Vietnam (Mantis Brandt VI) Part 9

Seeing that the priests were going to start the ceremony, I say to Polaris:

"Make a short circuit to that machine"

Using her powers, Polaris disabled the machine.

The priests were shocked by what happened to the machine.

"What happened?" The priest in charge of the ceremony asked.

"This one doesn't know sir, but the machine has stopped working" the priest in charge of the machine answered.

"Then make it work again" the head priest said.

The priests in charge of the machine nodded and began to repair it.

Seeing the priests busy fixing the machine, I decided it was time to intervene.

Leaving where we are hiding and walking, I say out loud to the priests:

"Oh, but what an interesting place you have here. You know, for a temple, this place looks more like a laboratory"

The priests are startled and look in our direction.

"Who are the intruders and how did the intruders get into this place?" a nervous head priest asked.

I just smile. The Cotati are telepathic beings but with us is Psylocke, who since we entered the temple blocked any telepathic ability in the place.

For that reason the head priest was nervous. The Cotati were the ones who always warned them of any threat and he thought that the only way we could get into the temple was to get rid of them.

"Don't be too nervous, we don't touch your plants" I said to them with a smile.

Calming down, the head priest asks:

"Then what do the intruders want from this place?"

"We came to this place looking for something but when I got to this place I find many surprises, like that machine, since as far as I know we don't have such advanced technology on Earth" I said while looking at the priest.

He calmly says:

"Of course the intruder won't find this machine anywhere else, since this ones created it"

"I guess it's normal, after all being an alien has its advantages" I said to them while smiling.

"So the intruder knew" the priest said.

The other priests next to the head priest went on guard.

Seeing that they wanted to attack us, I wasted no time.

Using 'Invisible Bullet', I quickly attacked them.

The priests fell one by one without resistance.

And of course, I didn't kill them, I just shot them in the arms and legs.

"Bastard…" the head priest said as he was trying to get up, but he couldn't.

"Well, don't say that, since it hurts my feelings" I said to him as I approached the machine.

Using my hacking skills, I check the computer. After analysis, I learned that this machine was used to enter people's minds and interact with memories.

I knew that with this, Mantis would be brainwashed.

While I was still checking the machine, I didn't notice that Mantis was regaining consciousness.
