Zamir left the room and the two white-haired, golden-eyed cultivators looked at each other in silence, not knowing what to say.
After a few minutes went by, they both spoke at the same time,
"The tests...You have not finished them."
"Please save my brother."
Pei let Lord Raizel's words sink in and he lowered his eyes. What had he been thinking? Some kind of father-son bonding moment, he scoffed. It made sense that Lord Raizel would be more interested in the uncompleted tests than in getting to know him.
Lord Raizel did not like him, It was fine. It was not compulsory for the apex cultivator of Terra to like or even want a child that had nothing to do with its procreation. He was not his dad, Pei acknowledged in his mind, even though he could feel a childish part of him that wanted to see it that way.
It was perfectly understandable and normal for him to mean nothing to this man. He was used to such matters.
