Tale of The Sad Ghost (English Version)

In the morning at the University of Banten, a man named Tama just came out of the courtroom. He was the first student to graduate this year, and he got an A score. He was happy and very proud of what he had accomplished. He has been studying at the University of Banten for 4 years, now he will wait for the day when he will wear a toga (graduation clothes).

When he walked towards the cafeteria after finishing the thesis trial, he saw a student sitting in the canteen while doing something on her laptop. She is Nadia, Tama's favored since elementary school. But Tama is too shy to confess his love. He always took the same school as Nadia, up to study at the same university.

He came to Nadia and asked what she was doing. It turns out that Nadia is still busy with the revision of her thesis. Since Tama had finished the trial, he offered to help Nadia. Since they have been friends since elementary school, Nadia is no longer feels awkward with Tama. She allowed Tama to help her.

After Tama finished helping Nadia type the revision of Nadia's thesis, Nadia ordered lunch for Tama. They both ended up eating together. Tama feels very happy to be able to spend time with Nadia. But Tama feels worried because soon they will be separated after graduation. Their studies have been completed. After this, maybe Tama will rarely see Nadia. Therefore, he was determined to confess his love to Nadia after they graduated.

A month later, all students have finished the thesis trial. The day when college students will graduate is getting closer. Tama has prepared his heart to be able to express his love for Nadia. For many years he has harbored feelings, now he is determined to express his love.

On that day Tama was walking home from his campus. He walked on the sidewalk. There was an old woman selling children's toys. Because the old woman looked sad, Tama greeted her. The old woman said that her merchandise had not been sold at all. Finally, Tama gave her the money.

"Thank you, Please take one of these toys for you". The old woman said.

"No need, Grandma, hopefully, all of Grandma's merchandise is sold," Tama said.

Tama left the old woman. While watching Tama's steps, the old woman said, "He's a good boy, it's a shame his life is ending soon".

The next day is the graduation ceremony. Tama is very happy, he follows the graduation procession in a calm and orderly manner. Time passed, the graduation procession was over. All students and college students have come out of the graduation building. They are looking for their families to take pictures together, as well as Tama. But Tama's heart became uneasy because he had not met Nadia. Finally, he went to find Nadia.

Tama kept looking for Nadia until finally, he could see the face of Nadia who was laughing happily at a distance of about 10 meters from him. But when Tama was taking a step, he heard people's voices shouting "watch out", while Tama's mind went blank. What was on his mind at that time was only Nadia.

"Bruk".

The sound of an electric pole fell on him. Tama fell until his soul was forced out of his body. He heard the cries of many people around him.

"Hey, what are you crying about, why are you calling my name? hey I'm here". Tama said.

Then he approached the crowd as if they were looking at the victim. Then he saw his face which was covered in blood.

"W...a..what is this? what happened to me?". Said Tama Confused.

Not long after, the sound of an ambulance approaching the location was heard. After the ambulance arrived, Tama's body was carried by ambulance. Tama's parents got into the ambulance, while Nadia was nowhere to be found.

"Father, Mother, I'm here.. please listen to me".

It was night, Tama felt sad and lonely, he walked to his house. Several ghosts were wandering the side of the road that also ostracized him.

"Hey look at that, he must have just died". said a female ghost.

"That's right, I'm so sorry for him." Another female ghost said.

But Tama doesn't want to bother with what the ghosts say. At that time he just wanted to get home quickly.

Tama had walked quite a distance until he finally arrived in front of his house. There were a lot of people who visited his house.

"It seems my life is over. What should I do?".

Tama entered his house, there was a middle-aged woman who was crying and screaming in front of his body. That woman is his mother. Tama cries seeing the situation. He couldn't do anything to calm his mother down. He couldn't even touch it. His father continued to hold his body's hand, while the rest of his family hugged his mother to comfort her.

Tama runs out of his house. Then he stopped in front of a fairly large tree. Suddenly the wind blew hard. Then there was the sound of the gamelan (traditional instrument of java). Not long after, a woman's voice called out to him from behind.

"Ananda Pratama, are you the one who died today?"

Tama felt a little scared, he was afraid that the voice was the voice of the grim reaper who would pick him up. He slowly looked back, closing his eyes. After that, he slowly opened his eyes. Seen a woman wearing a white kebaya with a batik skirt and a yellow scarf, like the clothes of royalty in ancient times.

"Who are you?". Ask Tama.

"Me? I am your savior goddess". The woman said.

"What do you mean?"

"If you come with me and become my slave, you will not be carried away by the grim reaper". The woman said.

Tama refuses firmly because he doesn't want to be enslaved by ghosts. But the woman scared him.

"After your body is buried, the grim reaper will pick you up and you will go to the afterlife. If you want to stay here call my name, Kirana".

"No, I will never mention your name", said Tama.

Not long after, the woman disappeared from Tama's presence. The next day Tama witnessed his funeral. The sound of crying is still heard, Tama's family and friends can't seem to accept that Tama has died. But Tama did not see Nadia on that day. Then he heard the conversation of his friends who said that Nadia had left for Jakarta because she got a call for a job interview in Jakarta.

"How about it, shall we tell Nadia or not?". Ask Ara, she is Tama and Nadia's friend.

"Don't go ahead, she's in an interview, I am afraid if she won't pay attention with her interview later". Answered Devan who is also their friend.

Everyone in the cemetery one by one left Tama's grave. While Tama just sat beside his grave while observing the tombstone with his name on it. When all was gone, the clouds seemed to be shady and the wind was blowing hard.

"Ananda Pratama, you have been awaited by the almighty".

Tama is surprised to hear that. He stood up and turned towards the voice. The voice is the voice of the grim reaper. The grim reaper stretched out his hand. While Tama walked backward avoiding the grim reaper. Not wanting to go to the afterlife, he shouted Kirana's name.

"Kirana, help me".

Kirana immediately appeared in front of Tama and the Grim Reaper.

"Sorry bro, he's mine". Kirana said.

"Ah, you again". Said the Grim Reaper.

There was a fight between the Grim Reaper and Kirana, but the Grim Reaper seemed to injure Kirana until she bled. And it turns out that Kirana deliberately traps the Grim Reaper. The Grim Reaper must not injure a creature that is not destined to die. Finally, the Grim Reaper disappeared.

"Now that you are safe, let's shake hands as a sign that you agree to be my slave".

"Who are you? Are you a human or a ghost?" Ask Tama.

"Sometimes I'm a human, sometimes I'm a ghost, sometimes I'm also an animal, so let's go to my villa". Kirana said.

Finally, they shook hands, and Tama went to follow Kirana to the Villa where Kirana lived.
