Issue #15

Jack and Rogue took the elevator down several levels. When they got off, they were greeted by a few different members of the current Avengers lineup. Many of them sent weird gazes toward Rogue, making the young woman halt her steps a few times.

Seeing this, Jack grabbed Rogue's hand as a sign of encouragement. Rogue looked down at the hand that was grabbing hers which allowed her to muster up some courage. Rogue walked with her head held high, still holding onto Jack's hand as they made their way through the hallways.

Jack nodded and said a few words to each of them but quickly moved along. His main goal was to accompany Rogue while she apologized to Carol and not hang out with the others.

The duo soon arrived outside of Carol's room. Rogue took a deep breath before she knocked on the door twice.

"Come in," they both heard the familiar voice call out from within the room

Rogue and Jack looked at each other for a moment before opening the door. Jack walked in first with Rogue right behind him.

"Hey, Jack!" Carol said, noticing Jack come in first before freezing when she saw Rogue. Carol's eyes became frosty when she saw the woman that had almost killed her arrive with her close friend.

"What is SHE doing here?" Carol questioned Jack, the anger in her voice evident

"She..." Jack said pulling Rogue in front of him, "is here to apologize and talk to you. I came as the middle man and the mediator. So I believe my job is done. I will just let you two stay in here and talk with one another."

Jack hurried to leave the room and shut the door behind him. He even froze the door shut to ensure that no one could enter or leave immediately. He made sure that Carol did not kill Rogue before the other got the chance to speak and that Carol knew the purpose of the visit. The rest was up to Rogue.

"Try not to kill each other!" Jack yelled through the ice and door before scurrying off.

Jack was going to head to the bar but when he spread out his psychic senses, he noticed that Captain America was already heading that way.

'Not in a mood to talk with him. I just came to be the emotional support for Rogue.'

Instead of heading to his original spot, Jack phased through several floors before he arrived in Natasha's room. Unfortunately, he arrived to see that she was still sleeping in and had company.

'Oh! You were serious about wanting a +2 to my wedding,' Jack thought to himself as he saw the two unfamiliar men in Natasha's bed.

Since Natasha was still sleeping and his other friends were either on missions or quit the team, Jack didn't have anything else to do. So he just decided to fly around the tower while occasionally popping up in an effort to play a game of hide and seek with Captain America.

But by the time that Rogue and Carol were done with their conversation, or at least when Jack thought they would be done, Steve had yet to find Jack.

Jack arrived back outside Carol's door where he melted the ice before walking into the room. The room was in the same state as when he had left. While the two women were sitting across from each other while drinking tea and smiling at one another.

"Glad to see that it was all peaceful," Jack smirked from the doorway

Both women turned to him and sent Jack a glare before ignoring him.

"Aww. You are just gonna use me like that and then ditch me?" Jack said, clutching his heart and pretending to be in pain

Rogue couldn't help but laugh at his roguish antics before she stood up and walked over to Jack, planting a kiss on his cheek.

"Thanks, Jack. I don't think I would have been able to come all the way here without you."

Jack rubbed the place where she kissed before smiling at the woman in front of him.

"No problem at all. Always prefer to have two friends get along instead of being enemies. But since you guys are having a good time with one another, I won't be a third wheel and head back to the Institute."

"Alright. I'll see you when I get back," Rogue agreed with Jack

Jack leaned in past Rogue and waved to Carol.

"I'll come by another day for you. But it is good to see that you are ok," Jack said to the blonde

"Thanks. Nice to see you too," Carol responded

Jack turned around and phased through the building before flying back to the Institute. When he got back, Jack immediately went to the kitchen to make some brunch for Emma and brought it up to her along with a batch of mimosas.

When Jack entered the room, he was greeted by the naked body of Emma stretching with the sunlight as her background. It truly looked like a scene out of a movie.

Seeing his beautiful fiancee like that, Jack placed the brunch he had made her down on the nightstand before he decided to devour her.

Taken by surprise, Emma had 2 more rounds with Jack after she had just woken up. Once they were done, Emma was exhausted from having sex all night and first thing after she woke up.

Feeling sore and tired after so much activity, Emma kicked Jack out of their room while she showered before getting dressed and eating the brunch that Jack had made her.

When she was about to eat it, Emma noticed that there was a note on the side of the bagels.

[Enjoy your day off. I will take care of anything you had to do today. Love, Jack.]

Emma smiled as she read the note that Jack wrote her before happily digging into the food he made her.
