"We all have things that we have to take care of," Raiden said. "And, we can't accomplish that without getting out of this classroom."
They all stood up from behind the desk. Makie was a little hesitant but she stood together with the rest of the group.
"Let's go!" Takeshi said and started moving towards the exit of the classroom. Outside awaited them the greatest danger of their life. But they were not afraid! They believed in each other and believed to get out of school. With Raiden, filling them with utmost courage, they were unstoppable.
But when they went through the exit, all that stored courage started leaking out. The scenery of that horrible place was terrifying. Corpses, torn apart and almost chewed up. Their feet on top of the pool of blood, enough to make anyone feel sick.
They stood outside the classroom, stunlocked. On the verge of throwing up. That kind of atmosphere made them shiver from bottom to up. They felt the hopelessness of thinking about escaping this horrible sight.
But, not Raiden! He didn't lose his determination. To save Hatsuhi, he could go to any extent! He took another step into that pool of blood. He didn't look back at the group. He believed in them that they would be able to overcome their fear.
Chido, who was almost on the verge of giving up, looked up toward Raiden.
Raiden didn't stop, didn't look back nor did he fear that horrible sight surrounding them. Chido looked up to Raiden at that moment. Chido was always scared of every little thing, he was a crybaby but Raiden was the polar opposite of him, that's why Chido wanted to be like Raiden. He wanted to not cry. He wanted to become someone others could look up to.
That's why he moved. To prove to himself that he was no less better than anyone. To prove his own worth. He moved behind the paths Raiden took.
Makie didn't want to leave before and after looking at the horrible sight her conviction became even stronger. She slowly started taking her feet back inside.
Takeshi held her hand and stopped her. They both looked at each other. Takeshi slowly closed the gap between them and whispered in her ear, "Don't worry! I will protect you until the very end." He backed off with a smile on his face and started moving while holding Makie's hand.
Takeshi holding Makie's hand and his words gave her warmth in her heart. She didn't want to go but didn't want to stay behind alone either. She held herself close to Takeshi and dragged herself through that bloody corridor. They didn't let go of each other's hand and followed behind Raiden and Chido.
'That's strange,' Raiden thought. 'I threw my shoe there but now those people are nowhere to be seen? Where the hell did they go? Well… it's better as long as they aren't in our way. It looks like Chido and Maki have no problem following me now. And, Takeshi wasn't frightened that much after seeing this sight. Looks like I won't have to worry about him much!'
Now the group was walking through that corridor together. Walking on the blood, passing by the dead bodies. They tried to ignore that sight as much as possible and kept their eyes straight.
They finally reached the stairs. A body beside the staircase with its brain torn apart caught Makie's attention. It was the most brutal sight she had seen all day. She could see the brain of that body being spread around. She immediately took her gaze off of that sight and took shelter inside Takeshi's arms.
Raiden took cover behind the wall attached to the staircase. He peeked down the stairs and found them completely empty. He gave a signal to the group that it was safe to move ahead. They all nodded and followed behind him.
While going down, a certain something again caught Makie's attention. It was a shoe laying down on the further side of the corridor. 'Whose shoe it might be?' was the first thing that came to her mind.
They started going down that staircase which led them to the second floor. They walked down, very silently. As they were getting closer to the second floor, their heartbeat was increasing. Even Raiden was a little scared. Scared of the unknown which laid on the second floor.
The staircase of every floor were connected with each other so they didn't have to waste their time exploring on the second floor. They could directly take the staircase connected to the staircase of the second floor. Which would lead them to the first floor.
The second floor came and it felt no different from how everything was on the third floor. Ground full of blood and torn apart bodies. The air stunk and the sight was horrible.
They entered the second floor and looked around. Still, no one could be seen.
'Where the hell did all of them go? The third floor was empty and so is the second floor? It's hard for me to digest that we could leave the school this easily.' Raiden was totally confused. It all looked so weird to him, almost like a setup. 'But there is no way they could set up something like this. They almost felt like brain dead to me and on top of that they were blind!'
Raiden was lost in his thoughts but even while thinking he was moving ahead with the group. He looked down towards the stairs which led to the first floor. It wasn't the time to worry about his thoughts. He gave the group signal that they were now going down the stairs.
Raiden went first followed by Chido and behind them came Takeshi and Makie together.
Makie was about to put her feet on the stairs but came a grawl from her right side, from inside a classroom. Takeshi had moved down on stairs but stopped as Makie didn't follow him. He tried pulling Makie down with the grip of his hand but she was too scared to even move.
Makie stared endlessly towards that classroom which was adjacent to the staircase. She wanted to know the source of that grawl but was too scared to even move at this point.
But, then, a head popped out of that classroom. A big head that was full of blood. It was one of those people.
That sudden image startled Makie and she let out a slight scream. It wasn't too loud and she held it in immediately but it was enough to get a reaction from that man standing by her side and for the rest of their group to notice too.
Compared to Makie's scream that man grawled, even more louder and jumped toward Makie.
Makie saw the incoming threat but she was too scared to even move. That man opened his mouth and was about to attack Makie but Takeshi pulled her down towards him and caught her in his arms. That man missed Makie and collided with the railing of the staircase. But it didn't seem to have any effect on him as he immediately stood up and looked down on them.
He had no pupil in his eyes but had bloodlust all over his body. He again jumped down towards them.
Makie was too scared and closed her eyes. Takeshi didn't know what he could do about the incoming danger.
"Move away!" Raiden called out from behind and hurried up towards that incoming man. He charged with all his might and with that wooden sword in his hands. He struck that man directly in his head and sent him flying away, he hit the wall of the corridor.
"This is our chance! Let's go! Hurry!" Raiden called out to everyone.
