The first day

He passed, they both did.

The couple was not surprised but their parents sure were happy.

And now, he was "staring" at the giant door of 1-A.

...taking a deep breath, he slid the door to the side and walked inside, closing the door behind him.

Ignoring the other's curious stares he walked to one of the free seats, one to the left and one row up from the last.

Sitting down silently, Ayato dropped his head on the desk. He wasn't feeling it today, it wasn't like he was sick or anything, just today was... Meh.

He really wasn't feeling it right now.

"You can not sleep during school hours! That is very irresponsible-"

The horned teen created a barrier around his ears to stop the loud asshole from disturbing his brooding.

...Oh god, he was turning into an Emo.

After a few minutes of feeling the environment and a couple of students coming inside, he felt... A caterpillar? Holy crap, that was one giant caterpillar.

Straightening up suddenly and startling the tall teen by the sudden movement, he turned to the door.

Two students were talking, one boy and one girl by the figures. But by the stance, the boy was taking, he seemed to be ready to defend his face.

The door somehow slid open and everyone turned to look.

No one saw anything before they looked down to see the caterpillar.

It did have a face, so maybe a quirk?

"Ten seconds to calm down, not bad, but not good either."

Ayato heard a zipping sound and a man crawled out of the, now recognizable, sleeping bag.

"If you're here to make friends, then you're at the wrong place, Im Shota Aizawa, your homeroom teacher, now, put these on and meet me outside."

Well, that was fast, wasn't it?

Sighing, he reached inside the desk where what felt like folded clothing was stored and took it out.

Conveniently it was his size.

Mentally shrugging, he walked outside of the classroom, following the halls to the changing rooms.

How did he know where they were? The doors had brails for blind people. Quirks could be anything and someone here must have an echolocation quirk but is blind like a bat.

And yes, he did learn how to read in brail since he can't feel the letters written on paper unless they had a deep enough dent but that required an aggressive writer.

___

"...Why are wearing that? And do you have a spare?"

Ayato just "stared" at the homeless-looking man and raised an eyebrow. Shrugging, he dug into his pocket where he always kept a spare sleeping mask.

"Training."

His teacher took his spare sleep mask and muttered a quick thanks.

"What kind of training?"

He felt the older man's head tilt, answering that question was going to be a problem, the extent of his air manipulation is supposed to be a secret.

So, a half-truth it was.

"I can hear the rest of the class coming here, give it a few minutes, I can also smell the newly made coffee that was just brewed, and by the way, the source of the smell is moving, the buyer must have had it on takeout."

He hummed for a second, putting the sleep mask inside his pocket.

"Impressive."

Ayato shrugged, not thinking much about it, the silence got boring and his mood just plummeted even more.

Spreading his senses, he focused on the school as a whole. Feeling a large gathering at the entrance of the school, he focused his attention there.

Since he no longer focused on his surroundings, his sense of that specific area increased and he could make out the shapes more accurately.

A bit of searching later, he found Rin, she was looking around, probably searching for him.

Sighing, he focused back on his surroundings only to see the others coming into view.

That one blond he saw on the test day was leading the group, more like walking in the front if he was honest, he looked pissed, judging from his scowl and scrunched eyebrows.

He "watched" him the whole time and then he seemed to notice him, he seemed to get more pissed... Pissier? Questions for later?

"What are you looking at, Blindfold?!"

Smirking at him, Ayato chuckled, waiting for him to realize what he just said.

And he didn't disappoint.

"You bastard! Who are you laughing at?"

He just chuckled harder, oh yeah, these next few years might not be so bad after all.

"-Ayato, what's your record on the ball throw in middle school."

Turning his head to their teacher, he mentally sweated bullets, did he say something important while he tuned him out?

Outwardly, however, he shrugged.

"I don't know, the teachers didn't test me anymore since the more I trained the stronger my body got passively, so I didn't participate in tests without quirks."

Shota hummed slightly before nodding, throwing him a strange-looking ball. It seemed to have some sort of machine in the middle but he wasn't sure, this thing was airtight.

"Stand in the circle and throw the ball with all your strength."

Nodding, the horned teen walked over to the circle that was pointed out and stood exactly where his homeroom teacher pointed and rolled his wrist.

"Any rules?"

The hobo shook his head.

"just don't leave the circle."

Nodding, he started his partial transformation.

Scales covered his body, becoming visible on his forearms since he had the uniform sleeves rolled up. His muscles got bigger, denser, and stronger as he pulled his hand back.

None of this was necessary, but still, he needed to look cool and like he was actually trying.

Using air, he boosted the ball as he threw it, creating a shockwave and allowing dust to be kicked up and wind to blast around himself.

As the dust died down, he came back into view with his shirt open since it got too tight in his transformation.

Everyone looked over at Aizawa expecting the result. The older man however kept looking at the device in his hand.

The kid seemed to throw the ball at an optimal angle, allowing the ball to go the furthest it could and he conserved the energy by returning to his "Base form", the kid was rational, at least.

The ball finally landed and he showed the other students the results.

3.8 kilometers.
