The Market - Chapter 20

It gave him the feeling of levitating in the air or lying down on a lake or sea.

Alan gets up from the bed and squeezes his punch, feeling the power. He moves left and right and smiles.

"If I were to encounter that four-headed dire wolf right now, even in a full-frontal battle, there would be no problem at all."

"I would take them over with light injuries using only my sword." The points are too vague. It should come as no surprise that they cannot be traded using credits.

"Others who completed Mission Zero would receive one point, whereas I would receive three. This will put me at an advantage against them."

-

Alan had previously noticed a shower in his room.

He smiled and then entered; everything was modern and up to the standards of the earth.

There was no strangeness about using the shower inside the room.

After taking a thoughtful shower, Alan changes his clothes using the wardrobe in his room. He is dressed in new clothes and is wearing a white mask that he is unaware of.

"The White Mask of the Executioner"

"After wearing the mask, the power level and status of the user will be hidden from others." Others among the contestants cannot by any means learn the name and location of the user if the mask is worn.

"Recommended for use in missions not in the market or on common grounds."

The mask was simple; other than eye holes, there was no symbol or anything on it. Alan did not take it on his own for the time being.

After he finished most of the simple things, Pandora started to talk.

"In three days, a new mission will begin."

"There are three mission locations or worlds."

"The user can select." Each mission and world has a difficulty value; the more difficult the mission, the more rewards the user will receive upon completion.

"The ability to see mission difficulty is reserved for executioners and hunters."

-

Alan smiled after seeing the new information. "It seems like Pandora gives too much importance to executors." "The value that is given also adds more risks."

"Compared to others in the first mission, who only needed to survive for three days, if I was not able to kill Marcus and Relia, the Pandora would kill me in a heartbeat."

"More risks, more returns."

"Essentially, they cultivate individuals who do their bidding on missions by assigning their difficult missions."

"If the said individual dies, then so be it."

"Who knows how many they can pick out at a later time?"

"It is also safe to assume that I am just starting."

"If I am this strong just after the first mission, what about after missions five, ten, or even fifty?"

"What kind of powers do those people have if they can survive fifty missions?"

"I believe they can fly and destroy huge buildings with a simple sword or physical attacks."

Alan let out a breath and whispered. "

"Enter Market"

The scenery changes with Alan's whisper, and he finds himself in a town-like setting.

There are more than thousands of people around, walking between places and shops.

The number of people is not something that he can count.

There are people everywhere from all ages; some of them look scared, some have calm expressions, and most of them are looking to buy something for the incoming mission.

They appear to be aware that Mission will be assigned to them three days later.
