Chapter 45 - Dumb luck

Caelum went into the dinner table where breakfast had been prepared by his mother who smiled seeing him in his school uniform. Her reaction was the same with Nancy mesmerized by his enticing face. At the table we're Dalia, Annie and Liliena who just started having breakfast.

"You've grown quite the looker son. Take a seat while I prepare breakfast. This is going to be a big day which I made for you."

"Glad it's your favorite as well, Caelum! Aunt Celine, this is to die for!! It tastes phenomenal compared to when I make them."

"Hey don't hog all the pancakes! Dalia!!"

"First come per serve!"

"Fufufu Caelum calm down there's more where that came from."

He slightly bicker with Dalia before taking a seat looking at the two girls who are eager to see their end. Dalia seems to have prepared quite a diet for herself while Liliena some pancakes and bacon. On the other hand, Annie had eggs on the side of her pancake. 

High school, for Caelum his life had been uneventful spending most of his time watching anime since he had hard time fitting in and concentrated in school. He had never gained any significant memories and most of his friends had left to chase their own dreams. They were only passing friends and never read deep relationships which is why most had not helped Caelum.

He didn't resent them since they had their own life and his stubbornness on fulfilling his promise that even if they had helped would be rejected by him. Caelum could only laugh at his own pride, but he overcame it and stood firm. At the current time, Caelum was walking with Annie and Liliena who had their hands wrap around his arms displaying their affection for him

Dalia didn't come with them as she had things left to do at home and would catch up to them later. Caelum softly smiles looking at the two eager to see the new school and the year to come.

"This is it! I'm excited about what the school has to offer for us!!"

"Yeah we can hang out with new people and spend another year together!!"

"Too bad, my brother have a different classroom than us."

"Don't worry, we can still meet at break time."

"What about you, Caelum? This is your perfect opportunity to enjoy being in high school again!"

"Hahaha to tell you the truth, I'm excited to see new people and learn a thing or two."

Caelum already had a vast collection of knowledge that anything new would be impossible when he had a library that contained all records of every subject. In his younger years when he was on the black clover verse had bought books regarding every subject and memorized the content. 

Though the hand on experience was a completely different issue as he didn't have the opportunity to do those things but did learn blacksmithing for a year. His skill was around an expert when forging weapons.

Regardless, the reason for going back to highschool was because he wanted to experience being in high school for a moment there. Caelum wanted to relax and not worry for a while letting his mother enjoy this life for now until he needed to come clean.  

"I just wish I can get along with our new classmate."

"We always have each other, me, Mary and Caelum!"

"If anyone dare try bothering you two be sure to tell me."

"Yeah yeah I can handle myself, brother don't worry."

"No, I'm worried for those people that are going to bother you."

Caelum jokingly said knowing that his sister doesn't have self control as he does and even before acquiring power had been collective in certain situations.

"In all seriousness, just say my name then I'll always be there."

"You're always so sweet, Caelum but we can handle it. You should concentrate on yourself rather than us."

Annie reassures him with a smile as they soon arrive at the gate of their new high school. Caelum parted ways with the two and headed to his section that was provided by the school website. It was still early in the morning and some students hadn't arrived yet. Furthermore, the school is strict in accepting students which is why there aren't many students. 

He headed to Class 4-A where inside were only a few individuals that hardly caught his attention. Caelum noticed how the atmosphere was rather awkward and scanned the room to find two middle men sitting on the desk. 

'How the hell does this school have middle aged men as students? Welp there goes my expectation.'

Caelum then felt presence from behind him turn to see a young woman with pitch black hair that had tied to the side and red mesmerizing eyes wearing the female uniform but the most interesting is that she was wearing gloves.

'Her hands…'

[ She seems to have an innate ability to see a fixed future. ] 

'...my intuition tells me she sees it more as a curse than a blessing.'

He notices how her hands emanate a foreign energy and has time attributes within it. The world may not have a solid magic system or anything similar but be aware that there some may be born with special powers.

"Is there anything I could do for you? I'm Caelum, it's nice to meet you."

"I'm Luna, it's nice to meet you two. I was just handing out flyers for Loco's cafe. My dad is doing a competition that consists of questions from various topics and just inviting people to join. Come by if you're free, It starts around 7:00 PM. "

She handed out a flyer that had undecipherable words written on it that Caelum recognized as Eternum official languages that he understood quite well. 

'Uhmmm….one of them says 'Traps are the best type of girls.' 

"Uhmm…are you going to go?"

"Ah sorry, I dozed off. Sure, I have time to spare but is there something I need to know first?"

"Nothing much besides you have to have 3 other members."

"That's complicating things….I have bad premonition that my team will lack a member. If you don't mind, can you be on my team? I could use a new friend since I'm new around here."

"I don't mind and I know the feeling of not fitting in."

"Thank you, Luna. I guess I won't have to worry about showing me the ropes in this class."

"Ah sorry but I'm from B class, I was going around handing out flyers."

"Bummer but guess it is what it is. I guess I'll see you there."

