Lucas Carter stretched out his hand and took the handkerchief handed over by the assistant beside him to wipe his hands clean. Looking at the half-dead person in front of him, a cruel smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

"Mr. Carter, your glasses." The assistant pointed out the bloodstain accidentally smeared on the glasses.

Lucas took off his glasses, casually wiped off the red liquid with the handkerchief, and handed both items back to his assistant, "Get rid of them."

"Yes." The assistant took them and left quickly, casting a glance full of pity at the person leaning on the chair.

Lucas appeared in the living room with a smile. The housekeeper had already led the court officials to the living room and offered them coffee.

The two of them stood up as soon as they saw Lucas.

"Please sit down, both of you. I've been unwell lately, and I just finished tidying up before welcoming you. I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience."
