Kathleen's Prayer

Kathleen lay on her bed, unable to sleep, as she tried to analyze her feelings for Pete. She knew she was supposed to call him, as he had asked her to do after returning from church, but she didn't want to talk to him yet.

She needed to understand what she was feeling and why she was feeling that way. 

She raised her head when her bedroom door was pushed open, and her mother walked into the room.

"Why are you still awake?" she asked her mother, who had just stood by the bed, watching her curiously.

"You forgot today was Tuesday?" Her mother asked as she sat on the edge of the bed.

"No, I didn't forget. Why?" She asked as she sat up so she could have a better look at her mother's face. 

"Are you sure you didn't? Because I'm still wondering why you haven't asked me how the meeting with the specialist doctor went," Her mother said, making Kathleen gasp in surprise.

"Jesus! Jesus Christ!" Kathleen exclaimed.
