Wow,Parrish thought, was that experience a real eye-opener or what?Although the furniture was reasonable compared to some of the high-end pieces the salesman showed him—fifteen hundred dollars for one entire room as opposed to that as the cost of a single loveseat—it could take up to eight weeks for it to be delivered.

“Thanks,” he finally told the salesman. “But I think I’d better wait until I have the rooms’ dimensions.”

“Very good idea. You wouldn’t want to fall in love with something only to discover it won’t fit. Here’s my card. Please come back to see us.”
