So, I bet you are expecting a tale of how I defended my castle from super-powerful Devils? Well that story is not going to be told today, today we look at the mindfuckery that occurred shortly after my last update...
< 6 years ago, The Mage Queen's Castle, Hell>
As I prepared my defences for what I believed would be an impending assault by a powerful but beatable hostile force, an event occurred, one that brought me both pain and happiness.
Another rift opened.
I saw this as the chance for me and Eve to return home, back to my clan, back to my sister, a chance to prepare for whatever bullshittery Solas had up his sleeve and so after hours of convincing Eve to step through the rift, we did.
<16 years in the past, A hidden cavern, Italy>
A deep dark cavern was what was waiting for me on the other side, a few torches scattered here or there, not enough light to make out where we were but enough to see the path at our feet. Eve gathered her weapons and I ignited a small ball of fire in my hand, creating a bit of heat and light as the cavern was ridiculously cold.
"Elsha careful I can sense two beings drenched in demonic energy, they are approaching us."
A quiet voice responded "Are you sure Ddraig? No one should know we are here, we made sure to hide our tracks well, the staff is just down here, we can use it to seal Albion once more."
On hearing snippets of their conversation, my mind ran at high speeds, Ddriag? As in the legendary dragon? I hope we are not in the past, where that thing isn't sealed...
Oh, I nearly forgot, a staff! One powerful enough to assist in the sealing of a dragon? Safe to say it will be mine now, I've grown bored of my Elven one.
"Eve, you hear that?" I whisper to my companion,
"Yes, I will circle around, you approach from the front."
I nodded my head, walking as close to the two as I can before I came before a beautiful blonde woman, I assume she is Elsha and no dragon! My luck finally seems to be going upwards, sometimes I feel like I have rolled a one in my luck stat...
"Who are you and how did you find us?" Elsha asked, looking me up and down warily, to be fair I was also looking her up and down, not for the same reasons though. Medium size with an athletic build, her chainmail looked sturdy enough, the red bracer on her left arm looked familiar to the books I had seen in my castle, Ddriag's gauntlet no doubt.
"Me? I'm looking for a certain staff, the legends of my people told of its power, as the rest of them are now dead, I took it upon myself to find the item."
The blonde woman laughed before she turned to the left and easily caught Eve's sword with a draconic arm, the blade shattering against her scales.
"And who are you? What false tale are you going to tell me? Are you the dragon hunters sent after me? I thought me and your organisation had an agreement after I nearly tore your leader in two."
We both paused at that for a second, then realising the very bad position she was in Eve lept back. not before Elsha grabbed her shield, ripping it in half and throwing it at her leaping form. One half of the shield impacted her stomach, winding the Templar the other half, I managed to melt into nothingness with an extremely hot flame.
"Mater natura hic me, Dolor draconis"
(A/n: Mother Nature hear me, bring pain to the dragon. Looks better in Latin ;L)
I muttered as the dirt beneath our feet heard my call, the ground shook for a single second before chunks of solid stone erupted out of the floor, flinging themselves at Elsha, she dodged all of them, or so she thought as she stood there, with a small smug smile, a hidden boulder struck her from behind, sending her flying towards me,
"Ignis"
I say, staring the woman in the eyes as a small spark ignites the air between us, burning away at her armour, tearing through her magical defence as the smug look was replaced by pain. It appears she specialises in physical combat not magical.
"Eve are you ok? If you need to fall back, do so."
My attention was torn back to the burning girl as a draconic voice growled
"Boost."
The air around Elsha began to change, her body began to steady itself from the pain, clearly reducing it, then another,
"Boost"
Rang out in the room around me, her aura doubled once more, now suppressing mine, "Eve we need to run."
Elsha laughed and snarled "You have ignited my desire for battle and a battle we shall have, you want the staff? Come and pry it from me."
"Your not even a mage" I groan "It has no use fo"
Before I could finish my sentence a draconic arm lifted me by the throat, I couldn't even see her move, I'm fucked here, aren't I?
"The staff is now mine, a dragon's treasure, the only way to get treasure from a dragon is to slay it, you came down here into my den and tried to attack me, everything I'm doing is self-defence."
I can see Eve torn between running for her broken weapon or charging Elsha without one, I can fight her but I can't do it with Eve here, I need to set her free...
"E..v...e" I choke out, "R...u..n"
"How cute." Elsha says as she flings me across her den, slamming me into a wall, with a hiss of pain I smack into the ground.
"Sana"
I say as golden light covers my body, removing the scratches and cuts from around my throat "Eve I can beat her, all I need you to do is leave, for now, go back the way we came and wait for me there."
Eve stares at me for a few seconds, Elsha makes her choice easy as she charges at Eve,
"Obex" I shout as a large blue barrier takes the hit, shattering at the point of impact, "Eve I'm not telling you again, run."
Eve goes to argue but I think she saw something in my eyes, whatever she was about to say in protest vanishes as she nods her head and retreats.
"Ignis"
I saw once more, destroying the ceiling above the entrance to the den with a fiery explosion, sealing me and Elsha in together.
"Boost," The draconic voice says once more as I feel a punch impact my stomach, I can feel my ribs shattering at the bone.
"Sana" I groan out as my body is once again covered in golden light,
"Not again," Elsha remarks as she stamps on my body, smacking me off of the ground.
'You need me but if you free me this time we merge, the choice is yours, die here or become death incarnate. '
"Sana" I try again.
"It's not going to work, Ddraig said I can beat you faster than you can heal now, once I'm done here, I'm going to hunt down that warrior and make her watch as I kill you. Then I'm going to slowly tear her apart, you do not intrude on a dragon's den without consequ--"
'Eve is going to watch you die. Then she will d-'
"Mortem." I snarl.
My skin starts to burn away, my blonde hair burns away leaving a grey mane atop my head, my blood turns a ghastly black colour as it oozes from my chest, I can feel the corruption spreading through my body.
Following the burning magical power I had never felt before coursed through my body tearing it apart once again, re-writing it, I could feel my arms and legs extending, limbs began popping and breaking and repairing in a vicious cycle.
"What are you?" Elsha screamed as she fell backwards, as ghastly grey gargoyle-like wings erupted from my back as I slowly push myself up from the floor.
"I'm the blighted one" I snarled, taking a step toward the dragonling.
