16. Interlude 2 - All In A Days Work

It's been a month since I came to the world of The Last Of Us Part II. During this month, I continued to collect, dissect and inspect zombies and CBI.

I also found the cure to CBI.

The brightest minds in this world took decades to even get a clue about CBI, and yet it took me a month to find a cure! A month!

Turns out that the notes I got was only a small part of the tip of the iceburg about CBI. It would've take the people of this world hundreds of years to find the cure and Ellies 'sacrifice' would've been for nothing.

Anyway, the cure, or more appropriately, serum can only be used within 2 hours of being infected, otherwise it wouldn't work. It also works as a vaccine, so if you're bitten again, you'll be immune. How do I know this? Well, let's just say I caught some nice 'rats' that tried to kill me.

I also made sure that CBI wouldn't evolve and defeat my serum. All I had to do was make the serum itself evolve as well. Thus, I accidentally made a psuedo Super Soldier serum. There won't be any notable changes at first, but the serum will slowly reconstruct the human body until it reaches the peak of human limits.

The time to completely reconstruct the body should be about 3 years, but you can super charge it with high levels of energy like gamma rays, radiation and electricity. Of course, super charging is very dangerous, so its better to let the serum slowly reconstruct the body.

The way my serum works is that it devours any bacteria or virus that tries to damage the human body and it uses the devoured bacteria or virus to strengthen the immune system and the body.

The ingredients for the serum aren't rare, but neither are they common. If you look hard enough for it, you'll find it, but you can't find it just with luck. Well, that's if you're not me. It's production process is quite decent though, 50ml of serum per day, enough for 2m1 dose.

Considering all the effects of the serum, this was quite revolutionary. I would've definitely received the Noble Peace Prize if the government was still up and running. At times like these, I came to appreciate my decision of wishing for [Transcendant Talent].

Anyway, I've made contact with Jackson. The woman all warmly welcomed me, mostly because of my high charisma and good looks. The men were kinda upset about that, so I decreased my charisma down to 100.

I also met Joel and Ellie. I tried really hard not to fangirl when we met, because it was quite exciting for me. Me and Joel get along quite well, he gives good tips about how to deal with zombies too. Ellie seems quiet, but she's actually sociable.

There also seems to be an awkward air between Joel and Ellie. Who could blame them, Joel technically kidnapped Ellie and prevented her from achieving her desires. Ellie wanted to be part of something big and was actually willing to sacrifice herself to find a cure, but Joel took that all away from her.

So like the natural meddler that I am, I managed to get them to confront each other about their problem. When they did talk about it, they seemed more natural around each other and they were both visibly happier.

I also introduced the serum to people of Jackson, but they were sceptical about it. I just gave them some serum and instructed them on how to use it and left the rest to them. Luckily for me, but unluckily for someone, there was a case where someone was bitten.

When they found out that the serum actually worked properly, I was flooded with requests to sell it. I just gave them the recipe and instructions on how to make it. Questions were asked about the serum, so I answered all of them.

I told them that I was the one who researched and made the serum, nothing much. Although, considering the fact that I'm 20 years old, in appearance only, it was incredibly shocking to others. Especially since the education system has long disappeared. So they considered me a genius in the biological science field.

When I was asked the name of the serum, I said that it didn't have one, so then the people named it Luxion's Serum. Quite a cringy name if you ask me. They even built a statue of me in towns square.

I suggested that the townsfolk inject the serum into kids when they're 10 years old, because this would be advantageous in the long run. If you inject the serum too early, the child will definitely die, because their young and developing bodies would collapse on itself. The serum is useful but also dangerous of used incorrectly.

Another month flew by and it was nearing Joel's deathday. I also added a useful function to the system, it can act like a calendar and timer to remind me when events will take place. It's a pretty neat function if you ask me.

So it's tomorrow, huh. I'll need to pull some strings to patrol with Joel. And I know just what to do.

I quickly went to talk to the patrol office and spoke with them. It took a bit of convincing, but I managed to temporarily team up with Joel.
