"She doesn't need you to become a wolf, Beth," her mom said. "She just needs you to be safe and that is all that matters. When the time comes, other wolves would turn up to help us out but not you. It is your destiny to be human and you can't alter your destiny. If you do, you would die. You are aware of this right?"

"So you want me to sit here and do nothing?!"

"I want you to stay safe and I'm sure Beth wants that too. Brie, this battle isn't yours. Do not fight it"

"If you wouldn't help me find a royalty, then I would find one myself, and trust me, I am going to come with you!"

Her mom held her by the shoulder and looked into her eyes

"You would do no such thing and you will forget this plan of yours. You would listen to everything I say and you would obey without complaining. You would stay human and stay safe when this battle begins"
