CHAPTER 5 PART II

The bag included soap, mineral water (water resource), buttered meat floss bun (staple food), medical bandage (medical supply). Every single item was a necessity. Now that she thought back on it, she realised that the system had actually long given them a hint!

As the variety was limited in the storage space (ten boxes), she decided to hoard things according to the items given in the super value big gift bag. Who knew that her blind shot in the dark was correct.

"Why don't you know anything?" Wei Min Zhe was confused, "7 days into the game, haven't you been in any negative states before?"

Su Han shook her head. "I was in a noodle shop before, having the noodle with soup and usually buy soap."

Wei Min Zhe didn't know what to say. Noodles were a staple food, and soup could be counted as a water resource. Including soap, why, this fella lacked nothing at all so of course she wouldn't be able to understand the hardships people at the bottom had!

Su Han asked, "Didn't you buy personal storage space and the super value large gift bag?"

Wei Min Zhe blushed slightly. "I changed all my points into currency and got ten thousand bays in total. A pity that I only found out after entering the game that even if one buys lots of things, it's really not convenient to bring them around. After that, it was stocking up on the wrong things."

"Recently, I had to drink alcohol for my water resource, but I actually don't like drinking at all. Even unluckier, after drinking a certain amount of it, there's even a 'drunk' state, and even' alcohol poisoning' as a negative state."

"With things in the supermarket all selling out at lightning speed, nowadays it's very difficult to buy mineral bottle and others drinks."

Su Han was perplexed, "Have you never tried boiling water?"

Wei Min Zhe froze.

Su Han continued, "I stocked up on mineral water because I was afraid that water and electricity would be cut off. Why haven't you boiled water? Fill a container with some tap water and turn the gas on, that way won't it be drinkable?"

That's how the soup is made.

Lowering his head to look at himself, Wei Min Zhe was instantly filled with grievances and anger. He kept buying and buying and buying because he felt that he was very rich and never even thought about doing things himself before

Heavens knew that not only did drinking hurt his health, it made his hygiene drop even faster too!

Wei Min Zhe instantly lost all his energy, feeling like he was simply an idiot. He ruined the good cards he had in hand.

"What else do you know?" Su Han turned the topic away and continued asking. She was actually fairly satisfied already and asked him to try to see if she could get anything else out of him.

Wei Min Zhe listlessly replied, "As there are too many jobless citizens, lots of people can't afford to eat so they turn to stealing and robbing. The situation is still okay right know because they only snatch objects and won't harm people, however it'll be hard to tell in the future."

"If the general populace take all the valuable things they have at home out to exchange, they'll be bound to get at least something. But what happens after? To survive, there is probably nothing they can't do."

"The supermarket restocks at 6 sharp daily, but there are some people who will queue at 4 or 5. It's very hard to buy things. Everything in the shop gets cleaned out before 7am."

"From what I heard, there are already people with little stock at home going out picking rotten vegetables leaves that people throw away. There are also some fishing and catching birds, trying to improve their meals."

"As for the rest, I'm not too clear."

"Thank you." Su Han threw the milk over to Wei Min Zhe and then left.

Wei Min Zhe couldn't help chuckling bitterly. After knowing that he could boil water, whether or not he took the milk doesn't matter that much.

It was 1 pm and in the Four Seasons Park, there were many people surrounding the lake as they cast their fishing rods.

Suddenly, one person revealed delight on his face as he shouted excitedly, "It bit on! The fish has bitten the bait!" And then quickly reeled the line in.

And, indeed, the man managed to fish a big fat fish.

The person couldn't stop laughing joyously. He purposely started chatting with the old man next to him, "Old He, how are you? How many fish have you caught?"

In reality, sitting right beside old He, he was very clear that he had zero achievements.

Old He tried to hide the fact that he wasn't good at fishing, harrumphing, "Surnamed Ding, the hell are you shouting for! The fish have been scared away by you!"

Old Ding's lips twitched, "Don't push the blame, your bad fishing skill's just bad."

Old He was infuriated.

Old Ding continued, "Aiya, say, if you can't fish why leave the two fishing poles with you? Isn't it better to give it to someone else?"

"I'm happy to!" Old He stubbornly insisted. In reality, however, he was already backing off in his heart. It had already been three days. Other people more or less caught something, only he caught nothing.

The grain at home was nearly all finished and if nothing was done then his family could only starve! He was okay with it because he was already ancient, and it was just a matter of living a few days more or a few days less. However, it was different for his granddaughter; she was still a child!

At the thought of his granddaughter, old, He couldn't help worrying.

Just at this moment, a clear melodious female voice sounded, "Excuse me, who's fishing rod is that? Does it have an owner?"

"I'm not selling!" Old He was very agitated.

"Can I rent it then?" The female voice continued.

Rent? Surprised, old He looked up to see that it was a short-haired neat looking young lady speaking.

It was Su Han.

"Rent? How?" Old He loosened up, because he really had no confidence in his fishing skills.

"Let me use the fishing rod for four hours and at the end of it we'll split the fish caught equally." Su Han smiled confidently.

Old He was about to say what if nothing was caught, however he swallowed the words back just in time. He wouldn't be catching anything if he just put the fishing rod next to him the whole time anyway. Things wouldn't be getting any worse.

"Fine, you'll sit and fish next to me then." Old He thought, there wasn't anything to worry about since he didn't have anything to lose.
