Chapter 22

Tuesday

Today Adrianna, Taylor, and Gregg start school at Hunters Hollow High. The four of us all walk to school. We catch up to Julian and Lola. Those two have been hanging out a lot lately.

I mean of course they kinda have to since Julian is crashing at Lola's house. But I mean its kinda getting a little excessive. She ignores my calls, doesn't text back, and apparently Julian is much better company than Mandy and I.

I know I sound like a jealous bitch but they aren't even dating... Julian is replacing me.

I walk into chemistry class. I plop down into my chair throwing my backpack on the ground.

"What's wrong girly?" Casey asks

"Just feeling replaced is all." I sigh

"Julian?" She asked

"Yeah, how'd you know?" I asks

"It's plastered all over your face." Casey says

"Really? Is it that obvious?" I sigh

I slump in my chair. Mrs Hill hands out of tests that we took Thursday. I look at my paper delighted to see I passed with a 76%... My moms gonna kill me! Shit! I better think of someways to make this up.

The Gregg walked in looking confused as hell.

"Is this the chemistry class?" He asked

"There are several in this school what teacher do you have for chem?" Mrs Hill asks

"Ummm... Mrs Hill." He read from his schedule

"That's me." She smiled

"Thank god because I've been to like three other classes and the teachers all looked at me like my hair was on fire." Gregg said

"Gregg you can sit next to Casey, since she has no one assigned next to her." Mrs Hill said

Just then my phone dinged. It was from Taylor.

Just saw Adrianna run out of school.

I replied,

Do you know why?

No.

Damn it... I gotta go get her.

Why?

Because if she misses school my mom is going to have her skinned

Really?

No, it's figurative

I know I just don't know your mom that well

"Mrs Hill can I be excused?" I ask

"Sure." She says

I walk out of class and run out of the school. I check my house first. Nope, the woods! I found Adrianna hunched up at the trunk of a tree. She was crying her eyes out.

"Adrianna?" I ask

She continued to cry not even acknowledging me standing right in front of her.

"What's wrong?" I ask

"Mandy." She slowly answered

"What about her?" I ask

"She's missing." She says

She must mean her friend back in wicked hollows...

"I'm sorry." I say

"I just wish I could have been there, you know, I don't know how or why she's missing but I was I could get back and since the plane is being stalled I can't get back home." Adrianna looked at me

"I wish I could say I understand, but I don't... But what I do understand is how it feels when someone you love is hurt or lost... It sucks and I know... But you can't just run out of school, sometimes we have to deal with these things by putting on a mask and then there are other times that the mask needs to come off, but I want you to walk back into the school with me, get a drink, wipe yourface off, and get to class and through the rest of the day... Understood?" I ask

"Yeah." She stands up and engulfed me with a hug

"Thank you." She smiled

"I'm always going to be here for you." I say

We walk back into school only to be greeted by principal James.

"Why where the both of you outside?" She asks

Adrianna looks at me.

"I started my period and I needed stuff, I didn't bring any but Adrianna had some in her car so we went to get it." I say

"Okay but next time you go off campus please to me or the office." She says

"Okay." I say

Principal James leaves us in the hall.

"You okay now?" I ask

"Yeah." She says

"Anytime you need someone to talk to just come to me, okay?" I say

She walks into her class and I cross the hall to mine. I sat down and listened to was Mrs Hill was talking about.

Hours later school ended. Gregg, Taylor, Adrianna, and I all got into my car and drove home.

We got out and walked in. My mom was sitting in the couch.

"Since your plane is still stalled I took the liberty of calling your parents, they said it's fine if you stayed until the summer to finish your sophomore year here." Mom said

"Are you sure you where talking to my mom?" Taylor asked

"Her name is Sherry right?" Mom asked Taylor

"Yeah." Taylor says

"Well then yes I'm sure I was talking to her." Mom says

"So we will be going home at summer time?" Adrianna asked

"Yeah." Mom said

Adrianna groaned

"Not that I don't love you guys or anything it's just that I miss home." She said

"Me too." Gregg said

"Don't we all, but we only have a couple more months left... Get over it." Taylor said

She walked off to her room and shut the door... Wonder what her problem is. Probably the stress of school.

There was a knock at my door.

"I'll get it." I say

I open the door and there was Ben and Mandy.

"Hey wanna hang out?" They ask

"Where?" I ask

"The mall." Ben said in a duh tone

"Sure let me get my shoes." I say

We get to the mall. We walk past the food court and farther into the mall by all the shops.

"What's up?" I ask

"I have news." Ben says

"What's up?" I ask

"So you know how I have a couple honors classes with Killian?" Ben asked

"Yeah." Mandy and I both say

"So our teacher is making us do a project in that class and she pair Killian and I together... And now he's been talking to me... I'm gonna die." Ben smiled

"Don't die on us." Mandy said
