Sunday. 5:45 o'clock in the morning.
"Another order." Prof announced.
But instead of hearing the usual complaints, his students just lifted the corners of their lips, pasting that 'evil' grin on their faces.
"What is it?" Reis asked.
Prof pocketed his hands before resting his behind on the table. Then he lifted his brow as he exposed a mischievous sly grin.
"Be the bodyguard of one of the board members." He stated.
"Oh, isn't that just right in time? Heh." Kane commented as he stood on the door frame, puffing another smoke of cigarette.
"Oh! Why don't we just kidnap him and make him talk about the other pieces?!" Aoi blurted out, his eyes glistening even brighter than before.
Reis immediately patted Aoi's head while shaking his own head as a sign of no. Aoi immediately pouted, asking why they can't do his idea.
"That would be a breach of our contract." Reis answered.
Cale, who was sitting quietly in a corner, spoke up to explain the contract as he saw the confused look on Chess's face.
Chess was just sitting quietly too, but all this talk about kidnapping and breaching of contract is making his head hurt. He still have too many to learn about this class.
"Before we entered this class, they gave us contracts. All our job, as well as the rules and privileges, are written there. The moment we signed that piece of paper, we chained ourselves to their words. Any form of harm to the employer would be a breach on the contract and who knows what happens if we did breach the contract." He said.
Of course, Chess listened carefully.
He tried remembering his day on that room, in front of the Chairman, but he there never was anything about a contract. He wasn't given any conditions either, except for joining this 'supplemantary' class.
Oh, there's also the offer of free accommodation and donations for the orphanage that he accepted immediately.
Hmn… Did he perhaps miss something?
"It's obvious that they'll exterminate us if we breach the contract. Probably make us disappear like we didn't exist at all." Reis, who was braiding his hair, commented.
"That's why we can't breach the contract… we'll just be giving them what they want in a silver platter." Kane added.
Chess fell into a deep thought, thinking that they were probably right.
The Pawns can't breach the contract. And if they did, complete obliteration of Section 0 is the most plausible result.
The gossip…
It's possible that it was to lure them out. But if that's the case…
Why do they want to eliminate them so badly? If they did make a contract, doesn't that mean that both parties agreed on making a deal while keeping everything a secret?
Chess can't understand the higher-ups' thinking.
"Tch… boring." Aoi commented who was helping Reis on his braid.
"Boring or not, we can't lay a hand on one of the board members." Kane said, sounding final.
Right at that moment, someone appeared behind him. A bloody hand landed on Kane's shoulder, making everyone stiff.
"How 'bout a minion?"
It was Jill.
Kane immediately straightened his back as he turned to face Jill. And behind Jill, there was a man lying on the ground, looking like he was dragged here.
He had blood on his head and was unconscious.
Jill, who had blood on his hands, grinned as he placed his wounded hand before his lips.
Then, he stuck his tongue out and licked the blood away, cleaning his wound.
"I caught this little rat sneaking inside the forest." He said.
Kane showed a face full of disgust as he continued licking his wound. Jill just raised his brows, looking casual.
"Bring him in."
Kane gave way and Jill immediately complied.
Jill grabbed the unconscious man by the leg and dragged him inside the room. There was a hump on the door, but he didn't care and just pulled him casually. The man's head bounced when it bumped into the hump, making a loud noise, but no one really paid attention.
They just continued on what they were doing. Only Chess tilted his head, looking down on the man.
'That probably hurts…' he thought. The unconscious man even had blood on his head, meaning he was already hurt before even bumping his head.
Of course, even though Chess thought it might've hurt, he didn't say anything. He didn't even feel an ounce of pity for the man. He looked like someone who's up to no good, so why pity him?
"Heeya!" Jill made a sound as he dropped the man's leg. He was not the little bit gentle on the man. "Should I wake him up?"
No one answered, meaning yes.
Jill lifted his foot and softly nudged the man.
There was no response.
He did that for two more times, but when there was still no response, he kicked the man on the stomach with full force.
With that, the man's eyes jerked open, coughing blood as he tried to sit up.
