Chapter 22: Lucian's Wrath!

Lucian raced towards the main gate of Dragonfront town. It helped that there was only one main gate to exit through the city with the rest being sealed off.

"Come on Hestia keep up!" Lucian shouted back, noticing she was lagging behind.

"I'm trying!" She shouted, surprised at how fast Lucian could run.

Lucian finally reached the main gates after storming through the town. A group of guards who were stationed at the gate gave him a funny look.

"Have you seen a group of men dressed in fur armour leave?" Lucian asked.

"Get a load of this guy." One of them said, getting the others to take a look at him.

"Hey!" Lucian shouted, getting pissed off.

The guards were taken back by his sudden outburst and they could feel his rage burning into their hearts.

"Y-yeah. They left about two hours ago." The guard at the front said.

Lucian didn't say anything as he burst into a sprint heading out of the town and back onto the open road.

"What the hell was that guy?" The guard asked not sure what had just happened.

"Look out!" Hestia shouted as she jumped over the guard with a well-executed flip.

"Hey watch it!" The guard shouted as he almost fell over.

Hestia was doing her best to keep up with her master, but Lucians speed was too great as he was getting further and further away.

"Damn it I won't be left behind!" Hestia shouted as she picked up the pace and started to run faster.

Lucian was so focused on finding the group of bastards that had killed Ron. He was running like a madman, thanks to his enhanced abilities he could run much, much faster than an average person and for much longer.

His nose had also picked up their scent that he had found at Ron's house. It had been all over the place, unmistakable to his very powerful sense of smell.

"They can't be much further now. I'm coming you, bastards... I'm coming!" He thought as he pushed his body to its limits and burst into overdrive, moving faster than he had ever done in his life.

Just as Hestia was starting to get a little closer to Lucian she was forced to watch him sudden shift gear and move faster than she knew possible.

Hestia slowed down giving up as she needed to catch her breath, knowing full well she couldn't keep this pace up for much longer.

"Damn it, master..." She said trying to catch her breath.

"You had better not die!" She shouted before she started moving again, following the direction Lucian had run off to.

-Meanwhile-

"I mean did you see the way that puny runt begged for his life!" one of Kain's men boosted as the group walked along the road, chatting amongst themselves.

"Yeah, the puny bastard got what he deserved!" Kain spat on the ground, rubbing his jaw.

He had been taken straight to a healer in town after his incident with Lucian and Hestia. Thanks to an expensive healing potion he was good as new. His broken body all fixed and mended in a matter of moments.

"Just a shame we won't be able to go back to Dragonfront for a while now, the girls there are wild cats!" Another of the men said, getting a laugh from the others.

"There will be more in Riverside, in fact I know someone who is high up in the sex trafficking business there, I'm sure he will sort us out boys!" Kain said getting a cheer from the others.

"Still I wished we could have gotten our hands on that other guy and his bitch of a Hobgoblin!" Kain then said getting angry.

"Don't let it get you down boss. They got what was coming to um. I'm sure he's got the news now and regrets messing with you." Another large man said.

They all went quiet for a moment as they continued to make their way down the road. The Sun was at its highest point in the sky now, signalling it was around midday.

The road they were following was the only one about until further down where it spilt into different directions.

So far only a handful of traders had gone by in their waggons, nothing special about that they had thought.

"Say, how many days trip is it to Riverside again?" One of them asked.

"It's about a four and half-day trip. Once we get past Grenvil village and cross over the river, we're home free." Another said.

"Ah man, I don't know if I packed enough water for four days!" One of them complained.

"Will you give it a rest, you should have thought about that before we set off!"

The two of them started arguing and Kain sighed, deciding to step in.

"That's enough!" He shouted.

Both of them shut up and carried on moving doing as they were told.

"Hey boss, can you hear that?" One of them said picking something up in the distance.

Kain listened hard, concentrating as he did.

"Oh yeah, what the hell is that?" He said.

"Whatever it is it's getting closer!" Another shouted as he pointed to the distance.

