4th Wing

Arakiel’s wolf form was the opposite of mine. He was more to pure white with a hint of silver that compliments his sky blue eyes. Opposite to mine which was jet black and a hint of silver with electric blue eyes. Maybe it’s because we’re twins, we complemented each other. Apart from my life in him. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, my wolf is a female wolf but my human form is a male. This was because according to the elders I was the mate of Arakiel thus my wolf completes him as his other half of one soul. These cases were very rare and not many documents were written about them so the elders could not inform us that much. Another thing about me, as I understand that it’s also rare among humans, well I’m a hermaphrodite. To me, this was the reason my wolf and human form have different gender

I looked at Araxiel’s scrunched up face. This was one of his habits when he’s in deep thought. I climbed to the empty spot beside him and licked his opened flesh. Small whimpers filled the room. Due to us being twins and mates, we shared a deeper connection. Thus made able me to feel his emotion and pain.

“Why are you whimpering now, it’s not that bad,” I continued licking his wound as he glared at me. The stinging pain does bother me that much but it saddens me to know he was bearing it.

“Shut it, next time give me a warning.” He laid his head on my shoulder sulking.

The once opened flesh slowly closing up as one of our power as a fallen was healing. But in our wolf form, our saliva had healing properties. His whimpers turned to a relaxed exhale as he was relieved of the pain he was born after the fight.

I stared at his peaceful state, grinning at his cute sleeping form. My wolf urged me to move closer as he felt that our mate was in a fragile state. I wrapped my body to him and laid my head on his shoulder.

“I love you and I will do anything to protect you” Araxiel nuzzle his face to mine and licked my snout out of habit.

“How sweet, all lovey-dovey,” a female voice slurred but clear enough to break the silence.

I glared at the bound form on the floor. It’s a good thing the rope is infused with wolfsbane. Judging from the scars that she placed on Araxiel’s body, the amount of wolfsbane should hold her for a while. Reluctantly I moved away from my mate and made way for her.

I hate her praying eyes and that smug look plastered on her face. As the distance between us closes, I can sense that she’s totally calm and that ticked me to no end. What’s with this woman? If I didn’t keep my anger in check surely I’ll be torturing her to my heart content right now for what she had done to Araxiel.

“This is none of your business, why are you here?” I asked her in the alpha voice while looking back at Araxiel relaxed form.

To my surprise she answered with a snort as if mocking me, she doesn’t show any sign of submission or scared.

“You must have wondered why your alpha’s pheromone or words doesn’t affect me at all,” she smirked and tried to break away.

I have to say, she’s a tough one. I guess if this form doesn’t work might as well resort to the other. A low whine broke the silence. I turned to Araxiel and noticed the worried looked started to swirl in his eyes.

“It’s okay my love, I’m not planning to destroy anything today,” I smiled at him as he shifted back and limped to my side.

“I believe you, but if you lose control again I can’t bear watching the consequences” his arm slowly snakes around my waist and his head rested on my shoulder.

I pulled him and stepped away from him. My eyes started glowing and I shift again to my original form which was the fallen. My silver hair grew longer past my waist as my white wings spurted from my shoulder blades.

I spread my wings letting the bones cracked and shake the soreness away. It’s been too long. I missed being in this form. I turned my focus back to the silver wolf and noticed a change in her expression.

“I see that I’ve found the one that I’ve been searching, release me from the bound and I would not run, it’s a fallen world.” She said and bowing her head to show her honor to her words.

“I release you from the bound” the ropes fell from her bloodied form and shifted back to her so-called human form.

Her silver hair matches her silver eyes. Why does she seem so familiar? I swear I had seen her before. As if she knew what I’m thinking, she smiled gently but with that glint in her eyes, it seemed as if I had reminded her of something awful.

“I’m Cassiun Olean, the last of the Lager tribe. We were double silver.” Markings started to appear on her body.

Her words were true, the markings were once the symbols of the fallen tribe of Lager. I can sense that she’s a very rare alpha.

“You are Arakiel Wulfrik, and he is Araxiel, your twin and your mate,” she slowly moved closer, my wings spread as my eyes glowed indicating her not to.

“What do you want? Is it not enough for you to hurt my mate?” I hug the frozen form of my twin. He looked shocked for some reason.

My eyes shifted from Araxiel to Cassiun. Something’s not right, why did her eyes look as if she had found her long lost love one?

“Calm down young alpha, I’m here as the last messenger of our tribe.” My tensed shoulder started to relax, still not letting my guard down just yet.

Araxiel seemed to recover from the shock but his grip on me tightened.

“What do you seek?” She just studied our forms intently.

“Do you know why the fallen exist and why the war between Lycaon and Atos broke out?” she asked, I just nodded as I knew the story.

I was just too young at the time we were banished. But for some reason my hatred towards Atos the other heavenly being never ceased. This fact sometimes doesn’t make sense to me at times. Why should I felt this burning hatred towards someone that had a huge fight with my dad? Why did I feel so much pain when I remembered that day? Out of nowhere, that familiar image started to form. That smile, that eyes.

“Arakiel stop,” Araxiel's worried voice snaps me from my inner turmoil.

“Young alpha, what you heard from before is just the mere surface of the whole truth. I’ll show you what truly happened, so keep your mind open.” As she finished but I noticed that she exhaled as if a part of her burden had been lifted.

“There’s more to it isn’t it” I tried to move closer but was stopped by Araxiel's stronghold. He had this warning look.

Cassiun just nodded and broke into a sad smile. A mint green sphere appeared around her. She motions me to come closer. I guessed that I’ll soon have that needed answer.

“I’ll be back my dear.” I kissed Araxiel’s forehead as he moved away but didn’t let go of my hand.

I stroked his warm cheek while reciting the incantation to shield my injured mate. It’s not that he can’t protect himself but you can’t be too sure.

After making sure he was safe, I made my way into the glowing pentagram like a circle with Cassiun in the middle. I could recognize some of the angelic runes. One of them was the symbol of time, which meant that we will go back to the past.
