Emily's POV

I sat on a log of wood and I tended to the fire which was the only thing keeping us from freezing to death in the cold forest. For a while I watched the sky, it acted like a soothing balm and provided peace for a chaotic mind like mine.

Just watching the stars in its little glory…twinkling and living their best life made me feel just a bit better. Then I heard a whimper.

The sound came from the local crib beside me. I turned around and I stared into it…into the eyes of my perfect baby boy.

His sister was fast asleep like always and so, I picked him up.

"Hey, little darling…you are watching the stars with mama, aren't you?" I kissed his tiny nose and he smiled or maybe he was passing gas, I could never tell with them.