There was a large dust trail kicking up far in the distance, leading back towards Dragonfront town.

"What in Astaria?" Kain said.

"Look! It looks like a person!" Someone shouted as he could make out the small shape of a human.

"No way! it's moving way too quick to be human!"

Kain had a bad feeling about this and put his large rucksack down.

"Draw swords boys!" He said as he pulled his large two-handed sword from his back.

The others all did the same and threw their gear to the side as they drew their weapons. Waiting for whatever was about to happen.

Lucian could see a group of men in the distance, realizing he had finally caught up with his prey.

He had been running full pelt for a good 40 minute now, unsure of how fast he was going.

He counted six men through his blurred vision due to the speed at which he was running. The numbers didn't matter to him at the moment. All that mattered now was that he got his revenge.

Pulled his warhammer from his hip and he slowed, Lucian threw it as hard as he could, aiming for Kain.

"Hey, boss... That looks like that guy from." One of the men started saying before Lucian's Warhammer smashed into his body so hard that he flew a good twenty yards back.

Lucian had thrown his Warhammer as hard as he could, however, his aim was a little off and he missed his target.

The man that had been hit was dead before he hit the ground. The force of such weight travelling at that speed had broken almost every bone in his body before he mashed to the ground.

The others all turned around in shock, looking at their fallen friend's body lying broken in the dirt.

"Why you!" Another one of them shouted.

However, Lucian had closed the distance between them now and punched him in the face as hard as he could, knocking the large man flying, out cold with one punch.

Lucian darted past the others and grabbed his Warhammer off the floor before turning to face them.

His lungs were burning from how hard they had been working, sweat was dripping down his face and his eyes were glowing red as he glared at his prey.

"What are you waiting for? Get him!" Kain shouted after a moment of silence from all of them.

Lucian had taken two of them down in a matter of seconds and the group were certainly more wary of him because of it.

"Well, what are you waiting for!" Kain shouted again.

"Aargghh!" One of the men screamed as he charged in lifting his large sword over his head ready to strike.

Lucian lunged forwards after seeing his opponent move, grabbing his arm at the base of his elbow, he stopped his opponents attack in an instant.

"What!" The man shouted so surprised he didn't know what else to do.

Lucian smashed his Warhammer into the man's gut, knocking him to the ground gasping for air.

He noticed the number above his head drop from 5 to 3 after he had hit him. But he wasn't bothered by it at the moment and instead wanted to send the others a message.

"Please... Have mercy." The man at Lucian's feet pleaded as he tried to catch his breath.

"No," Lucian said as he smashed his hammer down onto his head, a sickening crunching sound reverberating off of the ground.

"Garth!" One of the others shouted in horror as he watched Lucian crush his friend's skull.

"You fucker!" He shouted as he pulled out two of what looked to be flintlock pistols.

Lucian had only ever seen such guns before in old movies and had to say he was surprised they existed in this world.

"Die!" The man shouted as he fired both shots.

The metal balls shot out of the pistol at incredible speed and hit Lucian's torso, ripping through his leather armour with ease.

The force of the impact dropped Lucian down to one knee and the barbarians smiled as they watched.

"Not so tough now, are ya!" The man shouted as he threw both of his pistols to the floor before drawing his sword.

Since they only had one shot before needing to be reloaded, they were best used up close and personal.

"Now I'm gonna make you suffer!"

Lucian smiled as he lunged forwards too fast for the man to follow, swinging his hammer as he did, smashing it into the bastard's ribs.

His body had no problem healing from the gunshot wounds, in fact, they seemed to heal faster than any others.

"You're the ones who will die!" Lucian shouted as his strike landed clean, killing the man in one blow sending him crashing into the soil.

"What the hell is this guy?" One of the others said taking a few steps back.

Now only three of them remained and they didn't like their chances.

"You're going to pay for what you did to Ron and his family," Lucian said, almost growling with his demonic red eyes glowing, powered by his anger.

He stood to his full height and dropped his warhammer onto his shoulder, resting it there for a moment.

"I hope you are ready. Ready to feel my wrath!"
