Chapter 103: Mail Delivery

A grin on my face I walked with Diluc, Leonmitchelli, and Ryner.

The four of us eventually arriving at our destination.

Twilight Manor.

Home of the Loki familia.

The the moment we arrived outside the entrance the two guards on duty took notice of us and started whispering between themselves.

Eventually though they stopped and one of them walked up towards us.

"Hello, what business do you have here?" He asked.

"Morax Lapis, captain of the Athena familia. Here to deliver a message on behalf of my goddess to either the goddess Loki herself or one of the Loki familia senior executives." I explained.

As I did so the guard simply nodded.

He then went back over to his partner and had a quick discussion.

But that only lasted a moment before his partner entered the grounds of the manor, likely to retrieve either Loki herself or Finn, Gareth, or my hope Riveria.

As the four of us waited for the guard who went off to return, a sizeable crowd started forming and taking notice of us.

We simply acknowledged them and continued patiently waiting.

"Hey, what the fuck is going on over here?!"

Well that is until a certain tsundere werewolf showed up yelling.

Bete Loga.

Coming out of the crowd he took notice of our group.

He then walked up to us.

"Who the hell are you, and why are you here?" He asked.

But I ignored him. As did the others.

Although I know Bete isn't a bad guy since I remember his backstory from my previous life, I'll be damned if I'm going to let him walk all over him like many members of the Loki familia do.

If I was the captain I would've beat his ass black and blue until he learned some semblance of proper manners.

'Really, Finn is a bit too lenient with this guy.' I thought.

Just as I did so Bete decided it would be a good idea to grab my collar.

"I said, who are you and what are you doing here?" He asked again.

As he did so I grabbed his wrist and squeezed as hard as I could.

When I did a small pop was heard and the werewolf fell to his knees.

As he did so audible grasps rang out from the Loki familia members looking at the scene.

"No way, he brought Bete to his knees."

"Who is that guy?"

"Wait, isn't he the captain of the Athena familia, Morax Lapis?"

"Yeah."

"I heard he's level five."

More and more whispers rang out but I ignored them. Instead I looked down at Bete on the ground, giving me an angry look. He then tried to move but I squeezed his wrist tighter, stopping him in his tracks.

"Don't move." I told him. "I've dislocated your wrist. But if you insist on acting out I'll break it." I told him. A completely serious look on my face.

"Why you-"

"-What is going on here?" A female voice asked.

Looking up I saw Riveria come out of the crowd, Finn right beside her.

"Oh, just the people I wanted to see." I said. "Greetings Finn and Riveria." I spoke.

"Morax Lapis, captain of the Athena familia. What brings you to our home?" Finn asked. "Also, can you please let go of Bete?"

"Sure, sure." I said. I then let go of his wrist. "But really, is the Loki familia allowing people like him in?" I questioned.

"And what do you mean by that?" Finn asked.

"We are just standing here waiting, and this guy got in our captain's face for no reason." Leonmitchelli explained.

The Loki familia members who were here since the beginning giving the same version of events.

After this happened Finn gave me an apologetic look, while Riveria glared at Bete but he ignored it.

"I apologize for that." Finn spoke.

"And I accept." I said. "I have no reason to cause strife with the Loki familia. But if it happens again I'll teach this rapid dog some manners and I won't restrain myself." I spoke. Releasing a bit of my aura as I did so. Putting a dark smile on my face to accompany it.

Finn simply nodded, as did Riveria.

Meanwhile Bete looked like he wanted to say something but kept his mouth shut.

That's the first good choice he's made since we've met.

After a moment passed I reigned in my aura.

Once I did so I nodded to Diluc and he retrieved a letter from his pocket. He then walked up to Riveria and handed it to her.

"Everything you need to know about the particulars of what we wish to discuss is in that letter." I explained. "Well then, please excuse us and have a nice day." I said.

Once I did so my group and left Twilight Manor.

And I gave myself a pat on the back at a job well done.

(3rd Person: POV)

Loki released an audible sigh from her lips.

She is currently in Finns' office with him, Riveria, and Gareth.

After Morax and his group left Twilight Manor Finn called for a meeting between all four of them and relayed the earlier events of what transpired at the entrance earlier to Gareth and the trickster God.

Which immediately soured Loki's mood.

"Really, just what was Bete thinking?" Gareth questioned.

"He's lucky Morax isn't known for his temper. Otherwise he might've lost a limb or two." Riveria added.

Well she was exaggerating just a bit.

But everyone knew what her point was.

Bete basically assaulted the captain of a different familia when he was showing him no hostility whatsoever. So Morax was well within his rights to defend himself.

And all the executives and Loki knew just how strong the Athena familia was despite its small number, especially their captain who already a first-class adventurer despite his few short years as an adventurer.

Loki in particular knew how much Athena cared for her children, and how violent she would become should someone harm them.

They were similar in that regard.

So once again, she is thankful Athena's children weren't easily aggravated and that Bete didn't actually truly attack anyone.

Because if he had the four of them in the room would be having a very different conversation right now.

"Let's just be grateful things ended the way they did." Finn spoke.

The other three nodding their heads in agreement.

After they did so Loki spoke up.

"So, what did Athena's children want?" Loki questioned.

"They delivered a letter and said all the details would be inside." Riveria spoke.

She then took out the letter Diluc handed her earlier and opened it.

Once she did the three executives and their goddess read its contents.

Leaving them all with shocked expressions on their faces.

Except for Finn.

After he finished reading the contents of the letter the gears in his mind started turning. Imagining several possible scenarios in regards to it.

"Are they serious?" Gareth asked.

"No one would deliver a letter like this if they weren't." Finn commented. "But for them to be so bold."

Loki didn't say anything.

Instead she slightly opened her eyes and put a grin on her face.

Seeing this all three executives of the familia knew Loki found the letters contents intriguing.

And now that she had there was no stopping her from moving forward in pursuing it.

Which Athena knew would happen.

Since she had a decent understanding of Loki's personality quite well.

So really, everything is moving exactly as she planned.

Loki hasn't realized it yet, but she's fallen right into the palm of Athena's hand.
