The Ambush

As Xyno starts to relax near the campfire, he hears some rumbling in the bush far away behind him. Xyno gets alerted as he hears rumbling from another bush next to the previous one, then another.

(What is this? I sense a quite a bunch of predators.)

A shadowy figure jumps in from one of the bushes and attacks Xyno. Sett quickly jumps in and uses Aerial Ace to send the ambusher flying far away and faints it. Xyno notices that the attacker was a wild Scyther. The whole ambush in the night was orchestrated by a swarm of Scythers.

"Are you guys ready? We seem to be in a tight spot here." Xyno says to his companions.

It seemed like Xyno and his party had entered these Scyther's territory. Xyno could pick up 8 Scyther's presence around him. Scythers are pretty strong on their own but they are much more dangerous when hunting as they hunt in groups. The cut-marks from before were probably from them hunting in this area.

The Scyther which attacked first lies down after being hit by Sett. The rest of the Scythers come running in from the bushes upon seeing one of them sent flying by Sett. Celestine and Tiny as take position to fight off the Scythers.

In the middle of the night a fight broke between Xyno's party and the Scythers. The Scythers come in full-speed towards Celestine, Sett and Tiny. Celestine quickly uses Psychic and sends 5 of the Scythers flying off into one of the trees. The Scythers bump into the trees pretty hard.

Tiny charges up an Energy ball and throws it directly at the incoming Scyther. The Scyther tries to cut the Energy ball in half with it's scythe-like hand but ultimately dodges it and charges into Tiny who also initiated using Tackle. Both bump their heads into each other pretty hard. Tiny, to the Scyther's surprise, uses Energy Ball at point black range and sends the Scyther flying off.

Sett was having the easiest time with the Scyther since he had flying-type advantage. Sett uses another Aerial Ace and it's opponent drops to the ground, fainted.

(These Scythers don't have good Talents. They are all D and C's. And those marks on the trees were bigger than their scythes could have made.)

All of a sudden Xyno feels a much stronger presence between the predators. The energy waves were very disturbing.

"Watch out guys! Here comes the leader!" Xyno shouts and alerts them to take position.

Through the trees comes a menacing looking Scyther. As it comes in close the trees start dropping down all of a sudden. The Scyther was cutting every tree in his way. When it emerges from the trees Xyno notices the size of this Scyther and the red scars on it's body. It was a bit bigger than the other Scythers and was darker green in color. Upon seeing their pack leader the other Scythers get up and quickly fly behind it. Xyno knew this was going to be a fierce battle.

Xyno senses the Scyther gazing in his direction. The Scyther taunts in Tiny's direction who gets angry from the taunt. Tiny rushes in and uses a combo of Magical Leaf and Tackle. The Scyther suddenly flies in, cuts the leaves without any effort, and attacks Tiny with his sharp blade. The blade was surely going to cut Tiny in half.

Analyzing the situation Celestine quickly uses Psychic on the Scyther and stops it from hurting Tiny. Tiny full-body Tackles the Scyther who seems to get pushed away but is unharmed.

"Tiny! Get back! You can't fight that Scyther! Let Celestine and Sett handle it!" Xyno tells Tiny to withdraw.

Tiny nods and gets back.

Sett who was glaring straight at the pack leader gives off a strange grin and gestures Celestine to back off from the fight.

Celestine seems to be arguing with Sett, as if she was worried for Sett.

Sett reassures Celestine and steps in front to fight the Scyther.

"Sett. Take position. We are taking him down."

Sett looks back at Xyno and nods.

Xyno realizes the passion in Sett's eyes to fight the Scyther head on.

Although the Scyther was not on par with the Tangrowth Xyno's party encountered before but it was still pretty strong. And a few levels above Sett.

But Sett was known to destroy his competition levels above him.

All of a sudden the forest goes silent. There seemed to be some other night Pokemons like Hoot-Hoot come out and watch the battle from far away.

Sett and the Scyther give off killing intent. The killing intent was so strong that the air became heavy and it was harder to breathe.

After glaring at each other for a while Scyther starts the fight as it goes in for a Fury Cutter. The Scyther disappears instantly and appears right in front of Sett. The Scyther then engages to slash Sett vigorously.

Sett dodges all the attacks and tries to maintain some distance between him and Scyther.

"Sett! Air Cutter!"

Sett uses Air Cutter which ends up in the Scyther backing away from Sett.

Seeing an opening Sett rushes in as Xyno orders him to use Aerial Ace. The Aerial Ace hits the Scyther. The Scyther gets blown away but quickly holds his ground.

The Scyther uses Swords Dance. It's Scythes start glowing as he grinds them together. The blades seemed so sharp that it seemed like they were made of steel.

