34. New member, indeed.

Grabbing the bags I headed into the living room there Lili had my cloak raised in the back and Hel was sitting behind her.

"So she is joining?" I ask my goddess.

"Yes, she seems very attached to you." Hel says with a raised eyebrow.

Lili just blushes slightly and looks down.

"She is level 1 right? Make sure she doesn't level up yet." I tell Hel.

"What why?" Lili asks confused. She had been read to level up for a while now.

"Well I have a rule, i don't want any mediocre members in the familia. You can level up when you get all your stats to the max, even I am doing it. If you go up a level with only D rank stats you'll be nothing but common trash and more than likely face a level limit like most adventurers who get stuck at level 3 their entire life." I sit down on the couch and drop the bags to the side with a clatter. "A proper foundation is needed to become strong. Do you want to be stuck at level 3 your entire life?" I ask the girl.

"No!" She answers seriously.

"Then wait, build up your stats, by the time you are done you will be as strong as a low rank level 3 adventurer by the time you reach level 2." I explain to the girl. "If you wish to be strong you have to put in the proper work. As long as you are willing to put in the effort then I am willing to help you to the best of my abilities."

"I understand I'll work hard I promise!" she says with a serious look.

"Good!" I give here head a pat and ruffle her ears and hear a thumping noise from her tail.

I get a stink eye from Hel. "Aww is my cute little goddess jealous? Do you want some affection too?" I ask with a grin.

"Yes!" Hel answers affirmatively.

"You shouldn't be jealous of your own familia members." I laugh and give her a kiss on the forehead much to her shock as her face lights up a crimson color.

"Awaaaa my heart isnt ready!" She shouts quickly fleeing the room. Still weak to physical affection besides cuddling while reading.

I turn towards the little girl. "So do you have any skills and abilities I should know about?" I ask.

She frowns for a second looking at the paper in front of her before passing it over. "I trust you."

Looking over the stats everything is average except her strength which is at D rank. She only has 2 skills.

Cinder Ella, which allows her to change her appearance to look like those around her, such as turning into an elf, or another species. She also gains the racial traits of those classes, such as the senses of a beast person, like increased smell or hearing. Being a pallum though she will always be incredibly tiny.

Then her second skill is called Artel Assist, which allows her to carry heavy objects with ease as long as her weight reaches a certain threshold.

Frowning for a second I pull out the giganto great axe. "Can you lift this for me?" I ask the girl.

She nods and picks up the axe with relative ease. "That is quite a useful skill you have." Watching her 1 hand swing that massive axe makes me a bit jealous. Even I struggle a bit with my Giganto strength.

It's quite the thing to see such a small person just wielding a massive axe like that.

"Now even more important, can you change your ears to cat people ears." I ask with a serious look.

Lili looks confused but nods and the dog ears on her had change to cat people ears. Only to have those ears assaulted by a pair of hands. "I love kitties." I admit rubbing the soft ears with not a small amount of pleasure. "Rubbing kitty ears is very soothing for the soul." I sigh happily.

A small rumbling purr arrives from the girl with a half squinted happy look on her face.

"Yes soothing for the soul." it had been a pretty stressful day.

After some good quality ear rubs I sit back down on the couch and start going through the gear and items I had snatched. "What is this?" I ask Lili pulling out a bottle of red liquid.

"Soma familia wine, I heard it is rather addicting and incredibly expensive." Lili says.

"Can we sell it? If not throw it in the trash, I don't need addictive items in the familia." I frown.

"Best to throw it out." Lili says with a frown at the liquid.

"Alright." I count over the money I had snatched from the group and they didn't have much besides what was stolen from Lili which I hand back to the girl who gives me a confused look.

"It was your money before they stole it, I said i would give it back." The rest was about 3000 valis which I kept. There were 2 nice looking daggers which were better quality than mine and probably had magic on them, then a 2 swords and a spear which I could probably use since mine had broken. I would be keeping the pieces as maybe it could be reforged later on. They didn't really have too much else of value on them even their pouches only had things like some food and water canteens, I take it Lili probably had all the monster cores.

"Well those guy were pretty poor." I sigh.

"Most Soma familia members spend all their money on wine." Lili says.

Yeah a group of addicts I remember.

"That big bag is yours, so you can take it, I'm sure Hel is cleaning up a room for you. So go and put your things up. Get settled in." I pat the girl on the head and gather the junk from the Soma familia to be disposed of. I don't need their food or drinks. I'll keep the pouches and other useful items.

She nods. "What about this axe?" She asks holding the large weapon.

"Keep it, from now on that will be your weapon." I tell her. The idea of having a tiny berserker was rather appealing to me. "You aren't going to need to be a supporter from now on you'll be training and fighting with me here and in the dungeon."

She holds the axe tightly and nods with a bright look on her face. "Thank you, for everything."

"No problem, now go put your stuff up this is your home too." I tell her shooing the girl off.
