Most of the participants in the examination were cultivators, but very few had prior experience in sword forging. As a result, the majority of the swords created had a rudimentary sword shape at best.

The Weapon Refining Sect's examination did not impose excessively high standards, taking into account the participants' limited familiarity with sword forging. Nearly all the disciples who managed to shape a sword successfully passed the examination. Those unable to even produce a sword-like form failed the Weapon Refining Sect's assessment.

Being the Supreme Sect's examination, certain expectations were in place regardless of one's prior exposure to such skills. At the very least, swift learning and meeting the comprehensive standards of the Supreme Sect were prerequisites for success.
