film. Still, Alexander is highly doubtful that the upcoming romance movies could threaten the profitability of a 750,000-dollar movie.

The added bonus of extreme beauty Mrs. Cruise and the youthful Jason Bourne would help in the future sales of videotapes and DVDs.

AD 1's or Assistant Director of the 1st Home Alone movie's directorial skill was conveyed and Sullivan's interpretation of Alexander's vision made the film all sync to its imperfect perfection.

When the vertically scrolling credits started, the film ended and the people in the cinema gave applause for the movie.

A formal premiere of a decent movie would always be ended with applause. The critics and formality seem to compel the attendees to give the viewed film its deserved respect.

As for whether they truly liked it or not, it was up to them to decide in their minds. Whether they be vocal or keep it to themselves, this was also their choice.

The premiere was over but the socializing has yet to begin.

This is just going to be plain horrendous, silly, and more disgusting than my main trashy work.

You've been warned!
