Chapter 28

Well, the five of us reached Mystic falls high as we tried to talk to other kids about Sasha and Dana. But Landon was pretty much annoying the hell out of Hope who pretty much told him off and walked away as Landon tried to follow her only to fun into a barrier as everyone around him seems to not notice him nor hear him as turned around to see a smiling Alex who grabbed him by the throat and lifted him off the ground and said: "I am not a possessive boyfriend, but you are making it very difficult for me to ignore as Hope clearly is annoyed by your continuous attempts to get close to her."

Alex let go of Landon as he fell on the floor gasping for air as he looked at Alex in fear, as Alex kneeled in front of him and said in a cold tone"Stay away from her now onwards or you will have a huge problem."Alex's eyes glowed as Landon knew it was a promise and quickly got up and ran away as Alex rethought"I should take the phoenix powers from him as it is too risky to let him wander around with it."

Alex soon went and found Hope who was subtly questioning some of the students as Alex asked"Got anything yet."Hope shook her head and replied, "Nothing yet although it seems Dana is really close with Conner."Alex quickly looked around for Conner but didn't see him anywhere as he saw some of his friends and read their minds as Alex frowned and muttered"That's odd he disappeared from school just moments after our arrival, also his friends found behavior odd."

Hope was confused hearing this and questioned"Why did they think he was odd?"Alex explained"Well some of his friends thought he was weird as he was quiet and acted very differently, they thought he was worried about his girlfriend Sasha. But the thing is when I read his best friend Erik's mind I found out Connor was having been seeing Dana behind Sasha's back.It seems Connor loved to brag about this stuff to Erik and Erik saw Sasha and Dana with Conner before their disappearance as he has doubts about Conner and is thinking of reporting him to the police."

Hope raised an eyebrow hearing this as she spoke"We have to tell the others about this."Alex and Hope soon found the other as Lizzie was on the phone and MG looked worried as Lizzie spoke"Alex are you sure none of the vampires in the soon fed on anyone?"

Alex nodded and replied," I am sure none of them have been drinking human blood after the blood elixir was introduced to them."Lizzie looked at MG as MG said"MsForbes just called it seems Dana's body was found in the woods and they have vampire bites on her."

Alex grimaced and replied, "That means there is another vampire in Mystic falls as I am 100% sure none of the vampires in our school drinks human blood anymore."Lizzie narrowed her eyes and said, "So some of them did drink from people before getting the elixir."

Alex sighed and explained"Okay Kaleb used to drink the blood of girls from Mystic falls highschool. But I am sure he is not the one we are looking for as Kaleb is pretty happy with the Elixirs."

Lizzie was not sure about this as she said"Alex I am not doubting you maybe you didn't look deep enough."Alex rubbed his temples and said, "I will go get Kaleb and I am telling you he is not the one we are looking for."MG had a crush on Lizzie spoke up for her"Maybe we should check on him to make sure he isn't the one who did it?"

Hope frowned hearing that as she knew they were just wasting time, but Alex decided to humor him as he apparated to the schools and brought Kaleb back as Alex explained the situation to him Kaleb frowned and said"It's true I used to drink the blood of kids from Mystic falls high, but I stopped it after the blood Elixer was introduced."

Unfortunately, our talk was cut short as Lizzie had a call from Caroline who told her that Dana's body disappeared, while both Alex and Hope saw her coming out of the forest she was pale as hell as Hope said: "Lizzie we found Dana."

Lizzie hearing this looked in the direction Hope was looking to see Dana who stumbled out of the forest as Lizzie muttered"How is she alive?"As MG went to help her, while Alex read her mind only to find the one attacked Dana was not a Vampire, but a giant spider basically an Arachne."Alex was in his thoughts as Dana started complaining and Lizzie whispered"We now have a soon-to-be Vampire on our hands, what do we do?"

Alex shook his head replied, "It's not a vampire, it is an Arachne."MG with slight surprise said, "You mean the woman cursed by Athena to become a monster."Alex nodded and explained, "Yeah, they have a unique ability to steal the skin of their prey and to wear it as their own, to pass as human."Hope realized whose skin Arachne was wearing as she spoke"Arachne is wearing Conner skin right."Everyone was confused as Hope explained to them about Conner's strange behavior and his sudden disappearance when they came as Hope questioned"Do you think he ran away because of you?"Alex shrugged and answered, "It could be possible. Arachne may have better danger senses than other supernatural beings."

Alex quickly knocked out Dana healed her and then modified her memories to make sure she didn't remember anything about the supernatural, While Landon came running to them panting"You guys won't believe, what I just saw."

Everyone was curious as Landon explained, "Well after we separated I met Conner who was behaving very strangely as he creeped me out quite a bit as I punched him and his skin just came off."Alex and Hope looked at each other as they pretty much knew the monster's somehow had a connection to Landon.But at that moment Alex felt a protection talisman activate. Protection Talisman was created by Alex and Hope to create a temporary shield around the students till backup arrived was activated and the person whose Talisman activated was none other than Josie.
