Homecoming finally.

The football game, crowning of the homecoming king and queen. The music, the food, the dance after. Doing something wild and making memories with your friends. Taking pictures. Matt didn't feel any of that. To be honest he wasn't feeling anything these days. He should probably get that checked out, but it just felt like too much work. He just wanted to be all curled up under his covers and not move till graduation.

If only that was possible.

No. Somehow Emily had integrated herself into his school life. She really wanted to go all out. Not like he had the strength to argue with her, but that last argument wasn't something that would just roll off his back. He wouldn't not be forgetting or forgiving anytime soon.

She had somehow found out about homecoming and feigned annoyance that he didn't tell her. Was he not doing the cold shoulder thing right? He had wondered. She had gotten him a suit even when he had said he wouldn't be going.
