The chances.

"I don't even know why. The journal clearly states-"

My aunt had just come back from work and decided the house was dirty.

So now, she's in the dining room with papers scattered all over the table and she's talking on the phone with her co-worker.

"That's exactly what it means if we write up-" A knock comes through the door, and I drop my sweeper to go answer it.

"I'll go. I'm expecting a package and I want you nowhere near it." She stands up. "I'll have to call you back Smith." She hangs up and walks to the door.

I resume my sweeping.

"Oh! Hi Chloe. What are you doing here?" My aunt's pretentious voice takes over.

Chloe? What's she doing here.

"Hi aunt Mary, I came to see Raven."

"Raven? Why?"

Yeah why?

I walk towards the door and I see Chloe smile at me.

"Well, it's been a while since I've had a time with my best friend so I thought today's the perfect day."

"But it's a school night. You shouldn't be going out on a school night should you?" Aunt Mary folds her arms together.

"I'm pretty sure I saw Lisa downtown having fun and she doesn't look like she's coming home soon." Chloe sighs. "And it's a school night." She repeats.

"Raven has a lot to do, so she's really busy right now." Aunt Mary argues again. And again, Chloe sighs.

"It'd be a pity for my dad to find out that you refused to allow me have fun with my bestie."

"What?" Aunt Mary asks in shock and I chuckle.

"You know, when you sent me out of your house and slammed the door on my face." She says innocently

"I never did any of that!" Aunt Mary defends.

"What a shame! The words you spoke hurt me dearly and that's why I came home with a teary eye." Chloe wipes an imaginary tear from her eye.

"What?" Aunt Mary says again.

I'm so loving this.

"So it's a yes then?" Chloe asks with a smile and aunt Mary nods.

She then grabs my arm and pulls me outside.

"Thanks aunt Mary. I'm sure my dad would be glad to hear how much you're good to me." Chloe starts to pull me away. "We'll be back by midnight!" She shouts and pulls me in for a run.

We run for like ten minutes before I finally come to a stop.

"You!" I point to her. "I can't believe you threatened her like that."

"Aren't I great?" She flips her hair. "I wanted to spend time with my best friend and I knew she'd say no, so I mentioned my dad's name."

"You're sneaky." We start walking. This time, slowly.

"Aren't I great at acting?" She hooks her arm with mine.

"Very." I nod and she smile. "Where are we going anyway? You didn't bring your car."

"First, my driver brought me. Second, there's a new movie that shows tonight and I didn't want to watch it alone."

"But I'm not dressed for it." I argue.

"Trust me, you look fine."

I'm dressed in grey sweatpants, black baggy t-shirt and white sneakers. My hair's packed in a low ponytail with two curly strands in front.

Chloe's dressed in a brown plaid pencil mini skirt, a blue crop top and black tie high boots. She didn't pack her hair, but it was curlier than usual.

Thank goodness I had my phone in my pocket.

"I told my brother to come watch the movie with us.". Chloe speaks up as we buy tickets.

"And what did he say?"

"No. But imagine it in a deeper and lazy tone." I laugh.

"What's your brother like?" I ask as the man behind the counter hands us our tickets.

Guess we are seeing 'Shawman deputy."

"Well, you already know we're twins." I nod. "Unlike my greyish blue eyes, he has grey ones. Unlike my blond hair, he has black curly ones. He carries this air of authority around him that makes him look tough and scary. He's stubborn, rude, and doesn't give a damn about your privacy. He likes to be alone and he likes quiet places. Danger and him are like best friends and oh, he's a dickhead." She finishes and I nod.

"He kind of reminds me of someone I met. Wouldn't mind his business." I say as I remember the guy that helped me.

"He may look tough but he can't hurt you. He has this kind of rule of not hitting girls. And also can't watch girls get beaten."

"Wow."

"Hey." She stops in front of me. "What are the chances we're talking about the same guy? I mean, the guy you met which you haven't told me about by the way, sounds like my brother." I roll my eyes.

"Yeah right. I'd know if he was your brother. You're twins."

"We don't exactly look alike."

"Whatever. Let's go in, the movie's about to start." I pull her hand and we go hand over our tickets.
