Chapter 74: Lies and Alibies

Two uniformed policemen came into her room, shortly after she arrived at the hospital, to ask questions. Officer Cook and Adams looked like complete opposites. Cook was middle-aged, balding, and overweight, whereas Adams was young, ripped, and handsome with his full head of wavy blonde hair.

Cassie relayed what happened, telling them that she discharged Randy's stun gun, which he kept on his bedside table, to stop Melody from attacking Randy. She told them Melody accused Randy of cheating on her with Cassie, which wasn't the case. Both men seemed supportive of her story, but they kept probing.

"So, you knew that Randy had relations with Melody before her husband went missing?"

Cassie nodded. "He told me about it when he ended it with her weeks ago. Apparently, she has an issue with letting him go. He and I are together, now."

"You were aware that her husband went missing?" Adams added.
