Chapter Twenty: End in a Second

The training starts and all students began using their power. Some are to protect their group and some are to attack the other.

"Wait, they did not tell the rules!" Klien panicky said. He look to his four group mates to check if any of them knew what the rules applies in this training.

They just join earlier and not even once explain a thing about this training.

"Do any of you know about this training?" Klien asked. Li Wei raised his hand as his other hand fixed his eye glass that slides on the tip of nose back to his nose bridge.

"I know."

"First let's get near the wall, to prevent other from attacking us from behind," Florian suggested. They all move in sync as they step backwards, while they fix their eyes in front.

They all watch and see how others are attacking each other with no plan. Like all they want is to harm the other team and make them join the other students who will face a punishment.

"Let's share each other powers," Taehyun said. "I have brown magic. Something related it to the ground. I am a mud mage."

"Can you use it to shield us for a while? While we talk," Florian asked while his eyes are focused on the other group. Taehyun nod its head before he lowered his body.

He kneels his left knee while his right foot stays on the ground. He then places both his hands to the ground. The light formed on his hands and reaches the ground. They are amused to see how the ground shakes a little in his area and on how it starts to rise and create a wall made in mud.

"What can it withstand?" Da Xia asked while chewing on her gum. The four of them look at Taehyun. They do not want to doubt his power, but...

"Pretty much anything... that doesn't have much force." The four of them sigh, as they can never do a thing about it. All they just have to do is to survive so they won't face a consequence.

"It may sound disgusting, but my power is slime," Da Xia said. She opens her palm and smiles forms on her palm. Some even drop on her palm as she created too much.

They do not know what to feel as the slime looks really disgusting, they just do not understand why out of all the color it has to be a dark green? It just makes it the worst.

"I'm under a black magic. I can control shadows." Li Wei sample his power by moving his shadow without his body moving an inch. They all feel the goosebumps running all over their body as they watch how the shadow moves without the host moving at all.

"That is scary," Da Xia commented. Li Wei froze and stops what he was doing. He knows how scary his power is and how ugly it is.

"You can tell us now, Li Wei. What are the rules and how is this training works?" Klien asked. They all focused on Li Wei while Taehyun was protecting them and students were still not paying attention to them.

"It was called 'The Welcoming Training' and everyone, including the senior, is part of this training. Everyone will show their strengths, how seniors make progress and how freshman can fight despite not having proper knowledge of their own power.

"They also created this to find a freshman with a potential, someone who can be a great mage in the future and someone who hold a great power. To find those gifted students. They give those students a special treatment as they can help the town with some calamity that may happen in the future.

"The rules in this training are just simple: all the students have to hit or injure a majority of that group. In our case, since we are grouped in five, if the three of us get hurt or injured. We will lose right away--" Li Wei failed to finish his sentence when a sword pierced right through his body.

"Are you okay? What happened--" Da Xia lost her balance when an arrow hit her left arm and pierced right through it.

All of them froze until a blazing fireball fly towards Taehyun. The wall that was created on Taehyun's mud falls and makes them see what just happens outside.

All the students are looking at them and laughing as they all turned their attentions to them. It can clearly see that they all join forces just to remove them.

"You see that? We just ended them in a second." The one woman laugh as she was roaming her eyes on them. They all look pathetic, the three of them are laying on the floor, as they are all swimming in their own blood. While the two are standing still, frozen and looking so pale.

"Pathetic. They can't even hold out a little."

"Should we also injured the two of them?"

"Don't. They can join the students who will be punished."

Florian was frozen in his position. He does not know what to do. He looks at Li Wei who's laying on his side while a sword is still intact in his stomach. Then drop his eyes next to him where Da Xia is. She was lying on her back as her hand was placed on her arms to hold where the arrow was.

He then looks at Taehyun. He was half eaten by the fire and half of his body was burned. Yet seeing how pitiful they are, Florian never felt a thing.

Like it was normal for him to see a person suffering, like it never even bothers him. He does not want to tell it and say it to his group mates, but he... he feels the sword, the arrow and the fireball coming to their area, and he never said a thing. He wanted to know what will happen; he wanted to learn something.

It was foolish and selfish, but he was grateful for them. As they had become a great experiment with something he needed.
