(Alban POV)
Escaping from the town was much easier when I have companions that can fight as well as me.
My companions changed their armor from the dead. and they looked properly like the loyalist troops.
We caught up with main fleeing forces, And later I meet my commanding officer Ser Alliser Thorne. I introduced my companions to him and explained that they were from the different contingent. Then I told him my accomplishment and he was delighted to hear that I almost killed a Lord paramount. He told me that he will notify the king about my contribution.
A few days later we arrived at the capital and all four of us returned to my family's house. When I knocked on the door a beautiful maiden open it for us.
And she spoke, " welcome back Alban."
And I replied " Yes it's good to be back Linda. And thank you for taking care of the house."
Then Linda spoke " you don't have to thank me for that Alban. And who's are your companions ?"
Then I introduced my companions to her "Ah...yes the one-eyed here is Ser Morty Loudmouth. The one with the long face Ser Rick Longsword. And the last one is Ser Alfy Fastrider. We trained under the same knight."
She spoke," please don't stand there Sers, come in, I'll prepare something."
But before she leaves Morty got in front of her and kissed her hand and spoke " Nice to meet you, Mademoiselle, I'm Ser Morty the bright eye. But please call me Morty."
She blushed from his flirting and that made me a little jealous so I kicked his ars and removed him from front of her. Then I looked at her " Alright Linda, you have do not have to do anything, we can do everything on our own. We are having a feast tonight. So you and all of your friends are invited."
After she left the house Alfy approached me and spoke " Is that your lover Alban? I must admit she's more beautiful than colt's wife in the Vale. So when are you going to marry her or do you have other plans?"
Linda is one of my childhood friends I never thought about that. But I must admit that I love her and maybe she's one of the reasons that I did not leave the city. " Maybe tonight I'll propose to her and see what she says."
Then Rick spoke " Well, So why did you told her to bring her friends? You know that we each have a different mission. And ser Alan clearly explained what could happen to this city. You should take this more seriously."
Then Morty got up and grabbed him by the solder and spoke " oh... come on Rick, you're personality is becoming more like Claw. I know why Alban told her that. Because he does not want us to ogling at his lover. But Alban still has my thanks for the consideration. Because I will fully enjoy tonight's feast. And I hope her friends are as cute as her."
Then Rick removed Morty's arm from his solder and replied " The mission comes first. We can enjoy ourselves after everything is over."
Then Alfy spoke " it's okay Rick, it's just one night. And think about it, we might die the very next day. So we might have some fun while we are still alive."
Well, Alfy has a point " Alright, everyone gets a shower and wears my clothes. We going to shopping. And tonight we're making barbecue."
Then we did the shopping and in the night we had fun for two weeks. Then the We gave Rick our farewell at the harbor. Then Morty told me that he will start his detective job and left us.
So Alfy and I returned home but I saw a few goldcloaks are currently waiting outside of my house.
Then one of them approached me and spoke, " I'm Captain Tom, are you Ser Alban Whitesteel ?"
" Yes, captain Tom I'm am," I answered him. he seems polite.
"Well Ser, By the order of the crown we came here to escort you to the court," he spoke his reason for coming here.
"Well captain, give us ten minutes we will be ready. You can wait inside my house." he refused.
Then me and Alfy equipped our armor. Gods, I do feel ten times confident wearing my battle gear.
" Alright captain Tom, you can escort us now".
I never have permission to visit The Redkeep but my father did when he worked as a captain of the Goldcloaks. And he explained to us when we were little, about the history and structure of the main seat of power that controls the seven kingdoms.
The Red Keep is a castle on Aegon's Hill in King's Landing, the capital of the Seven Kingdoms. The Red Keep contains the Iron Throne and is the home of King Aerys Targaryen II, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms.
The Red Keep is made of pale red stone and overlooks the mouth of the Blackwater Rush. The Red Keep has seven massive drum-towers crowned with iron ramparts. The castle is smaller than Winterfell and is patrolled by gold cloaks. Much of the Red Keep is connected underground.
Massive curtain walls surround the castle, with nests and crenelations for archers. Thick stone parapets, some four feet high, protect the outer edge of the wall ramparts, where the heads of traitors are traditionally placed on iron spikes between the crenels at the gatehouse. The walls have great bronze gates and portcullises, with narrow postern doors nearby. The castle also has great cornerforts. The immense barbican has a cobbled square in front of it. Behind the walls are small inner yards, vaulted halls, covered bridges, barracks of the City Watch of King's Landing, dungeons, granaries, kennels, and stables.
The Red Keep has serpentine steps which can be strenuous to climb. Maegor's Holdfast, the small council chambers, the Tower of the Hand, the lower bailey, a small sunken courtyard, and the black cells are located below the steps. The Great Hall with the throne room is found above the steps, and the outer yard or ward is found near the main gate. Also above the steps are the godswood, the river walk, the small kitchen, and the pig yard. The royal sept and the Maidenvault are located above the serpentine steps as well.
