Chapter 3: Adoption. I'm a dad?

Taehyung

"How old are you?" I asked the girl beside me. She tilted her head to the side as if thinking. "I, don't know..." This confused me.

"Eh? How can you not know your age? Do you know your birthday?" I practically shoved questions in her face.

"No. I never had one." She smiled. Gosh, hybrids go through a lot more than I thought. "Well, tomorrow, a very good friend of mime is coming and I'm finally gonna know everything about you." Her eyes lit up, this must be a special opportunity for her.

"R-Really?" I can already feel her being giddy about it. I'll keep the adoption a secret for now, she'll be so surprised tomorrow. "I'm gonna be a dad~" I whisper to myself.

"Let's get you to sleep now okay?" I kissed her forehead and laid her down, tucking her in the blankets. "Goodnight kitten."

THE NEXT DAY

"Ah, Taehyung! It's been a while!" Hoseok gave me a hug and patted my back, me doing the same. "How's it going man?" We sat down and the maids gave us some tea and cake.

"Business is good." I drank my cup and cussed at how hot it is. "Aish. Too hot. Tsk." I wiped my mouth. "Haha! Don't be so on edge all the time. Anyways, where's the girl?" He asks, putting his case on the table and taking out his laptop.

I was about to answer when a maid cut me off, "Young Master, she's ready." Lana, the maid I entrusted her with, announced. "Get her here then." I crossed my leg, thinking.

I can handle the responsibility of having a hybrid, the bad thing is that who I am.

"Oppa!" The small voice calls before footsteps replaced it. "Ah, you look good in that!" I smiled while taking in her lightly curled hair and the dress I bought her the day before.

It was a black dress with a matching pearl necklace.

"Wow, so this is the bean I've been hearing about--" Hoseok stood up and walked towards the girl, sticking his hand out. She backed away a little before looking at me, just for permission.

It's quite sad actually, she's probably been treated with such authority and dominance in that lab before that's gotten her to think she needs my permission at everything.

I gave her a thumbs up and a smile to signal everything's alright.

She smiled back and greeted Hoseok who returned the greeting with a small girly squeal that made me furrow my eyebrows and shake my head.

"Alright. Alright! Enough fan girling please, I still need to be in the mall today so if we can just get this on with."

I adjusted my collar before sitting down again and patting the empty seat before me.

She came running beside me and smiling softly. Am I gonna become a dad now? Hm, at least a better dad than mine.

"So I just need to prick your finger on this, so I can get a sample of your blood and then we'll know everything about you in a minuet." Hoseok pulled out a red thing with a small slim needle on the middle.

"They do blood samples now?" I rest my chin on my hand. "Apparently, they didn't want to risk any lost files so they invented blood sampling information to easily identify a hybrids serial number."

He reaches out for her hand, she looked rather nervous. "It's alright. You can trust him." I pat her head.

"Okay." She replies in a whisper. Hoseok pricked her finger making her flinch. "Good girl." I kiss her head earning a purr. "Ha, Kim Taehyung has gone soft." Hoseok chuckles.

"Kinda, I can still punch you though." I smirk. "No thank you, I prefer keeping my handsome face." He poses, making the girl giggle. "Ew." I scoff.

"Okaaay. We have her serial number. Number 03019. Age 8, as of now. Birth date is May 11, year unsaid. Female, kept in the Hybrid Nest Laboratory and--" His eyes widened, looking back and forth to the girl and his laptop screen. "What? What is it?" I ask.

"She's--Shes's, her animal is half black leopard and half lion,"

,"Taehyung, never let her associate with business men lemme tell you that.

This girl is worth billions in the hybrid program." His forehead wrinkles and sighs in frustration.

"Well, I am going to adopt her. So I'll be able to have her as my own." I sat upright.

"Y-you're going to adopt me?" She whispers and looks up at me. Hope can be seen in her brown and green orbs. "Yes, are you alright with that?" I ask with a smile. She just nods and smiles brightly.

"But I'm gonna warn ya Tae. She's dangerous, her kind has one of the keenest senses there is in animals." He says. "Yeah? What kind of abilities?" Suddenly this made me a lot more interested in her, not that I wasn't that interested earlier.

"Well, she's absolutely fast, observant, wise, intelligent might I add. Uh, strong, very strong, she has an acute sense of smell and a strong environment feeling, and she's also stubborn, dominant, can see well, specially in the dark--", "Wow kid, you're cooler than me." I ruffled her hair, "--also, lastly, she'll only last a couple of days in that small little body and will grow into a young woman." He smirks.

"What?! What do you mean? She's 8!" I scream, "And, she's a hybrid." He adds. "Ah, I thought I'll grow to be her father a moment ago." I facepalm making Hoseok laugh.

"Well, when she grows let me know. Now! To talk about her adoption, I can file her in and make documents, I'll just print out some documents, you don't mind me using your printer do you?" He asks. "No not at all." I say.

"Alright then, it's done." He stands up, and got the papers. "Always so fast huh?" I chuckle. "Well I am a professional." Hoseok smirks.

"Okay! These are the papers need to be signed. It consists if her name and if the adoption is long term or short." He hands it out.

I fill up the blank, the information needed and red all the terms and policies. The last is the official signature and her name. "I'll call you, (Y/n). Kim (Y/n). Nickname is kitten! Although, you're far from a house cat." I laugh.

"Thank you." A single tear rolled out of her eye. I wiped it away and kissed her forehead. "You're going to be with me forever now." She laughed, a joyful one.

"This is one of the most touching scenarios I've seen from you Taehyung. I'm so proud!" He stood up to hug me but a scooted away. "Hyung! Don't hug me!" I push him away.

"But you let her hug you!" He screams, "That's cause she's a little girl! And I ain't comfortable with how girly you're acting Hyung! Go away! No!" I ran away.

The moment was filled with disgust, anxiety and running away from a girly and emotional Hoseok. But (Y/n) felt new, she finally had a family.