The Scyther with a battle cry rushes in and uses Fury Cutter again.

Sett tries to dodge the attack but the attacks were faster than before.

Sett gets hit by a couple of the attacks and gets sent flying into a tree.

"GRROOOH~"

Sett gets up and all of a sudden shouts very loudly. The voice could be heard echoing in the forest.

Sett's eyes turn red as he gets overexcited from the battle. The only thing Sett couldn't get out of the battles from the challengers in the City was excitement. All the Pokemons he fought were leagues below him and were not a match. Also since he admired Regina's Gengar, he picked up one of his traits.

Sett gives off an even stronger killing intent than before and starts using his attacks in combination.

"Get in closer then use Dark Pulse!"

Sett vanishes off using Quick Attack, appears behind Scyther who gets shocked by Sett's speed outmatching his own. When Sett appears behind the Scyther he uses Dark Pulse who blasts Scyther far away, while Scyther flies off Sett vanishes again and starts using a barrage of Air Cutters which all hit the Scyther.

The Scyther cries from pain as he slams into one of the trees.

The battle seemed to be heating even more as the Scyther now increases his power and his killing intent gets stronger.

Both seem to be equal in strength, with the same intent. Killing each other.

Sett's speed was higher than the Scyther but the Scyther's moves hit harder.

The wild Pokemon who were watching from the sidelines start crying as if cheering Sett on.

The other Scythers decide to help their leader and try to interfere. But Celestine senses their emotions and uses Psychic on all of the Scythers watching before they could even make a move.

As the Scythers are shocked they look over at Celestine who is pointing a finger at them and waving it, saying they can't interfere. The other Scythers just stood there watching the fight.

Tiny was pumped up from watching Sett fight but knew he wasn't a match for the Scyther's leader, so he was cheering loudly for Sett.

The Scyther tries to end the match. He uses another Swords Dance while flying away from Sett and goes in for Slash. He starts slashing Sett who was dodging every single of the slashes. As he notices that Celestine is holding down all of his comrades with a single attack, Scyther gets even more angrier and his speed gets faster.

"Air cutter then finish with dark pulse."

Sett who was dodging the slashes flawlessly gets away from Scyther and uses Air Cutter and then charges Dark Pulse.

The Scyther who was too angry to analyze the situation tries to cut off the Air Cutters. He succeeds in parrying a bunch of Air Cutters, but by the time he realizes an enormous wave of Dark Energy directly hits Scyther.

Scyther falls straight down and slams to the ground. Sett also lands down.

Scyther slowly gets up and grins at Sett, seemed as he was saying Sett was very good at fighting.

Sett who was still very much indulged with his anger still grins back.

Both decide to end this fight with the next move.

Scyther uses a 3rd Swords Dance and raises his attack even more.

Sett cries even louder than before and gives off loud waves.

Both rush into each other for a final clash.

"Sett! Rush in and use Aerial Ace to end this battle!" Xyno shouts.

Scyther uses Slash again which was supercharged by swords dance as he was screaming.

Sett screams as well and uses a combo of Quick Attack and Aerial Ace going even faster.

Both rush in closer to each other and a dust bomb blows when they finally clash.

All the Pokemons and Xyno get surprised from the final trade off.

After all the dust settles. Scyther and Sett can be seen standing with their backs facing each other.

Scyther cries loudly.

"SCYTHERR!!!" As he shouts, all of Scyther's killing waves that he was giving off disappear as he falls to the ground and faints.

"GRRROOOOH!!!" Sett shouts his Battle-cry with all of his might.

Sett had won against one of his strongest opponents yet.

All the Pokemon who were watching the match all shouted as well, celebrating.

"Good job Sett! You were amazing." Xyno remarks.

Xyno decides to catch the Scyther and throws a Pokeball and catches the Scyther. He catches the 2 Scythers who lie fainted all this time as well.

The other Scythers disbanded their pack and went their own ways. They were not very strong on their own, but they preyed on the other Pokemons thanks to the pack leader.

Celestine who was worried for Sett rushes to Sett and pets his head for winning the match.

After calming down Sett seemed happy that he finally got to enjoy a good battle. Tiny who was cheering very hard for Sett comes in and lightly bumps in Sett, gesturing to say 'Good Job'.

The other Pokemon then go away.

After setting up his camp again and spraying the Repels, Xyno checks his spoils. There are many mana rich wild herbs and fruits that he collected. He also collected some Oran berries.

There was also Letta grass. It was a bluish-green grass with 3 stalks from same root. This grass grows in wild and is rich in mana. It could be used to provide level up mana for low leveled Pokemon.

Xyno smiles at his side harvest and finally decides to eat his dinner in peace and goes off to sleep.
