A Little Overboard

Lian pondered over it for a bit as Tuly and the others had completely lost expressions on their faces. They didn't even know what the word electricity meant to start with.

Carol continued, "However, the materials necessary to use some of these methods are nowhere to be found. The only thing I think you could do through the use of Star Energy is the pressure method. Unless, of course, you're able to create magnetism with this Star Energy of yours. If you can, then magnetism would be your best option for high voltages. That was the main method of generating energy back on Earth, after all."

Lian couldn't help but ask in response. "As far as I know, the magnetism method is the process of moving a conductor through a magnetic field, no? Like iron, copper, or some other conductive metal out there."

Carol nodded, replying, "You're not wrong. But you know as well as I do that silver is definitely the best conductor there. After all, it has 47 electrons. It's just that using silver for energy production back on Earth was simply not worth it due to the price."

"Tell me more," Lian asked.

Carol didn't mind, continuing, "For example, moving a magnet around a coil of wire, or moving a coil of wire around a magnet, pushes the electrons in the wire and creates an electrical current. Electricity generators essentially convert kinetic energy into electrical energy."

It was then that Lian remembered something. "Tuly, can I see one of those silver coins of yours? I want to see if they're truly silver or not."

Tuly, who was as puzzled as ever, could only nod and pass a silver coin to Lian. A silver coin was worth a hundred copper coins, so it was quite a lot. However, he felt like Lian and Carol were up to something incredible, even though he couldn't understand what they were talking about. "Here, take two in case you need more."

Lian smiled in response. "Thanks."

Lian, Carol, and even Duran got close and examined the two coins. Well, the only two tests they could use were the odor test and the polishing test other than looking at the color. Unfortunately, the silver coin had been passed through too many hands, so the odor test wasn't exactly helpful. However, the polish test showed some results. Silver oxidized and needed to be constantly polished. According to the polish test, if one polished it, it had to leave the cloth with some black marks, or one wouldn't probably be handling silver. After cleaning the coins, they got a small piece of cloth from Grisa and confirmed that point.

"Seems good. It should be silver, I believe," said Duran after checking them."

Lian and Carol nodded in agreement. "Yes, it most likely is real silver."

Nevertheless, Carol and Duran were curious. "What do you intend to do, Lian?"

Lian smiled before taking one of the silver coins and tossing it into the air a few times. "First, Tuly, do you know some concealed place we can stop for a moment before heading to the restaurant?"

Tuly nodded, saying, "Sure, there should be an alley that's usually empty not far from here. Come with me."

Lian nodded as everyone followed Tuly. At the same time, Lian looked at Carol and said, "Do you know? I found a good thing about Star Energy. You can control the elements you're able to generate with it. Truly magical. Say, Carol, what do you think will happen if I conduct the electricity through the silver coin while trying to generate a magnetic field as the energy passes through it?"

They had just arrived at the alley when Carol's eyes opened wide! "D-Don't point it at any of us, you hear me?!"

"Hahaha!" Lian laughed out loud in response as he tossed the coin above his head instead.

Carol immediately warned everyone. "Get away from him! If he misses it, don't blame me for not warning you!"

Well, Duran was already very far by the time he noticed Carol's expression. Tuly's group decided to do the same, just in case.

After that, Lian used his Star Energy to conduct the lightning arcs into the coin while also generating a magnetic field. He was so excited to see the result that Lian used as much Star Energy as he could, ultimately creating much stronger lightning.

*Kabrum!*

Suddenly, something that looked more like a laser beam came out of the other side of the coin, shooting into the skies before disappearing several hundreds of meters later as its energy eventually dissipated. "Now that's what I'm talking about!"

Tuly almost fell on his butt after seeing that. Lian didn't hit anything with that ray of light. However, he felt it in his soul that if he was in the line of the attack, the laser would have gone straight through his body. "What the hell?!"

Grisa, however, was a lot more worried about something else. "Tuly, we need to leave! What he did will definitely bring a whole bunch of curious people here!"

"Ah!" Tuly understood the meaning of it and immediately grabbed Lian. Grisa and Hira also grabbed Carol and Duran before they darted away from the alley.

Sure enough, not even a minute passed before several city guards appeared in the alley. Lian's actions just now had truly caught a lot of people's attention. Some even thought some very high-level Star Energy Warriors were fighting due to that beam. However, the alley was completely empty by the time anyone arrived to check.

'Just what was that thing?' Everyone thought.

Far away from the alley, Tuly's group finally let Lian and the others go. "Fuck! Just how did you do that?"

Lian understood that he had gone overboard. With that, Lian gave a silver coin back to Tuly. "My bad, my bad. Also, my little experiment turned your silver coin into dust a moment ago, so only this one remained. I'm sorry for that as well."
