Rosalind didn't see the logic in that. If you found someone interesting, why not talk to them? Izzy seemed to be more skilled in the social department than she was so she could probably make friends with anyone if she wanted to. 

The primary difference here was that she didn't seem to want to. She was content with her books but had talked to Rosalind because they were now sharing a room and it seemed she too wanted an ally in that house. 

"Do you like him?" she asked curiously. 

She had never had any crushes on anyone but knew that most of the girls at her school were rather preoccupied with boys. It was entirely possible her mother had a crush on the boy she dubbed M&M Guy. 

Izzy shook her head somewhat convincingly. "No. I'm pretty sure if I actually talked to him, he would turn out to be a total weirdo. He's cute though even if he has a horrendous fashion sense. Did you get a look at those glasses? They came straight out of the 70s."
