Time continues to pass, one day after the other. When I came back and met up with everyone in the common room, we all talked about the fight against the Hassaikai group. Specifically, about the giant Jeager, I dropped from space. It was all over the news.
I mean, good luck hiding that from the media.
So the authorities just didn't bother hiding the event, everyone got their time in the spotlight, especially me. I mean, I was the one that piloted the Gypsy Avenger. There was also the Stark logo printed on its chest, so they're wondering if it's an official product from Stark Industries.
Lots of people started showing their greedy nature towards it, so I ended up telling Jarvis to publicly mention that Jaegers won't be sold for any price and will only be built and used in emergencies. Lots of people weren't happy with that, especially since it's tantamount to saying that someone can privately build and own these monsters that can be used as a massive war machine.
But still, it's within the laws of the country, so no one did anything. Or rather, I made them not do anything.
School continued as always, I played a student in every class, except hero studies, at which I took the helm as a teacher. To include Eri in the class, I decided it was best to focus more on controlling and using what you already have, like making ultimate moves, than to boost your quirk more.
Izuku went though that Yuga Aoyama stalking incident, and now they're friends. Kind of a weird way to become one, but eh.
Oh yeah, something else happened.
I officially adopted Eri as my daughter!
I mean, I went ahead and did it on my own, without consulting her… is this abduction? Maybe exploitation? Oh my god, am I a bad person?
(A/N: MC so distressed he didn't even say "fuck god".)
I mean, I don't think she minds. I did it without asking her, sure, but once I told her, she was simply ecstatic. I told her in such a flashy way too, not dissimilar to any baby gender reveal parties from my old world. There were explosives, guns, sacrificial blood altars and everything. So yeah, I think I did a good job.
Eri- "But Arata-nii, are you sure it's ok?"
Eri has taken to calling me "Arata-nii". At first, she was calling me "Mister". Then, she moved onto "Onii-san", before finally settling on "Arata-nii". Which is completely fine by me, I mean, she's only my daughter in name. I see her more as a little sister than a daughter, due to the fact that I'm still only 16. Well, I also see her as a daughter, but… it's a complicated feeling. The best way I can explain it is that I see her as a daughter-sister combo deal.
Moving on.
She asked me if adopting her is ok because technically, I'm only 16. I shouldn't be able to legally adopt anyone, let alone an abused tortured child rescued from villains. The solution?
Arata- "Mmmoney."
I said while making Italian hands.
I dumped a small mountain of money outside of the doors of anyone dealing with this issue, and they let things slide. If they disagreed, I instead dumped the money directly on top of them and hope that they survive.
I'm joking.
(A/N: He's not. Send help.)
Eri- "But what if the police or heroes find out? Won't you be caught?"
Arata- "Aww, that's adorable. You think they're a threat?"
Ignoring that, it seems it's ok. She's fine with it, Rumi, Momo, and Nejire and fine with it, and surprisingly Toru was fine with it as well. I was thinking she would want to guard the imouto position with her life, but it seems she doesn't see Eri as an obstacle.
Well, she also made a deal with me saying that she also can have access to my room and can sleep with me whenever she wants, but I see this as an absolute win.
I ended up cutting my exp grinding nights by half, occasionally sneaking into Momo or Nejire's room for some hanky panky time. If it's a weekend, I'll even sneak over to Rumi and stay the night, but otherwise, I just sleep in my own room, cuddling Eri like a body pillow, and sometimes Toru as well.
Whenever that happens, Toru always ends up looking heavily sleep-deprived. I wonder why.
But otherwise, I spend the whole night in an ID, grinding monsters. To make up for it, I even resorted to using a 2x and 3x time dilation, but nothing more.
Speaking of which…
Arata- "Status."

I am currently sitting in bed, staring up into the ceiling. I wanted to check up on my stats, and see how much I've been improving.
The first thing to note… the occupation section is… kinda useless. It does nothing other than telling me that I'm The Gamer. Maybe it's the anchor for my Gamer ability in the first place? Who knows.
