Joshua went over to the gagged and bound Cassandra and released her from her bondage. "Are you alright?" He asked, not raising his voice higher than a whisper. He did not want loud words to upset her after her ordeal she had just experienced. "They didn't hurt you, did they?" He asked, following up on his first question.
"No, they didn't." Cassandra said as she rubbed her wrists where the tightly bound rope had bruised her fair and delicate skin. "I don't even know what happened. One minute I was making lunch for myself and then the next I was shrouded in darkness. It was so dark I could tell the difference between my eyes being open or shut.
I could hear the thunder but not a single flash of lightning reached me, wherever I was. You were the first thing I have been able to see in a while. I am just glad it is over."
