"We drove them away?" a sentry exclaimed in surprise after seeing the towering figures retreating. Almost all of them or many among them were fearful of the ogres reaching the walls.
Commander Barika surveyed the retreating figures, his expression guarded. He had seen enough battles to know that a victory could be fleeting, and that even retreating enemy forces could pose a threat.
"Keep watch," he ordered, his voice ringing out across the battlements. "They may be planning something else."
The sentries nodded, and turned their attention back to the battlefield outside. Barika, however, couldn't take his eyes off the retreating ogres. Something about the movements of the enemy army seemed off, almost as if they were just toying with them.