Relics of the Targaryen dynasty, such as dusty suits of black armor, sit in some corridors. Doors are made of oak banded with black iron. Sweet-smelling rushes can be spread on floors. The Red Keep is full of cats, including those kept as pets as well as strays, like a black tomcat. Though I never believed the last part, about the cats. but after seeing so many of them I had to believe what my father said was true.
Then Maegor's Holdfast is a massive square fortress inside the heart of the Red Keep. The castle-within-a-castle is situated behind walls twelve feet thick and a dry moat lined with iron spikes. Maegor's Holdfast includes the royal apartments, and the king's bed-chamber contains a canopied bed and twin hearths. The holdfast also contains the Queen's Ballroom. But we never heard that queen Rehalle ever arranged any ball.
Then the Tower of the Hand contains the chambers of the Hand of the King and the Small Hall. The building has a solar and a garderobe, as well as tall windows. Below the tower is the chamber of the dragon mosaic.
Then the last and my favorite The white Sword Tower. And me and Alaric ones asked the father to take us there but he told us that without the permission of the king or any of the small council members nobody is allowed to enter the Red keep. So all we could do is listen.
White Sword Tower is a slender four-storied structure built into an angle of the castle wall overlooking Blackwater Bay. It has winding steps.
The first floor contains the common room for the Kingsguard, the Round Room, a circular white room. White wool hangings decorate its whitewashed stone walls, and a white shield and two crossed longswords are mounted over the hearth. The room contains a large weirwood table carved in the shape of a shield supported by three white stallions, and three knights sit on each side. The chair of the Lord Commander, old black oak with blanched cowhide cushions, sits at the top of the shield. The common room also contains the White Book.
The undercroft holds arms and armor, while the second and third floors hold the small sparse sleeping cells for six brothers of the Kingsguard. The topmost floor contains the apartments of the Lord Commander. His rooms are sparse as well, but spacious, and they stand above the outer walls. His wall hangings and bed draperies are white.
This information isn't very secret because every gold cloak that works here knows. But it was very fascinating when we were little and dreamed to become a knight.
Talking about the information, asked Tom the Goldcloak captain about the situation. And learned most of it.
Lord John Connington is exiled to essos because of his incompetency to defeat the Rebels.
And Ser Alliser Thorne is appointed to the city defense.
Ser Barristan selmy and Ser Jonothor Darry have currently gathered another army from the southern Riverland and Crownlands and the Reach. And prince Lewyn Martell is gone to escort 10 thousand Dornish reinforcement. And the lord commander is also sent to find the crown prince. And the other two remaining Kingsguards are with the prince.
The prince has returned but the lord commander Gerold Hightower did not.
And currently holding his war meetings with the remaining Kingsguards. He will March North after the dornish forces arrive here. It's the only information that I got from Tom. And he knows all this information because he's the assistant of the lord commander of the City Watch.
Then come in front of the massive Great Hall.
The Great Hall contains the throne room of the king. The Iron Throne sits on a raised iron dais with high and narrow steps. A long carpet stretches from the throne to the hall's great oak-and-bronze doors. The cavernous Great Hall can feast on a thousand people. The hall is oriented north to south, with high, narrow windows on the eastern and western walls. Skulls of the Targaryen dragons adorned the walls. Located behind the Iron Throne is the king's door, a private exit.
The second-largest chamber in Westeros after Harrenhal, And now I have visited both of them. I felt a little nervous now because of all these dragon skulls, Then I spot the King on his throne talking to a little boy. hmm... maybe that's prince viserys.
I saw just one kingsguard guarding him. Then the herald announced the king's name we kneeled before the king. The Great Hall does not have many people and they are must be the council members.
The king brought his attention back to us. I know how dangerous situation I'm currently in and one wrong word can mean death with wildfire.
The king spoke with his horrible tone, " So your the knight that injured the traitorous Tully and the other one killed The Arryns hair?"
I replied, " Yes, your grace."
The king spoke again," Do you have proofs of your claim ?"
I replied, " Ser Alliser Thorne can vouch for us."
The king spoke " Yes, it's because of him that you both are here. But do you have anyone that saw you in action?"
I can't show weakness now so confidently replied " We do not have the witness, your grace. But we have our skills to prove them. Though we can fight your champion to prove our claims. But forgive me my king we can't defeat the Dragons fire."
The last part was a joke and the room became deadly silent. But to my shock, the king started to laugh. Though none in Hall joined him. Then he spoke " hahaha... yes it is true none can defeat the Dragons fire. You do understand the power of the dragon But fear not you won't be facing the fire." Then he looked at the kingsguard "Ser Jaime Lannister your King commands it, test his sword skills but do not kill him. because he'll die in flame if his claims are false."
