"Will," Noah greeted my brother, "clear?"

Will nodded, "so clear that I'm wondering why we were even asked to escort them," Will scoffed, then walked over to talk with Rick and Victoria.

"Nat, Ty, come here," Noah beckoned us over, when I was beside him he leaned to talk into my ear, "stay beside me or I'll drag you back."

"Yes sir," I mock saluted, then hid behind Ty and Will's large frame.

Before Noah could even do anything the vault-like doors opened, making a hissing sound, exposing an empty entrance and more doors behind.

I nervously glanced up at Ty as he pushed me forward to walk beside Noah. I did my best to ignore the cold glare from a few soldiers behind, wondering what I'd ever done to piss them off.

Once the doors closed nozzles released a gas over us, "it's just cleaning us," Ty chuckled as my trembling hand sought his. Seeing him laugh at me I stubbornly pulled my fist back, sticking it into my pockets.

The inner doors opened, showing a group of scientists and army personnel in the hallway. An eccentric-looking guy stood on his tiptoes at the front, looking through the crowd.

He dressed similarly to the other scientists, but his tattoo's peaked out behind his clothes and piercings peeked out behind his messy, mostly dyed long grey hair.

Gold-rimmed glasses sat at the edge of his straight nose until he weaved his way to stand in front of Ty, then he pushed them back up, "where is she?" he asked, not even bothering with greetings.

Ty looked at me, with a smug smirk, making the scientist also turn. His honey-brown eyes widened at the sight of me. He rushed over, scooping me over his shoulders ignoring my yelp, and weaved his way back through the stunned crowd.

When I was returned upright, he sat me on a bed, then turned back to fidget with a keypad at the door.

"L-Lex?" I asked, trying to push myself up to stand but feeling light-headed.

"Luna," he smiled widely, dropping to his knees in front of me and pulling my face within an inch of his, "you found me this time Luna."

My hands reached up to touch the unfamiliar cheeks, trying to study every inch for familiarities with the face I knew before, but exhaustingly I found none.

"It is Lex," System announced in my head, "his Systems allowed me access to confirm."

I let out a heavy sigh of relief, then leaned into him, seeking comfort from the first familiar soul I'd met, resting my head on his neck.

Feeling him not budge an inch, my hands nervously pulled at the tips of his hair, which was even longer than mine was before I cut it.

"You're pregnant?" his unfamiliar, yet comforting voice rose a pitch, shocked and maybe a bit hurt.

"Came with the body," I nervously explained, avoiding explaining the fact I'd also slept with two men since then, feeling guilty now he was before me again.

"Ah, that's never happened before."

"Surely I've had kids before I lived for six hundred years after all?" I asked, curious, pulling away to study his expressions.

"No," Lex turned away from me, then back down to my stomach. "You wouldn't," he bit his lip, not willing to continue. Was it a sore subject between us?

How I longed to recover the over six hundred years of history between us.

"I've really not once had a child?" My hand rested on my stomach, unable to imagine having given birth before only to leave the child behind, unknowing its fate.

Normal parents had it easy, forgetting their responsibilities to be born again. Immortals remember every soul encountered until the end of time.

"Never," he sighed, pushing his glasses back up, "you still want to keep it?"

I defensively pushed him away.

"I'll take that as a yes," he groaned, "trust you to finally pick to give birth in a shitty dimension like this."

"It's a good dimension," I pulled my legs up to lie comfortably on the bed, "at least that's what my System says."

He rolled his eyes and pushed himself to climb over me onto the space beside me, uncaring to kick off his shoes.

"Yeah, your System would say that, has it made you swallow a meteorite yet?"

I turned to face the door, trying to hide my blush, "something like that."

"Crazy," he shook his head, "syphoning one nearly sent me right back to the void."

"I spent a few months underground in a coma," I shrugged, feeling like I'd gotten lucky.

"Ignore him, I'd never put you at risk," System huffed.

"You're making it mad," I nudged his leg with my boot.

He gripped my foot when I went to do it again, unzipping it quickly before I could pull my foot back, then flung it across the room. Whilst distracted he grabbed the other doing the same.

"Lex," I wriggled to sit up, "they're gonna wonder where I went."

He shrugged, "not my problem."

This time I pulled his hair and tried to climb out of the bed to gather my boots. He pulled me back, pinning me under him.

"Do you have any idea how angry I was?"

I blinked up innocently. What had I done?

"Sacrificing yourself for someone you had only known five minutes, fuck Luna," he rested his head onto mine, and the image of Meilin's shocked face filled my mind.

"What happened? To Meilin and the baby?" I found myself unable to ask about Jianyu. I did not want to know, but then I wanted to know more than anything what kind of life he had lived without me.

I wriggled, forcing him to roll off me and lie sideways. He was always like this, so touchy and clingy it made my nerves haywire.

"Fine, a little girl," he looked completely uninterested, and his tone then shifted to a sort of whine, "I've had to spend torturous months underground knowing you were in this shit hole of a dimension and being unable to go find you. Thank fuck for Ty."

"If you're that grateful would you mind letting me in," Ty called out from the other side of the door.

I groaned, hiding my head under the pillow, "I told you."

"Where's Noah?" I asked nervously, seeing only Ty enter the room. Since Noah was an immortal, I assumed Ty must know who Noah was, maybe even Lex did. I felt like the odd one out despite being the same.

"Talking with Dr. Hale Snr," he leaned against the wall, pulling a cup of tea out of nowhere to sip, "so what have I missed?"
