Into Orario

While Alvar was walking towards the entrance of Orario he was feeling a lot of emotions swirling inside him.

The main ones were happiness and anxiety.

He was happy to finally be able to see Cali again after so long. He wanted to share his stories and everything he's been through after she left.

But he was anxious, because he didn't know how much she changed, how much she remembered and the amount of damage 'that' might have caused her.

'Worrying won't get me anywhere.' he thought while letting out a sigh.

All he could do was be hopeful and prepare for the worst. So he took a deep breath and kept walking forward while looking around him.

He saw elves, ordinary people, adventurers wearing light armour, beastfolk and also children. He could sense that some of them were strong so he thought they were from a different race.

He walked towards a line at the entrance and waited for his turn.

"Can you hand me your identification papers please?" asked the guard

"Sorry sir but I don't have any papers of the sort." said Alvar respectfully

"I see, in that case, you should go towards the elf sitting over there." he said pointing towards a young man with pointy ears.

Alvar thanked the guard and walked toward the young man

"Sorry for bothering you, the guard over there told me to come to you, because I don't have any identification papers." Alvar said when he noticed he had the young man's attention.

"I see, firstly, you should pay 1000 valis. This is for the entrance fee and temporary ID. I'll then ask you some basic questions, all you have to do is answer them truthfully." The elf said after clearing his throat.

"I understand, I don't have any valis on me but am I able to pay with gold coins?" Alvar asked while taking out a gold coin.

"Of course." The elf said while taking the gold coin and giving Alvar 9000 valis

"Now I'll start with the questions. first one, what is your name and to what familia do you belong to?" he asked

"My name is Alvar and I'm not in any familia." Alvar replied

"I see, do you have a last name? And what's the reason you came to Orario?" the elf asked while marking Alvar's answers down.

"I don't have a last name and I came here to potentially look for a job and to meet up with a friend of mine." Alvar answered

After a couple of minutes, they were done and the Elf handed him a few pieces of paper and said "This is your temporary ID. To get a permanent one you should head towards the guild."

Alvar took the temporary ID. He asked for the directions to get to the guild and after receiving them he started walking towards the guild.

On his way, he started sensing strange auras around certain people.

'So those are gods I'm guessing.' He mused while he continued walking.

Alvar wasn't fully paying attention to the people around him so he didn't notice their glances at him.

After a while, he found the guild and walked inside.

The main building of the Guild is a wide space with counters for adventurers to talk with their advisors and it also has an exchange area where they could sell their monster stones and drops.

Alvar headed towards one of the open counters. At the counter was a human with pink hair and pink eyes.

"Welcome to the guild! My name is Misha Furotto, how can I help you?" She asked while curiously staring at Alvar's scar.

Ignoring her stare Alvar took out the papers and said "I would like to get a permanent ID please."

"Of course! Hand me those papers and I'll take care of it."

Alvar handed over the papers and waited for a couple of minutes.

"Here's your ID, so anything else you might need?" she asked

"I would like to exchange all the monster crystals in my backpack and also would like to enter the dungeon." Alvar said taking off his backpack.

Inside his backpack is about 15 monster crystals from the goblins he killed on the way here.

"You mean magic stones? Sure you can go to the exchange area over there." she said pointing toward the exchange area.

"If I may ask, how did you get all those stones though? Your papers mentioned that you're not in a familia and have never joined one." She asked curiously

"By killing them, obviously." Alvar said while pointing towards his katana

"Oh? I see, well non of my business anyway. Is there anything else you need?"

"Well, I found a ruin a long time ago and found a lot of golden coins inside them so would want to exchange them for valis."

"Hmm... alright follow me and I'll take you towards a meeting room so that you can exchange your magic stones and also those coins." She said and then started leading him to the room

They went towards the room and Alvar sat on one of the couches.

She looked at Alvar and said "I'll go get someone to help you in exchanging everything so just wait here." she said and quickly left the room.

'Why does it sound like she's just pushing the work on someone else...' Alvar thought with a blank look on his face.

10 minutes passed and Alvar saw Misha enter the room again with a sad and tired expression.

"So no one wanted to do your work for you I'm guessing." Alvar said with a smirk

"..."

Alvar ignored her stare and took out his magic stones from his backpack and also a sack with 1k gold coins inside it from his storage. He placed them on the table, while Misha just looked depressed and started counting and getting the valis.

"Your luck really surprises me... the gold coins are 10mil valis and the magic stones are 7,500 valis." She said shocked

Alvar only smirked, since he still has a lot of gold coins since it was a part of his world's currency.

Misha handed him the valis and Alvar thanked her.

"So is there anything else you need?" Misha asked tiredly

"I would like to register as an adventurer and also ask for the directions of a good inn."

"Since you are not a part of a familia you can sign up to become a freelancer. although I would recommend finding a familia first before going to the dungeon." she said sternly

"No worries, I'm only planning on checking out the first floor tomorrow for a bit." he said waving his hand dismissively.

"Alright, I'll get that sorted out and as for the inn, you can go to the hostess of fertility. It is pretty pricey but it's worth it." She said and stood up to go get the freelancer papers.

After Alvar finished filling out the freelancer papers he said his goodbyes and left to the hostess of fertility.
