Gazing into the night sky, I realized something. I need to find myself a place to sleep in as there's no way I would be sleeping on the street. I Don't want anything bad to happen to me.
Even if I was a flat-chested girl, perverts would still be perverts and wouldn't mind that at all. As I was still a girl and it wouldn't be that wise for me to sleep on the street. I might be rape while I was sleeping and I do not want that to happen at all.
Thinking about it feels really weird...
As this was a world of fantasy, I bet that there's an inn here nearby. This was the adventurer district so it must have an inn for those guys to have a drink after completing their quest.
It wouldn't be that hard to find, just need to hear some loud sound and it probably is the inn. Because from what I had seen inside Chronicle Legacy, the inn could be a rowdy place as the NPC usually starts a brawl when they're drunk enough.
...
While roaming down the district trying to find the inn. I stumbled upon something that I shouldn't be, that was some thugs.
The thugs didn't harass me as they're actually targeting a girl with a red dress and very colorful hair. By the look of it, it seems like the girl was from a noble family or something like that.
I wanted to help her of course but I realized that I might just be adding more trouble. As I know that I can't fight bandits, for now, I am just on level 4 and my stats scaling wouldn't work against humans.
But again, why would there be thugs here? Wasn't this supposed to be an area full of adventurers? thugs wouldn't dare to enter unless they're actually adventurers themselves. When I think that... it might be a possibility that they're indeed adventurers.
As adventurers were basically mercenaries, without an employer requesting their services. They basically have nothing to do and there's no money to be made. Hence that's why I think they're robbing people out, as they needed the money right at the moment.
Still figuring it out wouldn't help the situation at all, whether they're thugs or adventurers. There's no way I could fight them. I am far too weak and if they're indeed adventurers, their level might be much higher than mine so the chance of me defeating them would be zero.
The best that I could do was to inform the guards and hope they will arrive here before anything happens at all.
With that, I quickly head back as I remember that there's a guard that was stationed in between the merchant district and the district that I am currently in right now. I went to the guard place as fast as I could.
...
But sadly when I managed to contact the guard and tell him what had happened, we both rushed there but the girl and the two thugs had already gone. What was left was a small red ribbon, it was a piece of her clothing that might have fallen off.
As I did see the thugs trying to drag her... I feel bad as I wasn't there to help her. Should have just interfered back then as probably the thugs wouldn't be seeing me coming as they're both too focused on the girl.
Did I make the wrong decision here?
Because the girl wasn't there anymore, the guards asked me a few questions. I told the guard everything that I know but when the guard questions me about the thug's faces. I just don't have the answer as they're both hiding its face with a piece of cloth.
I was somewhat relieved that the guard did trust me as I thought that guard would tell me that I must have been seeing things. He then said that he would start to investigate what happened. The guard also mentions that there's been a lot of missing woman reports on Gria Town recently.
"Really? Do you have any clue who did that..." I ask the guard.
"So far, we had absolutely zero lead at all like the one that abducted these women is quite good at hiding its track. But of course, the guards wouldn't stop until we find who did that."
"That's good."
"It's pretty late already, do you need an escort back to your house? It would be dangerous to walk alone..." The guard asks me.
"No thanks, I will do fine."
As I was just about to leave, I then remembered something. I quickly turn around and ask the guard where the inn is in this area. The guards then pointed me in the direction towards the place that I wanted to be.
"You would then see a big sign soon, it's called Liala Innkeep... you wouldn't miss it at all. That place is just too noisy." The guard says that towards me.
With that, I thanked the guard and left the area. While I was walking toward the inn, I felt sorry for what might happen to that girl. I shouldn't have left her like that, I could do something. All I could do now was hope everything would work out for the guards, to find all of the missing women that had been kidnapped.
As I was afraid that I might get kidnapped as well, I walked a little bit faster towards the inn. A few minutes later, I finally arrived at the inn that I was searching for all of this time.
Indeed the sign was clearly big enough and it does say Liala Innkeep on it. Of course, what the guards had told me also seems to be true as well, the noise coming inside the inn was just too loud.
Will I be able to sleep through that kind of noise? Wish that noise would settle down a bit when it was past midnight or else there's no way I could sleep.
