Charge

Anthony Higgins:

"Come on," I say, watching as The Man punches and kicks soldiers after soldiers."Come on. You can do it. Don't give up."

Luckily, since all the soldiers have cameras mounted on their shoulders and all the cameras are linked, I could hack into the servers and see all the action. Though now, I am slightly regretting it.

Harleen's base is filled to the brim with soldiers, one of them charging at once. And if they weren't bad enough, he also had to deal with the dozen or so regimes.

"Watch out," I say, switching feed from one soldier to another and seeing Killer Frost behind him. The crazy woman is about to shoot at The Man but before she can, he grabs a soldier by his uniform and tosses him. The soldier hits Killer Frost and knocks her to her feet. I only cheer for about a second because a second later, Sinestro summons a chain and latch it around his foot.

All I can do is watch as Sinestro raise The Man into the air and start spinning him around. Even from where I am standing right now, I feel sick and nauseous as I watch. The yellow chain disappears, The Man flies through the air before Black Adam catches him. Catching him with both his arms, he electrocutes The Man before letting him fall to the ground.

Once he hits the ground, it isn't even a full ten seconds before soldiers surround him again and start beating him. All I can see is just a mix of flinging arms and legs as they hit The Man.

"Hello," I say, switching from the video feed to a computer in the base's infirmary where I can see everyone just sitting around.

Iris West:

Turning around, I see a computer suddenly turns on by itself. A black silhouette appears on the monitor and he starts to wave his arms and screams.

"Hello," he starts, "Why are you guys just sitting around? In case you didn't know, The Man is in trouble. For god's sake, he's surrounded and getting beaten by like, a hundred One Earth soldiers. What are you guys doing? Help him."

"Higgin is right," I say, turning back to the others. "I'll tell you the rest of the story later. For now, Dr. Crane, we need to send in the others."

"Others," Supergirl repeats. "What others?"

"That would be us," Captain Cold answers as he, along with Poison Ivy, Reverse-Flash, Cheetah, and even Swamp Thing enters the infirmary.

"Nerd," Captain Cold says, "How's the situation?"

"Higgin," Higgin says. "It's Higgin. You know this. Stop calling me that."

"How is the situation," Captain Cold says again, bringing up his cold gun.

"Bad," Higgin replies, his silhouette disappearing and replace with what I can only assume is a live feed.

Bursting from a group of soldiers, The Man is breathing heavily and struggling to stand. Despite all of this, The Man still fights on. He wipes his forehead free of any sweats and goes back to knocking out the soldiers that surrounded him.

In a frenzy of indescribable moves, he quickly and almost effortlessly takes down all the soldiers around him. However, there are more to replace them and before long, he is being blasted and tossed around.

"Prepare for a fight," Dr. Crane says, dropping to his knees and preparing the teleporter he pulled from his pockets.

Cold rising his cold gun, a blue light then comes on and there is some sort of hissing sound.

"Trust me," he says, adjusting the dial on the side of his gun. "We are more than ready to beat up some regimes."

As the four step toward the portal, Supergirl gets in front of them and stops them.

"Wait," she says, spreading out her arms.

The Man:

A soldier punching me across the face, I use the momentum to spin around and kick out his foot. He screams as he drops to the ground, and once on the ground, I kick him into an oncoming crowd of soldiers. All of them tripping over one another, I reach into my jacket and pull out kunai and pellets.

Spreading out my arms, I toss them all over and watch as the soldiers and regimes all scream. Whether they scream from the flashes, the smokes, or the deafening rings, I use the opportunity to change position. Jumping into the air, I land on a soldier's head and run onto another. A lot like running on top of the water, I skip fast before jumping even higher into the air.

Pulling back my fist, I punch Sinestro on my way down, the purple bastard falling and hitting the ground only a few feet behind me.

"Now my chance," I think, running to Sinestro and grabbing his hand. On his finger is the source of his power, his yellow lantern ring.

"Let's see how much trouble you are without this," I say, grabbing the ring. About to pull it over, I sense something incoming and with deep regret, I have to jump out of the way without Sinestro's stupid ring.

"Let not," Superman says, pulling back his own ring. "Cyborg."

I hear the familiar sound of a sonic cannon warming up from behind but before I can jump out of the way, Cyborg hits me.

"Can't keep dodging forever," he says, firing again. "This is for what you did in Central City."

Landing on my knees, I reach into my jacket for a kunai.

"Hey," I reply, aiming at Cyborg's arm cannon. "It's not my fault you pee while being beaten up by rats. Though even I'll admit, those rats know how to put up a fight."

I see some veins pop up on Cyborg's head seconds before he fires. About to toss my kunai, Nightwing appears from the side and stabs me with his stun batons. Electricity coursing through me, I couldn't toss and stop Cyborg's blast. Getting hit right by it, I am sent sailing into Superman's arms.

Grabbing and raising me into the air, his eyes turn red and he starts to pull back his arm.

"Enough games," he says, "Enough stalling. Enough mysteries. Quite frankly, I don't care who you are. All I want is Kara. Where is my cousin? Tell me now or else."

Supergirl:

"What the hell are you doing," Leonard says, trying to push me aside but I grab his hand and push him back. As he stumbles back, Poison Ivy catches him.

"Thanks," he says, before aiming his gun at me.

"Kara," Dr. Crane says, slowly walking toward me with his hands up. "What are you doing? Didn't you hear Mr. Higgins? The four of them need to leave now. To help The Man."

"They're not leaving," I say, pulling back my arms and turning to face the doctor. "They're not leaving without me."

"Oh no, no, no," Dr. Crane repeats, waving his metal hand back and forth. "No. No. No. I have under very strict order from you-know-who not to let anyone except them go back to Harleen's base."

"But I'm fine. Only Barry and Oliver were hurt. Listen, the rest of them, you can do a check-up on but not me. I'm going back."

I take a step toward the portal, but this time, it's the doctor that spreads out his arms to stop me.

"No," he yells, pointing a finger at me. "Again, I can't let you go back. I quote, I quote The Man."

Clearing his throat, he then talks.

"Doc, unless you want a black eye and some fake teeth to go with your metal hand of your, you will not let Kara or any of the other go. Got it? Yeah, I got it alright. Supergirl, I can't let you leave."

Nudging his head, Leonard, Ivy, Reverse-Flash, and Swamp Thing walk past Dr. Crane while he still keeps me away.

"Charge," Leonard says before he and everyone else jump right in.
