Alexis's body slowly started to levitate in the air. Judy was taken aback and she just kept on staring at Alexis. Her body started to levitate vertically, her eyes still closed. The azure fire started to glow even more but it did not seem to do any harm to her body, not even a single strand of her auburn hair was burnt.
After about a minute a sudden energy burst left Alexis's body, the burst was so powerful that everything within 10 meter radius were either damaged or destroyed. Judy was blown away and landed very badly on the ground causing several injuries.
Alexis opened her eyes; her emerald pupils were bigger in size and were glowing. Her dark ginger hair floating behind her head as if the was wind blowing. Her face had vacant expression. She tilted her head and looked at injured Judy who was not very far from her. Alexis did not seem to recognize Judy and also did not seem to be familiar with the surrounding. After scanning the area around her, she flew away.
Judy witnessed everything. How she thought Alexis was dead, but suddenly she was on fire, how she started to levitate, and then flew away. She flew! Judy's lips curled upwards to form a smirk, "Seems like I was right about my little alien. It wasn't just a dream. There was something other-worldly about her." She then laid down flat on the ground and stared at the clouds, the smile on her face unfading.
The screens and billboards on the skyscrapers were now filled with the breaking news. Holographic video of the news reporters could also be seen in the major city squares.
"Just a few moments ago many civilians reported to have seen a humanoid creature that was flying over the street of P-97 and P-98 until it headed towards the abandoned site and finally disappeared. One of our reporters managed to capture the video of that creature. Let's take a look at the video."
Several news channels started to broadcast the video. However, those videos seemed to be either too blurry or too haphazardly taken. The people who were walking on the street were amused by the news. They stopped for a while to take a look and capture the video in their own cell phones.
The news reporter kept on going, "The authorities have not yet published a formal press release regarding the unidentified flying creature. Let's hope that the authorities will capture that creature before it can do any harm to the humankind. Stay tuned to our channel to know more about it."
Within half an hour, the video was circulated throughout the social media. It became hot topic for everyone, especially for the residents of Area P, as the incident had occurred in their area. Several speculations about the humanoid creature were going on. Some were saying that it was a cheap government tactics to divert the attention of people from urgent political matters; some were saying that it was an alien who came to spy on Earth; while some were simply enjoying the chaos.
Due to the excessive media coverage, this matter immediately caught the government's eye. Within an hour an investigation committee was set up and military experts were deployed towards the abandoned area to search for that humanoid creature.
That particular area in the outskirts of the city was abandoned for decades after the war between Earth and C-31 took place. That specific area was heavily damaged as it took majority of the attacks from the battlecrafts of C-31.
When the 4th World Leader came into power after the war, he divided the Earth into 20 Areas represented by each alphabet from A to T. And this abandoned area was not a part of any of those 20 Areas. Rather, it was referred to as the Dead Zone. And nobody, except the military, was allowed to enter this area citing the fact that civilians might activate any dormant weapons by accident and cause mass destruction.
Now, the Dead Zone looked more like a treasure hunt jungle. The military had set a few camps there and other than that there were ruins of buildings that happened to be there before the war. After it was left out of human intervention for decades, nature had found its way to grow trees and plants alongside the ruins.
If one went to look around that place, they would also stumble upon ruins of battlecraft, both from Earth and C-31. They would also find spacesuits, armors, laser guns, torpedoes, and many similar remnants of the war. The government did not want the alien technologies to fall into the wrong hands, which was another reason behind sealing off the place.
Vorian was pacing to and fro in his room waiting for Alexis to contact him. He wanted to know whether the micro camera was found and whether the ones who beat her unconscious were taken into custody. He looked at the watch and it was already 7. "Alexis must have reached her home by now", he thought.
And then he grabbed his cell phone and opened his Soulmate app to request to project himself. To his dismay, there was no acceptance from Alexis. He sent her a text message thinking that she must have been in a place where she could not accept the project request.
He waited for 10 minutes but there was no reply to his text either. Now he was visibly worried for Alexis. He remembered how afraid she was when she talked to him earlier and feared that something bad might have happened to her again. Then he tried calling her directly for a few more times but the call was also not received from the other side.
Vorian remembered that he also had Natalia's phone number so he decided to call her instead and ask Alexis's whereabouts. The phone rang and to his relief, Natalia picked up the call, "Hello!"
"Hey! Natalia, I'm Vorian. Do you by chance know where Alexis might be? She is not picking up my call and I'm starting to get a little worried", Vorian asked Natalia about Alexis in a single breathe.
Natalia was in a bit of shock when she heard this, "What? She should be home by now." Then she tried to reason with herself that Alexis was safe and sound, "I don't think anything happened in the way because she told me that those three girls were already taken into custody. Are you sure she is not picking up your call because she is mad at you?"
Vorian scoffed and squinted his eyes, "What? Why would she be mad at me? I haven't done anything."
Natalia narrowed her eyes and asked again, "You sure?"
"Of course I am. Focus please." Vorian then talked in a serious tone, "I hope nothing bad happened to her. Can you do something to contact her?"
"Okay! I'll try calling her. And if she doesn't pick up, I'll head towards her home." Natalia tried to reassure Vorian as he genuinely sounded to be worried about Alexis.
"Contact me immediately if you find her."
"I will", Natalia cut the call and then immediately tried calling Alexis. She tried calling her for 3-4 times but there was no answer. "Did something happen again? No, it can't be. All of them are in police custody." But in her heart she felt that Alexis might be in trouble again, "I better head towards her home." Then Natalia took her cell phones and dashed out to find a cab.
Melissa had just finished her duty and was walking on the hallway of her hospital to head for home. The screen placed above the reception desk caught her eyes. She immediately covered her mouth with her hand and was stunned when she saw the news about a flying humanoid creature. A whisper slipped through her trembling lips, "Oh dear! What have you done?"
