Chapter 17- Hero's Arrival

Royal Capital

A messenger rushed into the throne room and disturbed the celebration. All the guest enjoying stopped to look at the sudden news. All of them were thinking "Whats more important than celebrating our victory?" They were all so sure that they will win the battle because they have the hero beside them, but little did they know that while they are celebrating, the enemies spared no time and immediately made a move.

" Sir! News from Crux."

" Tell us quickly!" Griffin ordered but with a worried tone.

" The Crux said that if we don't surrender by tomorrow morning, they'll attack at noon. The Dark territory is also coming with them."

The crowd panicked upon hearing the news but Griffin on the other hand, remained calm and summoned the celestial bride. He opened a portal beside him and Stella stepped out.

" My Griffin! What the hell happened?" Stella couldn't hide her shock. She was clueless on what's happening because she's been busy preparing spells and other tactics for the upcoming battle.

" Crux declared that they will launch an attack tomorrow at noon if we don't surrender."

" What?! How dare they! Magnus that bastard!" Stella couldn't control her temper. Not only does she despise him, but she also wants to kill him.

" I know how you feel, but now's not the time to vent your anger." Griffin tried to calm her down because her affinity for dark magic is high and dark magic often tens lo leak out when its user feels negative emotions.

" I'm all calm. Now, how did the enemy know about the hero? You don't suppose, Gamel told them right?" she said calmly. Her frustrations had indeed disappeared.

" Perhaps there's a rat in the castle."

Somewhere near the capital,

Kazuki's team and the two paladin bodyguards had a rough time going to the capital. Because of the paladins, small monsters are avoiding them but, the number of high level monsters increased.

(Note: According to the law of nature, only the strong survives and that is always true in the world. Small monsters hide while high leveled monsters will hunt them. Sometimes, high leveled monsters fight each other in order to gain control over a territory and evolve. Even if paladins are the inferior to golems, they are still considered high monsters so the surrounding beasts thought they are here to conquer territories.)

Just when they were about to reach the capital's walls, a Serpentine appeared. It was about 100 meters long and releases a heavy aura.

(Note: Serpentine is a high class monster which resembles a large black snake that breathes fire.)

" Paladins attack!" Kazuki ordered the paladins to attack since they will not move on their own will. Rather they wait for Kazuki's instruction no matter how difficult the situation is.

The cavalries charged but they had a rough time dealing with the beast. Its scales were as hard as steal and the smoke from its fire contains poison. Luckily, paladins are immune to fire and poison so they only have to worry about the hard scales.

After 5 minutes of fighting, the beast fell to the ground and Kazuki cut its head of in order to prevent unexpected regeneration.

Finally, after a long journey, they reached the Holy capital. The guards stopped him by the gate for checkpoint and he handed them the letter.

Inside the castle, the people are beginning to lose hope when another messenger arrived.

" Sir Griffin, a letter from the gate arrived."

" Tell us quick."
