Nike City.
The Demon Slayer Guild.
Sitting next to the counter ordering nonstop drinks. Derek was celebrating his first mission with everyone at the guild. Riley and Asrael were stuck watching this celebration of his. Sonia with a frowned face was drowning her sorrows also at a corner table.
"How did you guys really pull of that mission, I'm interested to know how you did it, so how did you do it?" asked Vera. She glared with faint smile looking at Derek.
"Why would I share that with you, just kidding we totally beat them up using only our fists! Those bandits were so weak I didn't use half of my strength." Derek replied with a loud laugher. Vera smiled puzzled by his answer.
"How strong are you?" Vera asked again. Before Derek could say something he was stop by Ladros.
"You ask too much questions, what are you after woman's?" Ladros frowned his gaze looking at Vera.
"Its not like that, I was just wondering how newbies like you could beat such powerful bandits so easily, and the bandits main forces were also crush too. Tell me how did you guys pull that off?"
"Like Derek said we use our fists, hah," Ladros grinned his eyes looking at Vera.
"It's fine. I'm happy you all made it through fine." Vera said smiling.
"What type of woman are you?" asked Ladros.
"So you want to know what type of person I am right. I am the type you shouldn't mess with or make mad." Both Vera and Ladros exchanged serious glances with each other. Vera walked off continuing to serve the other people drinks an food.
Ladros followed her around, saying, " You should find help with this."
Vera faintly smiled replying, "I've been looking but I can find someone who seems to want the job."
"I see, who would want this job." Ladros said sarcastically. "But I have someone who would like the job."
"Who's that?" Vera asked looking firm at Ladros.
"My friend, Black," Ladros replied with a smirk on his face.
"Black, are you sure he would like the job?" asked Vera.
"Yeah for sure, he likes helping out people in need. He's of a nice guy." said Ladros. Vera nodded her head.
"I'll be back with him right now."Ladros casually walked off from her sight. Then moments later he came back with Black. He pushed Black casually towards Vera side.
"I told you I would bring him," Ladros slightly smirked.
"And why I am I here of course?" Black asked with a serious voice. Ladros smiled and wicked towards him, he ignored his question. Ladros pushed Black even close to Vera.
"Don't worry Black, this girl's will help you with all those impossible things you struggle with, alright." said Ladros. Black blankly stared puzzled at Ladros, wondering what he was talking about.
Vera grabbed Black hand walking him towards the other side of the counter. Black watched in confused of what was happening? She offered him a apron to wear. Black took and wearing the apron on top of his red top.
Ladros faintly smiled raising his thumb finger, saying, "Good luck broh!" He happily walked away leaving Black with Vera.
Black frowned his eyes realizing it was all Ladros plan to leave him with Vera, but why? Vera handed a lot of dishes to both Black hands, then she casually walked off with a smile.
Moments later.
Serving table after table. Black poured drinks and waiter the other adventurers. Working fast through the time to serve everyone's well. His facial expression has began tired of the too much work.
Some of the other adventurers were making fun of Black serving them. They poured drinks on the floor to make him wipe it off, others also spill food on the floor. Black got enrage multiple times but the one thing kept him in check from reacting at them, it was Vera smiling face. When the rage could consume him up, he would take one look at Vera side an all his rage would calm down.
Vera approached Black side and smiled, saying, "You're doing good out there, thanks for not reacting to them."
"Are they like this to you?" Black asked.
"No, they are kinder to me. But the work is still the same," said Vera. Black snored his face.
"What, do they have a problem with me? Because I don't know what I could have done to have a problem with me." Black said.
"They don't need a proper reason to do it, your the new guy so they'll mess with you until they have accepted you as a member of the guild. But I'm confused why they don't go after your friends."
"Maybe they see I am the weakest."
"Yeah only a fool could believe that, I can see your true strength underneath all that fake appearance you put on front." said Vera
"You can see it?" Black lowered his brows and grinned.
"Yes, of course I can see it." Vera glared deeply at Black eyes.
Black smirked, "What revealed it?"
"You might appear weak to others but I can see you strength through that masculine physic you have there. Others maybe foolish to dismiss that physic of you as like the others but not me, I can see through everything," said Vera. She slightly smiled looking at Black with a firm expression. People easily dismiss someone power because they don't show it, or talk it. But the truth some people hide they are to stay out of they spotlight or fame.
"My physic appears normal like everyone else. Anyone can have this physic I have, but my doesn't make me different or strong. Maybe you're wrong about thing don't you think." Black stated with a firm voice. Vera slightly laughed looking at Black. She was amused by his way of denying everything and anything.
Vera pointed her index finger on Black chest, saying, "You're not a liar. Your heart even knows this for you, please don't be one of them."
"One of who?"
Vera swept her gaze at everyone, and said, "Everyone here is a liar but not you, you seem to be different, or am I wrong with you?"
Black swept his eyes his face looking dull. He wanted to tell her everything and everyone but knowing about the mortal realm discrimination of demons, he did not want to endanger his friends. Vera appeared more kind that every mortal's he have met so far. Her kind knows no bound.
"Don't worry I am not like them, and I won't break your trust or lie to you. But they are things I cannot speak off right now, please forgive," Black said, walking away to serve the tables. Vera smiled seeing him walk-off.
