Gains and Loses

He forgot what he had been doing. They both did since they were looking at the person they never thought they would see. 

Fortunately, he had already laid down the last brick. The restructuring was completed successfully with a reward he didn't see coming. 

The woman stood regal, her crown resting perfectly on her head. Since she was just a soul, the rest couldn't see her except for her two sons. 

Unfortunately, her gaze rested on the only son she knew and failed to see the hurt in the other. An action she was oblivious to but quite hurtful to the one who had yearned for her love for a long time now. 

Malik sadly tore his gaze off of the woman. It was hard for him to do so but he did. His feet found the strength to stand back up with the help of Yasmin.