Caelum sweetly smiles having a new friend who seems out of place. It saddens him that she seems to wear the glove as a way to stop herself from using her powers. 

[ You have found a new waifu! ]

'Oh be quiet, Cereza!'

[ Hehehe but I'm right. ] 

'Never before have I been so offended by something I one hundred percent agree with.' 

[ Hahaha in all seriousness, it's best for you to get closer to her. ] 

He agreed, staring at the flyers before placing it into his pocket, then heard a voice come in and found Dalia dressed in her school uniform. Caelum could say that her and Penelope had the biggest glow up compared to him. Penelope was obviously going to be beautiful since she had been a popular girl when they were younger. 

"I see you're already getting acquainted on the first day. It almost made me worry that you'll act out of place."

"Yeah, too bad she's in class B. Anyway, do you have any advice that I could use or things I should know?"

Dalia happily obliged telling him the individual groups in their class which consists of couple jocks, the chuunibyou who played too much eternum, the repeater and the popular kids. Caelum noticed those people were the previous Axel accompanied by a buffed black guy and slutty looking girls. 

"Oh the arrogant young masters and his ass kisser, right?"

"Ffffuuhahaha yeah that's right. They stuck up and think they rule the world just because his father is William Bardot. Though, it's best not to mess with them. Don't tell me you're aiming for that girl?"

"Hell no, I think she looks like an ass kissing slut and there are other good looking girls out there like you." 

"Smooth real smooth. Tell that to your girlfriend."

Caelum glance seeing her blush and flattered by his simple compliment made inwardly chuckle. He then notice a glare from the popular kids before they could even freeze under his gaze where death was certain. 

'This is really fun! I can't wait to use my [ Penance Curse ] and [ Karmic Inversion ]'

A two additional racial skills that he had acquired when he became an [ ArchDemon]. They are the main skill that provide the biggest bonus when it comes to racial. 

[ Penance Curse ]

[ Description: An ability that causes the target to experience pain based on how much they have relished in the suffering of others. Has no effect on light-based creatures. ]

[ Karmic Inversion ]

[ Description: A unique ability that causes a target to experience all the pain and suffering they had inflicted onto others. Only works against those who have murderous intentions towards the user. ]

This skill is useful when torturing sinner who have level of negative karma in their soul. Caelum watched him freeze still glaring at him while he suddenly heard the teacher come in and everyone finally sat back down. They didn't seem to bother doing introductions in class and went straight to the lesson which Caelum found to be disappointing.

However, ignored it and lazily listened while taking glances to Dalia wondering if he could invite her later but knowing how her regime is would likely pass. 

'Hmm, who should I invite? Maybe Nova is available and I could try convincing Penelope later.'

He would have invited Annie or Liliena but Caelum wanted to take an opportunity to spend some quality time with his cousin and get to know more about her friend Nova. He'll just spend time with them by playing Eternum. 

After a while, the school was over and Dalia departed while he headed on his own as Annie and Liliena still had things they were finishing up. Caelum wasn't worried for them to fail since he's been adding his ambrosia fruit that boost their strength and intellect.

He arrives home to see Nancy and Celine dressed in identical sweaters. They seem to be planning on going somewhere. 

"Mom, Aune Nancy? Where are you two going?"

"Your aunt invited me to go shopping with her even though I didn't want to…"

"Come on sis! This is the best time to have quality time with your best sister ever!"

"You're the only sister that I have, Nancy. Well, I've already made dinner for later."

"Hahaha, sure just have fun." 

Caelum waved at them as the two headed to the mall leaving him pondering what he should do in the meantime then recalled the shower hadn't been clean for quite some time.

'I guess it's best to do this practically!'

He started to clean the shower thoroughly without using any magic since it would be cheating and felt more accomplished if he did it practically. It always removes the fun of simple things if he were to use magic. The feeling of achieving something through luck and hard work is always more rewarding than just cheating your way through. 

Caelum is sitting in the tub deeply thinking of summoning Behemoth into the real world when the door clicks and Dalia comes in who didn't notice him.

[ Side Mission ]

[ Objective: Peek on Dalia while she is getting naked. Additionally, you can't use invisibility or anything that hide your presence. ]

[ Reward: Saintly hands ]

'Seriously!?'

[ I don't make the mission, Darling. ]

He sighed and forced to look at her while she was stripping, letting him witness quite the show. Caelum is amazed how her body had matured into a fine woman and without his mastery in controlling his body would have been rock hard right now. 

Moments later, Dalia was heading towards his direction when she froze as the two awkwardly stared at each other while Caelum tried to warily and greet her only for a foot heading toward his face and unconsciously block it.

"What the hell are you doing here!!!"

"Uhmm...sorry I was about to live but…I was just stunned by how you look and grown from the last time I've seen you naked….I mean-"

She fell silent for a moment appreciating his words causing her heart to skip a bit but another kick came and took the opportunity to dodge and move to the door but ended up in an awkward situation where he was holding Dalia trying to stop from falling where they're face was extremely up close.
