After the encounter with Alexis, Judy was walking sluggishly through the streets. Her eyes fell on one of the billboard screen that was broadcasting the news about some flying creature. Though the video was unclear, she immediately recognized who it was as the flying thing in the video was emitting blue aura from its body.
"This can't be good. If they find out who that is and what powers she possess, she will be as good as dead. I must protect my little alien", Judy thought as she moved past the billboard screen.
Then she thought for a while and decided to head towards her mansion, which was in P-1 Street. It was the most affluent street in Area P. Judy's father, Maurice Fortin, was one of the prominent leaders of Area P and their family were counted among the wealthiest families of that area.
As Judy was brought up in the wealthiest family, she always got whatever she asked for, be it newest gadgets or trendy cloths or cars. However, one thing she always lacked was love from her father and mother. Her father was busy in political affairs and rarely had time for Judy while her mother was never affectionate towards her. All her mother cared about was clothes, jewelries, and parties.
When Judy was in the day care center with Alexis, she did not feel the void of love as she got that from her best friend Alexis. But ever since Alexis transferred to another place and disappeared from her life as a gust of wind, that void kept on growing until it engulfed her and turned her into a sadistic person.
Although she was just three years old when she had met the two years old Alexis, she had left a huge imprint in Judy's heart. And she despised Alexis for leaving her just like her family had left her, all alone in the huge mansion filled with everything but love and care.
13 years later, Judy was extremely happy when she came across a beautiful girl with the same auburn hair. She immediately recognized Alexis. But when Alexis did not recognize Judy even when she introduced herself, she felt her heart being crushed. And she had decided at that moment that she would deliberately hurt Alexis to get back at her, to make her go through the same pain that she went through.
What she did not know was that Alexis had gone through a certain procedure to seal her powers as a kid and she had no memory of her first two years at all. Had Judy known this, things would have been different now.
Nonetheless, Judy now knew that she could not bear to lose Alexis. So she wanted to protect her at all cost.
As soon as Judy arrived in her mansion she was greeted by a butler who was in charge of her, "Welcome back Miss Judy." The butler was in a proper uniform and looked a bit old. He had served the Fortin family for a very long time and was a very trusted person.
"Is father home yet?" Judy asked him as she made her way towards her father's study room.
"No, Miss Judy. He is still in his office. It seems that he won't be returning home today. If there is anything important then I'll convey the message to your father." The butler said in a very low and relaxed tone.
"No, it's alright. I'll visit his office tomorrow." Then with a heavy heart, she went to her room. All she could hope for was that Alexis wouldn't be caught out there in the Dead Zone while she was sleeping in her soft bed. For the first time she was this worried about someone else.
She kept on turning sides in her bed, unable to fall asleep. She was worried that she might lose Alexis again, this time for good. She did not care if Alexis hated her; all she cared was for her to be safe.
She passed the very long night without even getting a blink of sleep. As soon as the clock displayed it was 10 AM, she got in her car and took off towards her father's office.
She walked past several bodyguards of her father and reached in front of her father's office. His secretary was sitting behind a desk, which was right beside the door. Only that secretary and her Father could open the door to her father's office.
"Where is father? I want to talk to him. NOW." Judy stood right in front of her father's office door and demanded to the secretary.
"He is working in his room. But I'm afraid you can't see him right now. Mr. Fortin is extremely busy, Miss Judy. The World Leader himself entrusted him with a very important task. I hope you understand." The secretary tried to send her off without letting her see her father.
Judy raised one of her eyebrows and turned her head to face the secretary, "What kind of important task if I may ask?"
The secretary hesitated for a while but he could not resist the piercing looks that Judy was giving him, "You must have heard about the flying creature which was spotted in the streets of Area P, it was all over the news. As Mr. Fortin has been handling government affairs in this area, the task of finding that creature was handed over to him. He is leading the investigation right now and is busy with all the meetings and calls."
Judy's eyes sparkled when she heard this and a smirk appeared on her face, "Is that so? Then I must see him immediately, I have just the perfect tip for him which can help him in this case."
The secretary did not dare question her about what that tip was. He conveyed the message to Mr. Fortin through a call and then opened the door to his office.
Judy went inside to meet her father. But her motive was different. "Father, I think you should stop the search for that creature immediately."
Maurice narrowed his eyes and crossed her immediately, "And why is that so?"
Judy was afraid of her father; he was the only person whom she was afraid of and yet she stood her ground and started to weave some lies, "That flying creature that you are after is actually me. I was doing some experiment and managed to make a pair of boots with propellers. I was carrying out some tests yesterday but I ended up in the Dead Zone. Had I known earlier that you were after looking for that flying creature, I would have come to you."
Her father had unbothered look in his face and asked, "So you're telling me you managed to make flying boots?"
Judy's heart started to beat faster, "Yes."
"And I should believe you?" Maurice said in a mocking tone.
"Yes. If you don't believe me then you can continue your search and waste the taxpayer's points. I just wanted to save you from wasting your time and effort by chasing ME. By the way, if you failed to notice, I'm right in front of you." Judy tried to get to her father by being sarcastic.
"I don't know why you are lying and wasting my time. But the military already got a lead. They reported a while ago that the dogs tracked down something. They lost that thing near a cliff but they are getting ready to scout that area." Maurice let in a little insider information to his daughter hoping that she'll leave him alone.
"And I don't know if those dogs tracked a squirrel or a bird, but I can guarantee that it is not a humanoid creature. Because that humanoid creature is standing right in front of you." Judy raised her voice a little to emphasize her point.
"We will find out in a bit. Go home Judy. I don't want you causing any more troubles. Taking you out of jail was enough of shame for me." Maurice said this in a cold voice without even looking at Judy.
After hearing this, Judy felt as if something pierced her heart. Then without saying another word, she dashed off towards her car. Then she decided to go to the Dead Zone to look for Alexis and headed that way.
