Dreamless

The group of friends conversed with each other, and Rachel was able to relax, even chatting and laughing with Noel, who was obviously into her, as Chris could see.

"Enjoying the night?" A man asked as he got to their table and clapped a hand on Sky's shoulder, smiling. Although Chris had never met him before, he felt the man looked familiar until he looked down at Sky and saw the resemblance.

"This is my uncle, Ben. He owns this place." Sky introduced the man to Rachel and Chris, who were surprised at how young and stylish the man looked. Not that Chris had been expecting anything, but he was just surprised. He didn't look too advanced. In fact, he didn't look like he was past 30 yet. And if he looked like Sky, it meant he was hot, and being mature with the 5 o'clock shadow to add meant he was hot as fuck.

"I don't technically own it since their money is in this too," Ben said, laughing.

"Their money?" Rachel asked in confusion, which made Chris stop ogling the man. Not that he was into much older men, but the man was just good for his eyes, and now he was back to his senses, so that was that.

"Their grandfather left them a big inheritance after he passed," Henry informed the two oblivious people as he pointed at Sky and Rain.

"And they invested it here. Good investment, wouldn't you say?" Ben asked as he shook Sky's shoulder while looking down at him.

Sky chuckled and looked up at his uncle. "Still too early to say."

"Do not jinx it before I kill you." Rain warned Sky with a dark glare, making the others laugh.

"Well, that was a nice performance, even though it was unplanned. Now, your turn. The more money you generate, the higher your allowance." He pointed at Rain.

Rain grumbled as she stood up.

"Do have a lovely evening, the rest of you," Ben said to the table as he playfully pushed Rain's shoulder while leading her away.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" Sky asked Chris when their eyes met, and he noticed Chris was intensely staring.

"Why did you decide to invest the money in this?" Chris asked, still thinking about it. His grandmother had also left him an inheritance. But she had been smart to break it into three parts. He got the first one when he was 18 and wouldn't get the next one until he was 25, and the last one was when he had his first child. From what he got, she had done that because she knew he was going to be a reckless teenager who wouldn't spend her hard-earned money wisely. Which had been correct because he had spent it partying and buying useless stuff that was of no use to him at this time of his life. She believed that at 25, he would be more mature and less carefree, and when he got his first child, which she had hoped hadn't happened when he was a teenager, he would be able to see the world differently and would spend it on her first great-grandchild.

So hearing that these two had rather invested theirs makes him curious because he never considered this option.

"Why else?" Sky said. "We were able to get access to the money a year ago. We couldn't just leave the money idly or spend it frivolously. We wanted to use what we had to get what we wanted and multiply it so that by the time we are out of college, we'll both have enough to pursue our dreams." He explained, and Rachel just fell deeply in love with him all over again.

"And... what's your dream?" Chris asked curiously.

Sky leaned closer, looking serious as he said, "It's..." When he was sure he had gotten Chris's attention, he continued "...I won't tell you." He stuck out his tongue at him, making Chris scoff at his childishness.

The others at the table clearly found it amusing and began to laugh.

Chris was still curious, so after being silent for a few seconds, he faced Henry and Noel. What about you two?"

"Me?" Noel asked. "I would like to be a coach at this university after I graduate. I'm going to be the youngest and sexiest coach ever." He winked at Rachel, who grinned at him.

"You probably haven't seen my vlog yet. I'm a dancer. I already have organizations lined up for me to join as soon as I graduate. So that's what I intend to pursue." Henry answered.

"What about you two?" Noel asked Chris and Rachel.

"I want to be a professor. I intend to further my studies until I get a PhD." Rachel said, smiling.

"Wow! Academician. Impressive." Noel whistled, and judging by the looks on the other's faces, they were also impressed.

"What about you?" Noel asked Chris, who was feeling lost at this point.

Has he ever thought about this? Does he have a dream?

"Guess he also doesn't want to tell us," Rachel said, coming to his rescue.

Chris had never felt so useless and embarrassed in his entire life. He picked up his glass, refilled it, and took several gulps until it was empty.

The others looked at each other and also looked at Chris, who they could tell was suddenly in a bad mood.

"HELLO!" Rain's loud voice cut in through the mic, getting all their attention.

"So .. we are going to have a little fun. I know many of you are curious about a particular someone. So we are going to have him on stage with us."

"What? What the hell is she doing?" Sky complained, wondering why she was dragging him into this.

However, the crowd cheered, "YES!" Since they all knew who the particular person she was referring to was.

"We'll also be having his friends up here. We have a little fun for you." She said this mischievously, surprising the other two, who hadn't expected to be dragged into this.

However, they could not refuse since the crowd was desperately cheering for them.

"I'm going to kill her," Sky complained as he stood up, his annoyance transforming into a smile at once as he looked at the crowd that was cheering for them.

The three went up on stage, not sure what to expect, but they tried to look friendly except when they looked in Rain's direction.

"Here is the rule..." Rain started, ignoring them.

"Paying customers have the chance to write down a question directed at the three, which I will randomly pick. All they need to do is point at the person it applies to after three seconds. The one who gets two-thirds of the vote has to drink. And the one who is most pointed at, our two highest paying customers for the night, would have the chance to tell him what to do. And he would have to choose one of the two options. MUST!" She emphasized the last part.

The crowd definitely liked that, as they cheered louder this time while the people involved felt like strangling her.
