A crowded village (2)

I return back to the centre of the village and sit at the table outdoors. The guards surround us, and Aida sits in front of me to assist if there's any need. She spends time cutting some bread while I stir the bowl and throw my gazes here and there.

There weren't this many people just a few minutes before. They came here recently, and they're whispering among themselves.

I would think that I've attracted their attention if only they glanced here. But I'm not the centre of their concerns right now.

Are they hearing about the end of the war? Nothing has been signed yet, so there is no official peace. We just won a battle.

Oh, but they're too excited. They didn't seem to care so much about the war. It might be something else. Let's say, some new event in the village.

These people didn't glance at me twice and found me boring. If a mysterious lady can't entertain them, only something happening to one of the locals can.