"W-what?!" he blurted in shock.
The man immediately looked around, noticing the unfamiliar place and faces.
"Who---?!"
Kane cut him off.
With his cigarette dangling in his lips, he bended his knee and leveled himself with the man's eyes. The man looked so terrified as he tried to move backwards.
But he just moved an inch and he bumped into somebody else already.
"We should be asking you that… who are you?" Aoi whispered through his shoulder.
The man felt like goosebumps appeared all over his body.
He tilted his head and tried to look for an opening, but all he could see is these handsome faces surrounding him.
They are indeed handsome, but… but scary.
The man trembled in fear as their shadows covered him, losing all hopes of escape.
Chess, who was looking from a meter away, shook his head. It didn't look like they need to tie him up at all.
Aside from him, Cale and Syn, the others were all pressuring the bloodied man. Of course, Prof was one of them.
"Hey, speak if you don't want to die." Prof threatened, but his lips were twitching uncontrollably.
He's probably enjoying this and is just trying to hide his laughter. Prof likes this kind of things after all. Things similar to games.
Right now, Prof felt like he was playing the role of a bully. He can't help but enjoy this as he acted more and more childish, definitely like a typical high school bully.
"Hey, hey, what's this? Did you pee your pants?! Muwahahaha---"
"Shut it, you stupid professor."
"---haha…ha…ha." Prof's laughter started to trail off as he heard Jill's voice.
From his smiling face, he started to scowl at Jill, completely forgetting his 'role' as the bully.
"Who's stupid, you brat?!" he countered.
And there, their bickering started once again.
The three around them just sighed at their almost everyday encounter. Then, they all fixed their attention back on the man in between them.
"So? Are you talking or not?" Reis threatened him.
The man immediately shook his head, feigning ignorance as he started to sweat.
"I-I don't know w-what you're talking about!" he defended.
Reis just lifted his brow, making the man even more nervous. He started to stutter, one word after another.
Kane had his forehead creased as he didn't understand anything he said while Aoi just chewed on his gum, looking dollish as usual. Reis was on the verge of losing his patience when Cale walked over.
No, he didn't walk. Instead, he just rolled his own swivel chair towards them. He brought his surface book with him, placing the camera on the man's face.
With a stinging flash, the camera captured his face. With a simple tapping on the keyboard, data started to appear. But, it was just basic information.
"Peterson, male, ages 25, have a wife and two children." Cale read the information out loud.
The man being interrogated, Peterson, immediately widened his eyes. His pupils shook as he stared at Cale with his horrified look.
"Hmn, let's see… A 7-year-old cute little girl and a 3-year-old healthy baby boy… Oh! She studies in the XX Primary school, it's somewhere near my house… I wonder if I could go and see her tomorrow, after class?" Cale continued to blabber. Of course, it was just a threat.
But the already horrified look on Peterson's face turned even more frightened because of those words.
"No, no… Please, don't touch my kids…" he begged.
Cale, who was doing the threatening, moved his eyes away from the screen of his surface book. With a slight lift of his lips, Peterson's heart shattered in pieces.
"Why? The father doesn't want to talk, so who else should we ask?" Cale teased.
Peterson's face grew paler and paler as if he was on the verge of collapse. And, as if on cue, Prof pushed more pressure on to him.
He didn't want to lose to Cale in terms of bullying.
"That's right! Or maybe… we can talk to your wife instead?" he had a vicious look on his face as he said that, looking very much like a pervert.
As we all know, Prof is extremely feminine. With those short stubbles on his chin, he did look a little manly, but still, he was feminine. Hearing him say those words while looking like a maniac was causing them goosebumps.
Jill and the others looked at him disgustingly. Prof just raised his brows as he continued his bully play.
At this point, Peterson, who was shaking in fear, clenched his fist. He was shaking with fear, but also because of anger. His anger build up little by little with their words and threats.
And then, in the span of a second, he grabbed Prof by the collar and punched him straight on the face.
"SCUMS LIKE YOU SHOULD JUST GO AND DIE!"
He snapped.