Next up, the title system. It's actually a very nice thing to have. Titles can also give passive boosts to my skills or stats. Unfortunately, only the currently equipped title will have its effect activated. My current title, Otherworlder, boosts any exp I get by 500%. An insane rate of increase. This includes my overall level exp and even my skill level exp. It's insane.
Of course, most of the titles I have aren't that useful.
[Title: Otherworlder
Effect: Increase user level exp income by 500%
Effect: Increase skill level exp income by 500%]
[Title: Egg worshipper
Effect: Understanding of any egg will increase to godlike levels]
[Title: Lolicon
Effect: Headpats give +1000% satisfaction increase to any loli, legal or otherwise]
[Title: Cooking Genius
Effect: Foods made will always be healthy for the consumer regardless of the ingredients.]
These are only an incredibly small portion of the titles in my list, but you get the point. The Egg Worshipper is a fucking overpowered title, but I regretfully had to seal it away.
Why? Because my mind can't comprehend the pure wisdom produced by the eggs in my fridge and I get headaches after a few minutes.
Oh yeah, my level is over 300. Grinding in spaces created by a level 80 ID Creation skill will do that to you. I especially got a boost within the last couple of weeks with my Otherworlder title, so there's that. Unfortunately, the exp grind gets harder every 100 levels, but it's still ok.
Also, I'm now officially a trillionaire.
My [Teaching] skill has been levelling nicely as well.
[Parallel Processing] and [Perpetual Meditation] have reached max level and fused, giving me the [Mental Space] skill. It's exactly what it sounds like, it gives me access to my mental space. I can now do "inner peace" shit, so there's that.
[Mental Space LV MAX (Passive)
A mental space is the representation of the user's mental state. Access to the mental space allows the user to more finely organise and train their mind.
Effect: Increased mental stat growth
Effect: Increased mental skill effect]
With this skill, I can better arrange the things in my head and now I can think over thousands of thoughts at the same time. Vector Manipulation got more powerful as a consequence too. Quite a nifty skill.
I always likened my mind to a building, and my thoughts being little chibi me's running over the place, from one room to the next, each room being a separate thought process.
Now, with [Self Reprogramming] and [Mental Space], I can directly control and affect both the building and the chibi me's. Originally, it started out at level 1 like every other skill, but I drew a card from my [Lucky Draw] skill that allowed me to increase the level of a skill directly to its highest rank. I used it on my lowest levelled skill that was also kind of a priority to me, so now it's maxed level.
With this, if I wanted to break the country in two, I can do that with [Vector Manipulation].
And finally, [Self Reprogramming] is now at max level. If I wanted to, I can immediately alter my mind to allow the usage of both [Kaleidoscope] and [Vector Manipulation] without any magic-esper backlash. At least, without [Awakening].
I'll do it later.
And…
Oh! Right! Before I forget!
[LUK: 489 > 1000
Stat Points: 2080 > 1591]
:)
As for the rest of the stat points… I think I might as well. My physical stats have pretty much stagnated at this point anyway.
[STR: 100 > 500
VIT: 99 > 500
DEX: 209 > 999
Stat Points: 1591 > 0]
[A new skill has been created through a specific action.]
[Mortal Control LV 1]
[Physical Endurance has been assimilated into Mortal Control]
[Poker Face has been assimilated into Mortal Control]
[Due to higher levelled skills being assimilated, Mortal Control's level has increased]
…
Damn, I wasn't expecting that. Was it because all my stats broke through to the 500 point threshold? If so this is a nice boon.
[Mortal Control LV 30 (Passive)
It is said that those that have full control over their physical bodies can allow themselves to work and live at their absolute limit in both strength and efficiency.
Effect: Full control over the user's body
Effect: Natural body limiter removed.]
…
The fuck?
-----
A/N: Hey guys, you know how the Gamer ability lets the user see the names and levels of people hovering over their heads?
MC: Oh I totally never use that.
AN: Or more like, I keep forgetting about it... Sorry!
MC: Well, not like it matters, I can just use Book of Existence, it's much more accurate.
AN: Yeah, so I was wondering if the readers would like me to officially remove this ability entirely? Because I think Im going to continue forgetting about it now and again. Let me know what you think!
Also let me know if I missed anything!
Consider dropping power stones!
